Events of a Lifetime

Chapter 9

(Lexi POV)

As we stand in the room I try my hardest to suppress a giggle. As I look at the three remaining members of the band I can tell they are trying hard not to laugh as well. We all look at each other then burst out laughing. As the laughter dies down it starts to become awkward.

“So, what do you guys normally do for fun?” I ask.

“We usually just chill. But now that we have an amazingly pretty girl with us, the party can really start,” says Pete.

“Why Mr. Wentz you are such a charmer,” I say, “So what do three amazingly talented men and one so called pretty girl do?”

“Well first off my dad is Mr. Wentz, call me Pete or some form of Pete. Secondly, we could do anything because having you beauty there would make it enjoyable. And thirdly, don’t doubt yourself, because when you smiled as we came in, your smile lit up my day,” Pete says.

“Pete! Keep it in your pants will you? I mean my goodness, we have only known the girl for like ten seconds,” Patrick says.

“Boys, now, now. There is plenty of Lexi to go around,” I say, “You awfully quiet Joe. I didn’t do anything wrong did I?”

“No Lexi, you did nothing wrong. I’m just a little on the quieter side,” Joe responds giving me a small smile.

“Okay, good. Now lets do something fun. But first I have a question,” I say pausing before beginning again, “So I have this guy that I dated for like three years, then he left for college and dumped me. Now a year later he calls me up and tells me he still loves me. What should I do? I’m so confused.”

“I guess the real question is do you still love him?” Pete asks while looking down sort of hurt.

“No,” I say, “Thanks for your help. I think I finally just got over him.”

“You guys want to go for a walk? Or do something?” Joe asks.

“Yes!” Patrick, Pete, and I all reply at the same time.

“Lexi, you can walk next to me,” Pete says but quickly adds, “so that you won’t be cold.”

“Okay. Thanks for the generosity Pete,” I say slightly blushing.

“Okay you two lovebirds. Lets go sit on the stage,” says Joe.
