Intrusion

“Everybody come in! Now!”I howled very urgently. As the first started to show up they were asking “What all happened? Is everything all right?”
“I’ll tell you when the rest of the council and the pack get here.”
Soon the whole pack was here. In everyone’s eyes I could see that they were worried. The council was sitting beside me.
“Now everyone listen up.” Mist and Forest were sitting beside me. It got quiet fast in the cavern that was our home.
“Earlier a wolf from another pack came into our cavern trying to hurt the pups.” A gasp escaped from the crowd of wolves. “Mist and I caught him by surprise and put a gash in his left leg. He was sent here to inspect the land to see if they like it and they do. His Alfa leaders, Scar and his wife Raven, plan to take over our land. That is all I know at this point.”
“What shall we do?” whined Smokey. He was on of the younger wolves, with gray long fur and dark brown eyes. This started a whole new topic and I could feel the panic and horror that some were feeling.
“Hush!!!” I yelled. Mist gave me a look and spoke up. The cavern got quiet again as she talked.
“Now it doesn’t help matters if we just sit here and talk about it. We should send out four scouts and two of them will join the other pack and figure their plans. Then every hunt we will meet up at the boarders of our land and you will inform us of their status. Now who will volunteer to go on this trip?”
“ I will,” and out came Midnight. She was our shyest and quietest. I was very seldom we ever heard her speak so when she did we all went silent. She had come here a few years back because she had gotten separated from her pack and she was about a year or so. “I will be one of the four to go on this trip and be on of the two to join the other pack.”
“I will also go,” spoke Smokey with pride, his head up high and his gaze locked on me.
“So shall I and Forest,” I spoke.
“I will go with Midnight and join the other pack. We should set out tomorrow night,” said Forest and I could tell that her mind was set and she would never be phased.
“Then it is settled. Midnight and Forest will join the pack and Smokey and I will spy on them. We will set out tomorrow night and I will arrive back in the morning to tell what has happened.” My voice was loud and clear but I could hear the panic in it. “We will set out when the sun hits the horizon in one days time.”
