You're Not in This Alone.

chapter 49

All our heads turned towards the back. Frank fell off the couch, and there was a thud from somewhere. Then there were footsteps and another thud followed by a groan. I leaned to look. Mikey was laying on the floor and Ray was half on top of him. Ray got up like nothing happened and acted all cool.

“Soo, what was that, Ray?” Frank asked as he got back on the couch.

“I’m gonna be a dad. Now, excuse me, I need a breath of fresh air.” He walked off the bus after giving a look to Gerard and I.

“Alex, can you watch Jordan for a sec?”

“Sure.”

Gerard and I stepped outside and went to Ray. My eyes were greeted by a diamond ring.

“Ray! Oh, my God!” I said excitedly.

“I was gonna do it during the set today.”

“I wouldn’t,” Gerard said.

“Why?”

“Thousands of fans, not all of them go ‘aww.’ You know what I mean?” I asked.

“So?”

“Remember the UK when we had haters?” Gerard asked.

“Oh. You’re right. The post-warped party?”

“Yeah!” Gerard and I said in unison.

“It’s this Saturday,” Gerard said.

“Cool. Thanks for your help.” He ran back inside.

“I guess we’re the advisors of love,” I said.

Gerard laughed and scooped me up in his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck and held on as he spun around with me. A minute later, I saw my shoe go airborne as I kicked my foot up.

“Ah, shit,” I said, watching it beeline for Matt.

“Matt! Incoming!” Gerard shouted.

“Matthew Good to the rescue!’ he said as he caught my shoe.

“Gee, don’t put me down,” I said. “Thanks, Matt.” I stuck my foot towards him.

“Get that thing away from me!” He backed away.

“What! It’s clean. Gimme my shoe.”

“I like these.”

“They’re girl shoes. Kohls.com,” I said. “Gimme.”

“Here.” He tossed it into my stomach.

I put my shoe on and hopped back on my feet.

“Let’s walk and talk,” Matt said.

“Hang on.” I ran back to the bus to grab Jordan, and went back to
them. “Jordan, my daughter.”

“And how come I never met her?”

“Cause we’ve been hermits all summer,” I said.

“Oh. You all going to the party Saturday?”

“Yep.”

“I can’t believe today’s the last day of Warped,” Matt said, sounding upset.
