I Really Don't Want "Miserable at Best" to Be Dedicated to You

"Oh come on Sarah!" Alex yelled at his girlfriend of three years.

"NO! Alex I've had enough ok, I can't do this anymore it's over!" Sarah yelled back. "Oh please don't do this to me, I love you." He pleaded.

"You love me so much you cheat on me!?" She yelled.

"I didn't cheat on you, what the fuck are you talking about?!" He yelled.

"OH no, you didn't cheat, then why did I get a bunch of texts and calls from a girl huh?" She asked in such and infuriated tone to her voice.

Sarah didn't know what to do anymore. She loved Alex Garcia with all her heart and she really didn't want to leave him. But she just couldn't stand liars and she knew for a fact that Alex was lying to her, or so she thought at least.

"Sarah I don't know what they are, I've told you that so many times! Tell me what the number is and I can tell you who it is right off the bat." He said.

"Ok , the number is (888) 679-5149," She said.

Alex had a blank expression on his face, he had never even heard of a number so odd in his life. He had to Sarah the truth that he really didn't know where that number came from. Although, he had a gut feeling that Sarah wouldn't believe him. He had to just give it a shot anyway.

"Sarah, I've never heard that number in my life before. That number isn't even from anywhere around here." He said.

"I knew it Alex." She spat. "Knew what Sarah?!" He was getting frustrated.

"That you were a liar, that you are cheating on me!" She yelled.

"Sarah, I swear to you I'd never cheat on you!! We've been together for three fucking years. I don't want to throw that away." He said trying to hold her close.

She wanted to push him away but she just couldn't. She loved how she felt in his arms. Her average size frame fit into his perfectly. It was like their bodies were made for each other. They stayed in that position for about five minutes without saying one word. Then something in Sarah's head clicked and she pushed him away.

"You're such a fucking liar Alex! This is CRAZY! I thought you loved me, I guess you really don't." She said.

"Seriously, I do love you what are you talking about, I do love you." He said and placed a soft kiss on her lips.

Sarah knew that maybe this wasn't the right choice and she had never suspected that Alex would cheat on her. But for some reason she still found herself breaking up with him.

"Alex I can't anymore, I'm sorry but it needs to be over." She said.

He wanted to try and prove that he really, really didn't cheat but he knew there would be no point. He just knew that right now, things wouldn't be the same for him anymore.

Sarah sat in her house crying for three days staright. No matter what she loved Alex with all her heart. He was her first love and all she hoped was that he'd be her last love too. All she could imagine was walking down the isle with Alex waiting for her and then them having a nice family. She knew now that it wouldn't happen and all she hoped for was going to flying out the window.

Sarah's phone started ringing. Her heart skipped a beat because she thought it was Alex who was calling her. Although her Alex were over on her terms, truth is Sarah still loves Alex. When she looked down at her phone she realized it was her best friend Kristi.

"Hi Kristi," Sarah spoke.

"Hi Sarah, how are you doing?" She asked.

"How the fuck do you think I'm doing, honestly" Sarah said.

"Geez Sarah, I'm sorry I was just being polite and asking you." She said.

"Well you know what next time don't!!" Sarah yelled.

"Ok well I'm sorry it's just I wanted to know how you were handling with you know the-"

"Don't even finish that sentence, I think I may have let go the one man I actually love. Kristi, I've lost him and you don't know how fucking bad I'm feeling right now. I still love him and I can't lose him for good. He's all I want." Sarah sobbed into the phone.

"Ok that's it I'm coming over," Kristi said.

"No it's fine you don't have to." Sarah said.

"Well I want to come over so too bad," Kristi said as she hung up the phone.

As much as Sarah loved Kristi, she wished that she would leave her alone right now. Sarah just needed a little bit of time to think things through alone; without having someone else's input.

Within minutes Kristi arrived at Sarah's place. Kristi didn't even bother to ring because she knew the door would be unlocked. Sarah always did that when something bad happened to her. She always thought, perfect time for someone to kill me. Crazy, yes but that was Sarah.

"Sarah, tell me everything." Kristi said.

"I told you everything already, I broke up with him he cheated on me." Sarah said hurt.

"No he didn't Sarah I've been his friend for the past five years trust me I'd know if he'd cheat." She said.

"Just because you know him for five years doesn't mean you know him perfectly." Sarah said.

"That is true, but what was this number that you claim to be gettin texts from?" She asked.

"The number is (888) 679-5149." She said.

"Oh Sarah, I know for a fact he doesn't know that number from anywhere." Kristi said.

