I run out of the house, slamming the door behind me.
My tears stream down my cheeks but I wipe them quickly.
It starts to drizzle, then the rain starts to pour harder.
I hug myself for comfort and run to the nearest bench.
I huddle in the seat, crying because of what my mother had done.

I feel so alone.

I sob harder, my anger pouring out in the form of tears.

My mother knew all along.
She kept Seth's secret from me...
She betrayed my trust.
I feel so bad.

So guilty.
So mad.

So...
Sad.

I hate Seth Paver.
Can't she understand that?

I thought she understood me so well.

Is she blind?

I trusted her.
Too much.

But now...

I had no one to talk to.
I had no one to lean on.
To cry on.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

I look up and see a guy around my age holding out his hand.

"I... haven't I seen you before?"

He wears a confused expression when his face lightens up.

"Oh, right. Aren't you my neighbor?"
"I think so, yeah. You just moved in, right?"
"Uh-huh."
"I see..."
"Why are you crying?"
"...family problem."
"Hey, uh... do you want me to accompany you back home?"

I glance at him and blush.

"Umm..."
"It's okay. Come on, up."

He grins and holds out his hand again.
I place my hand on his then he carefully helps me up.
I slowly stand up and feel my face redden again.

"Ah, how rude of me. By the way, my name is Aiden Skye Evans. You?"
"Alice. Alice Midorikawa."
"Oohh, nice name."
"Th-Thank you."

I look down then he suddenly grasps my hand.

"Let's go!"

I look at him with a surprised expression and he smiles.
He pulls me under the umbrella.

"You shouldn't stay under the rain, you know."
"Sorry..."

We walk back to my house, the place where I never wanted to go back ever again.
