Love Makes Blind

Proud.

[Two months later]
[Graduating day]
[Paul's birthday]

Elia Agostino sat on a chair as her mother curled her hair. she was getting dressed and ready to go to the school; not to have lessons, but for her boyfriend’s graduation.
“There, all done.” Mirella looked in the mirror and smiled at the perfect reflection of her daughter. She then looked up at her own, tired face; her smile faltered.

Paul Talley struggled with his tie; no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t seem to get it right. He groaned in frustration and threw it on his bed.
“That doesn’t help you know.” Melinda picked up the tie and helped the son tie it right.
“Thank you.” Paul smiled.
“I’m proud of you. I know your father would be too.” A small tear ran down her cheek.
Paul hugged his mother tightly. “I miss him.”
“I do to. Happy twentieth birthday Paul.” Melinda kissed her son’s cheek. “And don’t forget your gown and cap; I put them on the counter.”

“Ouch!” Elia screamed out when her butt hit the last step of the stairs.
Darin chuckled as he helped her up. “You have to be careful.”
“It’s not my fault the stair tripped me!” Elia defended her self. “Now my butt hurts.”
“You’ll get over it bambina. Now let’s go, you don’t want to miss the show.” Darin led her out to the car; their mother was waiting behind the wheel.
“Of course I don’t; I’m meeting Paul out front of the gym.” Elia grinned, she forgot about her sore end.

“Paul, are you coming?” Jacob when Paul stopped as they were entering the gym.
“I’ll be right in; I’m meeting Elia.” Paul said and glanced towards the parking lot for the tenth time.
Jacob rolled his eyes and disappeared inside.
Paul checked his watch again. Only ten minutes until it started.
A smile spread on his lips when he looked over at the parking lot again.

Elia was helped out of the car by her mother.
“Can you see Paul?” She asked eagerly.
Mirella looked around. “Yes, he’s waiting for you.”
“Let’s go, let’s go.” Elia urged on.
“Calm down or you’ll trip again.” Mirella laughed lightly at Elia’s eagerness.

“Elia!” Paul walked towards them when they were closer.
Elia let go of her mother hand and ran towards Paul. He had to hold out his arm to stop her from running straight past him.
“Happy birthday!” she crashed her lips against his.
Paul smiled into the kiss and held her closer. “Thank you monster. Why are you late?” he wondered.
“I tripped down the stairs.” Elia confessed.
“Are you okay?” Paul became worried instantly.
“Yes, though my butt is a little sore.” Elia frowned.
“I’ll make it better.” Paul kissed her temple and moved his hand down to her but.

Elia giggled and breathed in his scent. “Later wolfie.”
“Why did you trip anyway? I thought you were getting better at walking.” Paul teased.
Elia pushed his chest a little. “These heels are difficult to walk in.”
Paul found it hard not to stare as Elia stretched out her right leg. “Damn, your hot.” He murmured in her ear.
“So you keep saying.” Elia leaned against his chest, feeling a little light headed just by Paul’s presence.

Paul chuckled and kissed Elia again. “I have plans for us later.”
“You do?” Elia felt the hummingbird in her stomach waking. “What sort of plans?”
“I’m not telling; you have to wait and see, I guess.” Paul bushed her hair over her shoulder.
“I’m blind, remember?” Elia pointed a finger towards her blank expression.
Paul laughed before leaning down to her ear. “Then you’ll have to wait and feel.”
Elia blushed deep red.
“I’ll follow you to your seat.” Paul took her hand and walked inside.

Elia was sitting between her best friend in La Push, Leah Clearwater, and Leah’s brother Seth. Sam, Emily, Kim, Jared, Colin and Brady was there too. Plus Elia’s mother and brother and Paul’s mother.
They were there to see Paul, Jacob Embry and Quil graduate.

Elia was very proud of Paul. When Elia first moved to La Push Paul only had C’s, but after Elia came, they studied almost every day together, and now Paul had only a few B’s, but mostly A’s.

“Paul Talley!” Mr. Fodler, the headmaster, called.
Paul thanked the aging man when he received his diploma.
“I happy that you finally graduated Mr. Talley; I was getting a little tired of giving you detention.” Mr. Fodler joked politely.
Paul shook his hand and stepped down.

After the headmaster and the student council leader were done with their speeches, all the graduates threw their caps in the air. Paul didn’t bother to do so; he walked straight over to Elia.
“I’m proud of you.” She smiled and pecked his lips.
“Thank you Elia.” Paul said and hugged her for a long time.
“You guys coming? Emily has the dinner ready!” it was Seth everybody had started moving away.
Paul grinned and swept Elia up in his arms. “Coming!” he said eagerly.
Elia laughed and Paul and Seth joined in as they ran after the other.

Everybody was gathered at Emily’s house; some in the kitchen, some in the living room, but most was out front of the house. Elia loved how her life was; perfect. Her brother knew about the werewolf, which made everything easier. Her mother didn’t know, though, but she spent time with the pack as if she was in on the secret.
