Dead in the Water

Gerard's Plan

(Amanda's POV)
I left the apartment and walked out to my car. I brought my sholder bag packed with lots of stakes. I couldn't believe how worried Martin was about me. I would be careful. I mean he doesn't know about me dying yet and I don't want to tell him either.

I drove around until I decided to head to the docks. It was always a good place to kill vampires. I got out of my car and proceeded to walk around.

I ended up killing six vampires who didn't feel me as the slayer so I had the advantage on them. I reached into my bag to see that I was down to one stake left. I decided that I would head on home but something wasn't going to let me do that.

A vampire had snuck up on me and the only reason I knew that they were behind me was from their voice. "Why hello there dear." I heard the vampire say. I knew that voice. I turned around to see, Gerard!

"Gerard!" I said reaching for my last stake.

"What do we have here?" He asked watching me closely with his eyes burning into me.

"I am the slayer and if you know what is good for you, you will turn and run away or just die for me." I replied.

"Ha! You are more like a slayer wannabe." He remarked.

"Sorry, but in this town there are two!" I snapped.

"Well in that case, my apologies. There can only be one." He said bowing before he started to attack me.

He came at me and I flipped him down on the ground. He looked right at me and grinned evilly. "You know my dear friend, Nonnie." He smiled.

"How do you know that?" I asked as we were fighting.

We both were giving each other punches and kicks back and forth. He was stronger than I thought or I was getting weaker. Now is not the time for my slayer strength to give out. I was doing so well.

"I just know." He laughed.

"I won't let you hurt her or Frank!" I screamed lunging at him with my stake in my hand.

Gerard grabbed my wrist and managed to knock me down to the ground. He pinned me. I tried to reach for my stake that was laying beside me but to no avail.

"Oh, I will have Nonnie as my bride. Frank can watch and then die or maybe I will just kill him first so he can't try to save her. Nonnie will choose me in the end. She always had a spot for me." He laughed holding me tighter and making me cry out in pain a bit.

"Nonnie is stronger than that. She won't let you hurt Frank." I said reaching for my stake.

Gerard grabbed it and we fought on the ground for control of it. He slammed me back down on the ground as I had managed to break away from his grasp. He took my stake from me and staked me in my left shoulder, barely missing my heart as I had turned away from him.

"Ha! You are just a slayer wannabe." He laughed as he pulled the stake away and dropped it on the ground leaving me to grab my shoulder.

I felt one last adrenaline kick and grabbed Gerard as he started to walk away from me. I managed to scratch his face up with my nails as he tried to bite me. I dug them in as hard as I could and then managed to throw the stake in his right leg as he tried to get away. Even though, he may have gotten away from me tonight, he was still going to have a major limp in that leg and scratches to boot.

The pain set in quickly and I was bleeding alot from all the wounds I had recieved and from my stake wound which was huge. I somehow managed to make it back to my car. I sat there and slumped over against the steering wheel. I don't know why but my thoughts shifted to Martin. He couldn't hear my thoughts.

"Martin." I thought. "Martin, I need you." I said falling unconcious.

The next thing I remembered was being picked up out of the car into safe hands. "Nonnie, you must...call Nonnie. Gerard is lose." I said passing back out.
