“So how did it go with you two talking back there?” I asked Amanda as we walked out of the hospital with a small cooler filled with blood packets.
“I guess ok. You know you put me in a really awkward spot back there.” She said.
“Well, did you score a date?” Erelin asked.
“Whose side are you on here?” Amanda asked.
“Well, uh, he is a male and a handsome one at that? Why can’t you let yourself be happy?” Erelin asked.
“I tried that once. I got my heart broken, remember?” She said turning to me.
“Hey, I can’t help it that Micah thought he could make himself love you.” I said as we got in Amanda’s car.
“You didn’t answer my question. Did you score a date?” Erelin pressed.
“Ok, traitor, yes I have a date tomorrow with him.” I replied as we drove out of the parking lot of the hospital.
“Oh that is so awesome.” I said proud of my sister.
“I don’t know about this dating thing though. It has been awhile.” She said unsure.
“Maybe we could double date?” I chimed in.
“Ok, yeah, that would go over well. I am the only one who can eat anything. If I am going out on a date I want food.” I said grinning.
“I see her point Elissa. It would be weird to walk into a restaurant and Amanda is the only one eating. I can see it if Adam didn’t want to eat but two other people?” Erelin added.
“I can be there for moral support though with Pete. You know to get the ball rolling.” I said from the backseat.
“Ok, fine, because if I say no you are just going to bug me anyway.” Amanda replied.
“I think you and Adam would look so cute together.” I squealed.
“Who is acting like a teenybopper?” Amanda said.
“Oh you always have to ruin my fun.” I said.
“Why does Adam have to be a vampire? Can’t I meet a normal boy?” Amanda asked.
“Seriously Amanda, what is wrong with giving Adam a chance?” Erelin asked.
“Adam is cute, ok, and he seems nice but the whole vampire thing, I already did that and look where it got me. I just do not want to get my heart broken again. I was not very popular in high school, Elissa. Out of the four of us, you and Crystal were. I did not get to date many guys. They only wanted to get to me to get to you. When Micah appeared, the more I was around him, the more I fell in love with him. I just have relationship issues right now and besides, you always seem to steal my boyfriends, Elissa.” Amanda explained.
“I do not.” I said.
“Actually, I can name three.” Erelin chimed in.
“Ok, so Scott and Charles left you and I dated them. Mark was a different story. I liked him and he liked you but you didn’t like him so that is different.” I said taking up for myself.
“Where am I going again?” Amanda asked trying to change the subject.
“I’m sorry. We are just wandering around L.A.” I said laughing.
“Gee, you think?” She replied with Erelin laughing.
“Someone is a party pooper tonight.” I replied before giving Amanda directions to Pete and the boys’ place.
