Queens of the Night

She was nervous. Alright, that was putting it lightly. She was actually terrified. The only thing that kept her moving was the fact that she could see Shaun. She could see Jason. They were waiting for her. She took Shaun's hand and was able to relax a little. Being surrounded by the mass of people hadn't been easy. Especially when she expected any one of them to stab a knife into her back at any moment. She didn't trust them for good reason. She turned to face the crowd, proud and defiant in their eyes as she heard Shaun begin his little speech.

"It is today that Xander, Elizabeth and I wish to announce there will be a new queen. Much like Elizabeth is to Xander, Eli will be my queen. As of tonight, it will be official." The cheer wasn't really for the fact that Eli was queen. She knew that fact very well. Most of them probably still considered her a whore. No, the cheer was for the celebration that was about to commence. "Ready to celebrate, doll?"

Eli rolled her eyes and couldn't help but laugh. She looked and him and ran her tongue across her lips. "I thought that's what was going on right in front of us," she teased. She heard him growl softly and kissed him. A rousing cheer went up from her own knights. The eight young vampires who had defended her on the battlefield had been saved by Xander and appointed as her knights so that they might be protected a little from Shaun's wrath over her being shot. "You were talking about a celebration?" she asked pulling away before his hands could start moving.

He grabbed her hand and ordered Jason to stay with Elizabeth while he pulled Eli out the back way. She couldn't help but giggle. She felt like she was seventeen all over again. That had been the first time she had been with a guy. Tommy Rigby. She was glad that she had gotten over him. She had been twenty when she had met Shaun. Those butterflies had come later. He was kissing her before they even got back to their room.

Eli hitched her skirt up and wrapped her legs around Shaun, her arms wrapping around his shoulders as she kissed him back. She vaguely remembered Shaun kicking the door shut behind them, but beyond that, she was too distracted by the other things he was doing.
