Living in the shadows

A few minutes later I heard him come back upstairs.
"Josie," he yelled "I have everything you want!"
I got up from my spot on his bed, yes I fixed his room back, and went to him.
He handed me everything then I started to draw on the wall.
"Hey I am gong to get somethig to eat do you want anything?" he asked.
"Alex I am a ghost," I said in a matter-of-fact tone "I can't eat."
"Woah you haven't eaten anything since 1965?" he asked shocked.
"Yeah and boy am I hungry." I said.
"Then never mind I can wait to eat." he said, sitting down on the floor to watch me.
I started to sketch on the wall with a pencil.
"Josie is there any way that I cold free you from being a ghost?" he asked.
I just wanted to scream yes and tell him to say that he loved me!
"Yes," I said "But I can't tell you."
"What why?" he asked.
"If I told you then it wouldn't free me."
"Josie that must be horrible."
"I have learned to live with it."
We sat there in silence until I was done with the sketch. I smiled at my work because this was the best I have ever drawn. We both heard a car pull into the driveway and knew it was his parents.
"Josie should I tell my parents about you?" he asked.
"I don't care but they can only see me if they believe in ghosts."
"Ok I am going to tell them!" he said excited, jumping up and running downstairs.
I heard laughing then footsteps comming up the stairs. When his parents looked into the door both of their mouths dropped.
"Alex there is a ghost in your room." said his mom.
"I know mom!" he said proudly "This is Josie!"
"Hello Josie." said his dad "I am Robert Stark and this is my wife Maria."
"Hello it is nice to meet you." I replied.
"Alex when did you find out about it?" asked Maria.
"Mom Josie is a girl and I found out about her today." he replied.
"How did you die?" asked Robert.
"I was raped then killed in this house."
"Who did it to you?" he asked.
"I don't know but I haunted him until he commited suicide."
"I am so sorry for you dear." Robert said, trying to hug me but went through me.
"Yeah you can't hug a ghost." I said.
His mom made a discusted face then left. She seemed not to like me.
"Josie please come have dinner with us." he said.
"Ok but I can't eat anything." I replied.
At dinner I told them about a lot of people who have lived here and how I have scared them. Us mom didn't seem to care at all while Robert and Alex were completly amazed by all my stories. After dinner I went back up to Alex's room. I sat down on his bed.
"Josie I am just completly amazed that you are a ghost." said Alex.
"So am I." I mumbled to myself.
Alex sat down beside me and tried to kiss me but again went through me.
"Josie I need to know how to free you from being a ghost!" he said frustrated.
"I can't tell you." I said.
"Josie please I need to know."
"I can't tell you."
"Tell me please."
"Why do you even care?" I asked.
"Becasue I think I love you." he said.
