The Girl: Averett Noelle Kinston “Ava”
The Boy: Travis Andrew Grimsley “Drew”
I owe this story and its title to a local band, The Lo & Beholds. All the names have been changed and the plot is entirely invented, but it was inspired by an interview where the band’s drummer talked about the girl in their band leaving and how that affected their sound. So I started to wonder, what would happen if that girl did more than sing back-up vocals, what if she stole hearts as well? And so Averett was born.
