Cheating

Cheating

“Akane-chan, what’s the right answer for this one?” Akane’s heart skipped a beat, as the raven-haired teenager with a lip ring leaned over and whispered something in her ear, giving her thigh a little squeeze with his left hand. Shiroyama Yuu, better know as Aoi, was sitting next to her during history, biology, math and Japanese. Right now, they were taking a test from history.

“I…it’s 1917, Yuu-sama.” She whispered back meekly, looking at her paper urgently, to busy her eyes. If she would look at him, the blush on her cheeks would be even worse. Aoi gave her thigh a thankful squeeze before his hand went away. Akane sighed slowly, so he wouldn’t hear and then used her long, red hair as a curtain to shield herself from him. Even though Akane is afraid of him, she has a big crush on him, too. The first day she came to this school, she was almost raped by another guy, his nickname being Kyo. But Aoi stepped in just in time and beat the crap out of him. Seeing him fight was one of the scariest things she ever saw. After the coward Kyo fled, Akane remembered exactly what he did. He wiped the sweat off his face, touched his busted lip to find blood on his finger, and then he turned to her. He smiled at her, softly.

“You okay?” He asked her, as he turned his head to where Kyo went.

“H-hai. Hontoni Arigatou gozaimasu.” Akane could only say. Aoi’s face brightened to a grin, as he helped Akane up. Her legs wobbled, but she managed to stand on her own.

“What’s your name?” He asked her, as he checked her for any wounds.

“Yamakawa Akane.” She meeked.

“I’m Shiroyama Yuu. Ah, look, we’re the ‘Yama’ people!” He said happily.

From that day on, the ‘Yama’ people were sitting next to each other on every class they could. Aoi took care of her, always watching out if Kyo didn’t come too close to her. Akane loved him for that, but she was afraid of him. He was in the top three hottest guys in school, and in the top five most dangerous guys as well.

His hand crept up her thigh again and she eep-ed and shoved the paper at him too quickly. The teacher noticed that.

“Please hand in your papers. Both of you, Yamakawa-san, Shiroyama-san.” Akane looked embarrassed, horrified and on the verge of tears, as she delicately placed her paper in the hands of her professor, while Aoi looked bored and a bit irritated, as he shoved the paper at him.

“Now would you please leave the classroom? I have no place for cheaters.” The teacher scoffed and Akane ran out, feeling the humiliating gazes on her and Aoi followed her with a much easier pace. When the door to the classroom slammed shut, thanks to Aoi, Akane turned her back to him to hide the tears falling down her face.

She was just caught cheating, she realized. She never cheated. She always prepared for tests and was always able to have full points without help. But now…

Plus, she even dragged Aoi into it! The scary Aoi, that was right now angry. She heard him sigh.

“What an idiot.” Well, he may have said something worse than that, to be completely honest.

“I’m so sorry, Yuu-sama.” She apologized quietly, not wanting him to hear her crying. Aoi patted her head.

“It wasn’t your fault…eh? Akane-chan, are you crying?” He asked her, as he grabbed her shoulders and turned her to face him.

“No.” Akane said meekly.

“Something fell in my eye.” She said stubbornly, looking away and rubbing at her eye, to wipe the tears. Aoi laughed.

“Aww, comon!” He said soothingly, as he hugged her, his big arms snaking around her and pulling her to his body.

Akane didn’t want to cry, but as he held her in his arms, she couldn’t help but to feel vulnerable, as she gripped the back of his shirt, burying her head in his chest, sobbing quietly.

“I’m sorry…” She kept repeating, the words being muffled by the fact that she was still crying in his chest.

“It wasn’t your fault.” Aoi repeated again, as he placed his chin on her head, rocking them back and forth.

After she calmed down a bit, Akane moved her head, so her cheek was flat on his chest, and her hands went down to his waist, where they connected. She could hear him smirk, and her heart skipped a beat when he kissed her head. Akane looked up at him and she was shocked, how their faces were close to each other. She blushed almost instantly, and Aoi looked stunned, too, before he cracked a grin.

“I think I would need some…medicine…you know, just in case, so I won’t have a trauma.” He said, and a whole line of pills raced down Akane’s head, trying to decide which one was better for him. They scattered after a while, when Aoi tightened his grasp on her, and one of his hands went down to hers.

“I don’t mean medical pills.” He said slowly, gently leaning down and kissing the side of her face. He then slowly leaned away, not breaking eye contact with her. Akane looked at him with slight fear, as she grabbed his hand.

“I really care for you, Akane-chan.” He said quietly, as he leaned in again, and kissed the spot just under her ear.

“And if this makes you feel uncomfortable, please tell me, so I know your feelings for me.” He kissed her neck slightly, leaning his head on her shoulder. Akane’s heart leaped.

Through the fear, she kissed his neck back. His head shot up, looking cheerful, as he picked her up and twirled her around. Akane couldn’t help but squeal. Aoi then pressed his lips to hers, making the fear go away forever.