"Oh how can you be so fucking sure about that huh?" Sarah asked getting aggrivated that she was taking his side over hers.

"Trust me, I know every single number in his contact list that number never appread." She said.

"Are you sure?" Sarah asked.

"Yes, I'm one hundred percent sure, that number has never been in his phone I promise you." She said.

"Well you know what I still don't believe you." Sarah said.

"How can I prove that he's never seen a number like that before?" She asked.

"I don't Kristi I don't know," Sarah said.

"Well I'll think of something." She said.

"Sure Kristi you do that. " Sarah said with Attitude.

With that Kristi got up and left Sarah all alone.

Alex wasn't himself for three days either. He was just so heartbroken he didn't understand how this person even knew him. He never cheated on Sarah and all he wanted to do was be with her forever. He had plans on proposing to her on her birthday. Her birthday was in two weeks from the day they broke up. He wanted nothing more then to have kids with her and just be happy.

"Hey Alex, what's up?" Derek asked.

"Nothing at all." Alex said sadly.

"Cheer up Alex, there's a lot of nice ass out there you can fuck." Derek said.

That was honestly the dumbest thing anyone could've told Alex. Alex was ready to kill Derek but he knew that would be a bad idea seeing as they are both part of the same band. If he killed Derek then he knew his band mates would get back at him and he didn't want that. It's just that Derek crossed a line that he should not of.

"A lot of nice ass I can fuck?!" He yelled.

"Yea man get your mind off that chick you've wasted too much time on her anyway." Derek said.

Derek didn't seem to understand that by the tone of Alex's voice that he was about to flip out.

"WHAT THE FUCK?! DON'T YOU GET IT? I DON'T WANT TO GET OVER HER DAMN IT!" Alex yelled.

"Shit man you love her that much huh?" Derek asked feeling like a moron.

"Yes you dumb ass!" Alex yelled

"Well you better prove to her that you do love her." He said.

"Derek I think it's over." Alex said.

"Nah man just prove that you're it for her. Do you really want to be singing Miserable at best and having it meant for Sarah?" He said.

"You know what you're right! Oh and hell no!" Alex said.

"Exactly now let's go think of ways to win her heart back." Derek said as he and Alex left the room.

Sarah kept re-mincing on and on about the day she and Alex met.

**** (Flashback)

Kristi had told Sarah about this great band and that she had gotten front row tickets to the concert. Kristi felt as though Sarah should join her. Sarah was excited at first about this offer so she agreed right off the bad. What Sarah didn't know was that Krisit had plans to set up her and Alex Garcia, the gitaurist of the band Mayday Parade. Kristi knew how Sarah was about all this match making stuff, but Kristi knew that he and Sarah would make the perfect couple.

"Hey Sarah you ready to go?" Kristi called.

Sarah for some odd reason was begining to have second thoughts about going to the concert. She wasn't so sure she wanted to be there and hear Mayday Parade. Sure she had heard their music before and did think it was pretty cool. It's just that Sarah was more the type to stay inside and not go to concerts live. If they were playing on TV then she'd be more then happy to sit through them and watch it. But actually going to one? Sarah wasn't too sure anymore.

"Kristi I think I'm going to stay, actually let me rephrase that. I'm staying home!" Sarah said.

"Wait. What why?" She asked.

"This whole concert isn't my thing." Sarah said.

"Well guess what too bad you said you were coming so no chaning your mind now!" Kristi yelled.

"That's not fair Kristi!" Sarah said.

"Is too," She said.

"Is not!" Sarah said.

They kept at this for like ten minutes. They sounded like two little five year old girls.

"Damn that was an amazing concert!" Sarah yelled.

"And to think you didn't even want to come with me!" Kristi said.

"I know, I know but I did and I enjoyed myself." Sarah said.

"I knew you would! Hey ready to go backstage?" Kristi asked.

"What?! Backstage?! You never said anything about Backstage?!" Sarah was freaking out.

Sarah didn't think she was cut out to go backstage. She didn't think she looked good enough. Sarah was wearing a over sized shirt dress that was in the purple wine tones. She was also wearing a pair of beige leggings a yellow scarf and a cute pair of brown boots.

"Oh Sarah what are you talking about you look hot!" Kristi said.

So once again Kristi manages to persuade Sarah into going backstage. When Sarah finally went backstage she was met with the most amazing eyes she had ever seen. They were the eyes of none other then Alex Garcia.

"I see you met Alex," Kristi said.

"Umm, huh?" Sarah asked dumbfounded.

