Hell on High Heels

Looks that kill

Chelsea's PoV

After laying my needle on the table, I grab my phone to call Nikki.

"Hey Nikki, it’s Chelsea. Just wanted you to know that the first version of the clothing line is officially finished."

"That’s great! When can I come over?”

I shrug. “Now is fine by me, actually."

"Ok, I’ll bring 3 models with me."

"Models?” I ask but I realize he already hung up.

I can’t help but smile at the thought of Nikki coming over. After our surprise dinner 2 weeks ago I officially admitted to myself that my old romantic feelings for him had returned. If they ever had left in the first place, that is. I don’t have a clue if he feels the same and I’m not going to ask him now.

The date of the fashion show is coming closer and things are getting more and more stressful even though everything is going according to plan. I don’t want a situation like this mix with romantic feelings, it’ll only cause trouble.

“Yo open the door Chell!” I hear the unmistakably voice of Tommy.

I laugh as I see not only Nikki and Tommy but also Vince, Mick and Janet standing there.

“Wait, are you the three models Nikki mentioned?"

"Yup."

"Oh god,”

I’m afraid of what they would do to the clothes.

“Don’t worry about the clothing, that’s why I’m here,” Janet grins, reading my mind.

“Yeah, and not just because you and Mick are glued together,” Vince replies.

After their ‘blind date’ they finally got back together, something they should have done ages ago. If they hadn’t been so shy, they could have been married right now. And maybe, if life hadn’t been so fucked up back then, maybe Nikki and I….

My thoughts are disturbed by Tommy, who is waving his hand in front of my eyes.
“Yo Chel, are you there?"

"Sorry, I was zooming out."

"Ok, we’re going to fit the clothes now. Which one do you think will suit me? “

I grab the longest shirt and pants I’ve made so far and give them to Tommy.

Nikki and I smile when our friends return. The clothing may not fit them perfectly but we both can see it’ll look amazing on the professional models we’ve hired for the upcoming show.

“It looks amazing, “ Janet says, smiling at me.

“Thanks. I have a favour to ask of you,” Nikki says to his fellow Crue members/ part-time models. “I would love it if you guys would show up to play a gig at the fashion show?"

"Sure. Why don’t we play some songs that somehow have to do with fashion? You know, songs with colours, shit like that” Vince suggests. “Like Looks that kill, Black widow, Red hot, Hell on high heels?"

"Yeah, good idea."

“How about She goes down? The song begins with the sound of the opening of a zipper after all,” Tommy adds.

Mick rolls his eyes but Nikki writes it down.

As the guys discuss the small gig, I have some small talk with Janet.

“You know he’s staring at you,” she says softly.

“What, or should I say who, are you talking about?"

"Nikki, he’s staring at you. You know, the guys didn’t organize that dinner for you and him if they hadn’t a reason."

"Janet, no matchmaking please, Nikki and I are just friends. Besides, him and I aren’t in the same situation where you and Mick used to be in, belonging together yet too shy to act upon it."

"Sure Chelsea, don’t admit it. You know you’re behaving exactly the same as in 1984 when you first started to like Nikki. Things may have happened to you and you might have became older, but the chemistry is still there."

"Janet, come on. I’m stressed enough for the fashion show and you’re making it worse now."

"You didn’t deny what I said,” Janet mutters. “Well, as long as you don’t lie to yourself.”
