Dead in the Water
Everything's Under Control
(Nonnie's POV)
"Nonnie, wait!" Frank yelled somewhere behind me as I took off in the maze of trees that surrounded the back property.
I didn't care. I wasn't going to stop fighting or running until I found Ian. I followed Erelin and Brendon and now I have lost them. It's ok though. It's not like I can't track Erelin, cause she is human.
We were too late. Amanda is dead and I have lost another close friend because of Ian. Why couldn't Martin track her sooner? I had all these thoughts running through my mind as the tears started to fall. There was nothing I could do to bring Amanda back but I can kill Ian.
Five vampires came out of the trees and started to attack me. Their faces were in full vamp mode so I fixed it to where mine was too. I can play their game, plus most of these vampires were new ones. I could easily take them down.
"Looks like you are all alone." One vampire sneered.
"Where's Ian?" I fired back as I started to take down one vampire.
"Oh, he's waiting for Elissa. But you shouldn't worry about him because you won't live for much longer." Another one hissed as he started to attack me.
It may have been five against one but I definately knew how to get out of this one. I ended up killing three of the five vampires in no time flat but as I was going after the fourth one, I let my guard down a bit not seeing the dagger the fifth vampire had managed to slide out of his jacket after I had knocked him down. I turned just slightly as I heard the sound of air coming off something.
"Nonnie, look out!" Frank said knocking me to the ground as the two vampires that I was fighting managed to get away.
"Thanks." I managed to get out but as I looked up I saw blood rushing from Frank's chest.
"Frank, no!" I yelled.
"Easy, Nonnie." He said as if it was no big deal. "It just missed my heart." He smiled pulling out the small dagger.
"Frank Iero! You act like that was nothing! I could have lost you!" I said balling my fists up and punching him.
"Hey, relax. I'm fine, see, and besides, I just saved your ass." He grinned cockily.
"Oh, you saved my ass? Excuse me, but I had everything under control." I rolled my eyes.
"Is that so?" He laughed.
"I almost lost you."
"But you didn't." He raised my chin up to kiss me.
"I can't lose anyone else. Amanda's...gone."
"I know. Come on. We need to find the others and make sure they are ok. All we have to go on is the moonlight and our heightened senses. I know a few of the others have flashlights." Frank said helping me up as we took off in the woods.
"I want to rip him to shreds. I want to make him suffer then kill him. I don't think I have ever hated anyone this much in all my life." I said as we ran through the woods.
"You aren't the only one who wants him dead right now, Nonnie. Just remember that. I think this is Elissa's fight now." Frank replied.
"This fight should have been finished a long time ago and she couldn't kill him then." I argued as we caught up to the two vampires who got away from me earlier.
"Going somewhere?" I said releasing my rage.