"Alex this is my best friend Sarah. Sarah this is my good friend and guitarist of Mayday Parade Alex." She said.

"Oh hi, nice to meet you." Alex said with a smile.

The smile made Sarah's heart melt right then and there. Kristi came up with an idea to get Alex and Sarah to hook up. She decided to play a round of truth or dare. She made sure that Alex went first and that he'd pick dare.

"Alex truth or dare?" Kristi asked.

"Well I'm a man so I pick dare." Alex said with a smirk

"Ok fine, well then Alex I dare you to kiss Sarah passionately." Kristi said.

Sarah felt her face flush and she wanted to kill Kristi.

"Um ok, fine." Alex said.

We walked over to Kristi and he kissed her with all the passion possible. Sarah had never received a kiss like that before in her life and she was in heaven. From that day on they became closer and they were inseparable.

****(End Flashback)

Alex kept thinking of ways to get Sarah back with Derek. They had thought about a whole bunch of different things but none of them seemed to be the right ones. Until it clicked! He'd hold a mock concert with a bunch of his friends and Sarah's family and he'd tell her how much he loved her. Then he'd propose to her in hopes that Sarah would say yes. This was a risky move but he was willing to take risks for Sarah.

It was now two whole weeks since the break up and Sarah had no idea what to do without Alex. If she were still with him, they'd be together and he'd sing to her softly. He'd make her feel beautiful, he'd kiss her and tell her that he loved her. But all of that was gone now, every single piece of it was just gone. Why? Because she freaked out over a number. And she had a feeling that Alex was telling the truth, but she was just too ashamed to admit it now.

"Hey Sarah, wanna go out tonight?" Kristi asked Sarah as she walked in the door.

"Um I don't know if that's such a good idea." Sarah said.

"I think it is, you need to get out!" Kristi said.

"Really I don't think it's a good idea." Sarah said again.

"Look there's no point in doing this, we all know that you're going to be going out tonight." Kristi said.

"True." Sarah agreed.

"Alright then let's make you look sexy." Kristi said.

Kristi found a black and white strapless dress with bottons in the front. She imagine how Alex would go all googly eyed at it. Yes, Kristi was part of the master plan. Good thing Kristi didn't have a big mouth otherwise things could end badly.

"Kristi where the fuck are we?!" Sarah yelled as she saw the sign for Mayday Parade.

"We're here, at the concert." Kristi said.

"That's it Kristi take me back home!" Sarah yelled.

"Nope, there's no point in trying to escape you're going to see Mayday Parade." She said.

"Ugh fine!" Sarah yelled!
...

"Well we have something a little different that's about to take place." Alex said.

The entire crowed ohhed and ahhed, damn they were good actors weren't they.

"As you know the last song that was just played was Miserable At Best. When I hear that song, there's one thought that pops into my mind and I never want it to be there again. What might that thought be? That thought might be that it will eventually be dedicated to the love of my life." Alex said.

Sarah felt her eyes get all watery and she knew he was talking about her. Sarah wanted to leave and was going to make a run for it, but all of a sudden the spotlight was on her. Sarah just froze in place.

"Sarah can you please come join me up here?" Alex asked with a pleading look.
Sarah was reluctant to go up on stage but she did anyway.

"Alex what are you-"

Alex placed a finger to her lips and kissed her cheek. The crowd oohed and ahhed once again. Sarah became red as a tomato.

"Sarah, I love you so much, so much that words can't even describe. I think about you day and night. You're the only girl for me. I hope you know that I'd never even dream of cheating on you ever! That number, I found out where it came from. It was some obsessed stalker freak that had a thing for me. I swear, I never called that psycho or anything. And plus Sarah I kind of wanted to do something." Alex said.

Sarah wasn't sure what to say. So all she did was smile.

Alex got down on one knee and Sarah gasped.

"Sarah Mather would you do the honors of marrying me?"

Sarah began to cry, tears of joy. She couldn't be happier then she was now at this very moment. Sure she had broken up with him, but seeing him like this made her so thrilled. All she ever dreamed of was a life with Alex and now it could finally happen.

"Oh Alex now that I know everything and I realize how much I've missed you. I have two things to say. One I'm so sorry and two YES I'd love to marry you!" Sarah yelled.

Alex picked her up and looked into her eyes. Sarah got the same feeling she had when she did the first time they met. Alex leaned in and gave Sarah the best kiss of her life, so far. Sarah kissed back as if there would be no tomorrow. Well although tomorrow would come around that didn't matter. She just kissed him like it would be the last time they'd kiss. But her and Alex both knew that forever was just around the corner.
