Dead in the Water

Danger Lurks In Every Corner

(Amanda’s POV)
“You want to tell me what happened exactly?” Erelin asked as we got to my car.

“Sure.” I said as she got in. I felt that feeling again and turned around.

“Wait here a minute and lock the doors.” I said shutting my car door.

“Amanda!” I heard her yell loudly from inside the car.

I walked over to an area of the parking lot that had some woods behind it. Once I got to the barrier of the lot that separated the woods from the parking lot I stopped. Who is watching me?

“I will find you and when I do you better be prepared.” I said onto the woods.

“You are keeping your distance for now but I will soon know who you are.” I added and just like that, the vampire was gone.

“Amanda, what the hell was that?” Erelin asked.

“I felt that feeling again of being watched. The vampire is gone now but I left them a message. If they are bad, I kill them. If they are good then it’s a whole new ballgame but right now they are keeping their distance letting me know they are there but not letting me know if they are good or bad yet.” I sighed.

“So what happened after you left me?” Erelin asked wanting to know the details as I started up my car.

I had everything explained by the time we made it to Pete’s to pick up Elissa. I found out I had to take her back to her place so she could change and pick up some of her weapons. When she was ready to head out, I had to explain everything to her.

“I told you not to ignore your instincts.” Elissa said.

“Look, I just want to know who they are so I can dust them or not.” I replied.

“Amanda, we just found each other. I don’t want to lose my sister to a vampire.” Elissa said in the car.

“You won’t.” I said.

“Pull over here. This looks like a perfect vampire hangout spot.” Elissa said.

We piled out of my car and grabbed our weapons. It was somewhat slow for a bit. Then I spotted a few vampires walking down the street with their backs turned to us.

“Hey! Are you looking for someone?” I shouted.

“Amanda, what are you doing?” Erelin asked.

“I’m letting my dark side come out and play.” I said joking with Erelin and Elissa looking at each other puzzled.

“Isn’t it past your bedtime?” One vampire said out of the group of four.

“I thought I’d come home with you.” I replied as the vampires started rushing towards us.

We started fighting them off and were doing well. Erelin had killed one vampire and I killed another. Elissa was fighting off two when they stopped fighting and took off all of a sudden scared. I looked to find Erelin was missing but even though I was a little worried, I figured she ran off with Brendon nearby because I felt him.

“Why would they run off and where is Erelin?” Elissa asked looking at me.

I did not have to answer her. Out of a slight fog in front of us, shapes started to emerge. One of those shapes was of William Beckett. I looked at my sister and she looked at me. We were outnumbered and there was nowhere for us to run.
