Love Makes Blind

Trust.

[Paul's Point of View]

When there was a knock on the door the next morning while I was preparing breakfast I groaned and ignored it. I was tired of all the food and flowers the towns people brought. The person knocked again and I went to get it before it could wake Elia or the others. I was surprised when I came face to face with Gina and Cara.
“What are you doing here?” I asked surprised.
“Good morning to you too, Mr. Polite.” Cara said to me as the pushed past me into the front room. “Where’s El-”
“Shit, this looks like a flower shop.” Gina stopped when she reached the first living room.

“What do you want?” I asked again.
“Where’s Elia? We need to talk to her.” Gina turned to me and crossed her arms over her chest.
“She’s asleep, can I take a message?” I didn’t want to be so rude, but I was tired and hungry; not a good combination.
“Nope, we’ll go wake her.” Cara grabbed Gina’s arm and they headed for the stairs.
“Please.” I begged. “She’s had barley no sleep last night.”
Their faces fell, as if they just remembered her loss.
“Okay. But Elia needs her friends. How about you go back to whatever you were doing and we’ll go watch her until she wakes.” Gina offered with a smile.

I sighed. “Sure, just be quiet.” I went back into the kitchen and started on the food again.
“Look at her, that poor thing.” I could hear them from upstairs, but I had never heard that side of Cara before, she seemed to be a very rude person to me. I heard some shuffling but I suspected that they lay down beside Elia because they didn’t say anything else.

I finished the food and ate it straight from the pan and burned my tongue. I made more after I had eaten to the rest of the folks.
“Why are Gina and Cara sleeping in Elia’s bed?” I jumped when Leah came into the kitchen.
She got a cup of coffee as I placed a dish with food for her on the table. “Thank you.” She smiled. “I never thought I would see you cook so early in the morning, or cook at all.”
I only grunted to her and turned away.
“Okay.” Leah sensed my crappy mood. “Cara and Gina?”

“They came early and asked for Elia.” I mumbled.
“Fine.” She said. “What are you doing today?”
“Can’t you just shut up?” I glared at her.
Leah held her hands up. “Hey, don’t take your lousy mood out on me Paul.”
“Just forget it.” I picked up the tray with breakfast I had prepared for the girls and carried it upstairs.

The three of them lay with their heads together and slept soundlessly. I knocked on the door before going in and placing the tray on the nightstand.
“Hey! Wake up girls.” I raised my voice and shook the bed with a hand.
“Not yet mom.” Gina mumbled and turned around.
I groaned in frustration. “Wake the fuck up right now or the food gets cold.”
Gina sat up abruptly with a grin on her face; Cara kept her eyes tightly shut but couldn’t hide her yawn.
Elia opened her eyes slowly and looked around. “What are you doing here?” she asked her friends.
Gina shrugged and waved the tray over. I rolled my eyes but handed it to her none the less.

“We needed to talk to you but I guess we fell asleep.” Cara said and sat up.
Elia did the same, she was in the middle. She smiled a little. “It reminds me of the sleepovers we used to have. What did you need to talk about?” Elia grabbed one of the bowls with cereal before Gina got the chance to eat it all.
Cara narrowed her eyes at me. “In private, please.”
I rolled my eyes again before stepping out of the room. I leaned against the wall beside the door and pressed my hands against my temples. Could shape-shifters get headaches?

“Listen, Elia.” Gina started speaking. I could hear everything through the walls. “We know you are grieving over your mother, but we want you to understand that we are here for you and that you can talk with us about anything.”
“And we know that you probably want to be alone right now but if you want you can come with us to the beach today. We promise there’ll be no one else than our friends; you can bring Leah, Darin and Paul too if that make you safer. Friends need to stay together in times like this, right?” Cara said in a kind voice; maybe it was just me she was rude towards.
“I’m not feeling well today, maybe I’m having the flu or something, but I’ll think about it.” Elia said.

“We’ll leave you to it then Elia. Be at the beach in tow hours, if you are not there, we will have to move the party here.” Gina told her.
I walked back into the room just as they got out of the bed.
“You make good breakfast, Paul.” Cara nodded to me.
“Thanks.” I forced a smile.
“See you later Elinora.” Gina kissed her cheek before the two of them left.

“Gina calls you Elinora?” I asked and removed the food tray from the bed.
Elia sighed and slid down in the bed again. “Only when she feels bad for me.”
“Oh.” I said and just stood there; not sure what to do.
“Are you okay Paul? You sounded angry before.” Elia looked at me with concerned eyes.
“Just stressed out and tired.” I confessed.
Elia patted the bed beside her. “Come here baby.”
I smiled and got into the bed. “You’re not allowed to call me baby.”
“I’ll call you exactly what I want to call you.” Elia kissed my cheek lovingly.

I rested my head on her chest and she wrapped her arms around me; it usually was the other way around, but I needed the comfort now.
“You told Cara and Gina you didn’t feel well.”I remembered.
“It helped with food.” She said silently. “I’m sorry for being… difficult.” Elia whispered.
“It’s okay, monster, I understand. We just need to get through this together.” I whispered back.
“I will be good again when the summer ends Paul; and you will go to College. And I’ll finish high school and start college too. And after that we’ll live our life together just the way we won’t.” Elia brushed her hand through my hair and I closed my eyes enjoying the touch.
“I admire your strength.” I murmured.

“It’s my mom. She talked to me. She explained to me. She is the strongest person I have ever known, and probably will know.” Elia turned to her side and laid one of her legs over me, so we lay closer.
“I miss her too, you know.” I smiled at her; we were face to face.
“She told me you asked her for my hand.” Elia looked at me with a peaceful expression.
“I figured it would be my only chance.” I smiled back at her and put a hand on her cheek. “But I won’t ask you yet, we are too young to have suck commitment.”

Elia fell silent.
“Did I say something wrong?” I asked her.
“Can I trust you Paul? When you are at college with all the hot college girls?” She furrowed her brow together.
I couldn’t help but chuckle and rested my forehead against hers and breathed out. Elia closed her eyes. “Of course you can trust me Elia. You are the only one.”
“Do you miss not being able to have sex with every girl you want?” I couldn’t understand where she got all this doubts from.
“No, because you are the only one in the entire world I’ll ever want to make love with.” I kissed her nose.
“You make it sound so beautiful.” She smiled.
“It is beautiful.”

We didn’t say anything for a long time and I thought Elia had fallen asleep when she opened her eyes and looked at me again.
I smiled at her. “Do you want to go to the beach later?”
She nodded. “But only if you rest; I don’t want you to go around on your tip toes, anything can set you off then.”
“I don’t need rest; I just need to calm down.” I told her.

Elia looked me deep in my eyes before locking her lips with mine in a passionate kiss. She climbed on top of me when we broke apart.
“Elia, what are you doing?” I asked breathlessly and put my hands on her hips automatically.
“Helping you calm down.” She said before moving her hands under the tank I was wearing.
I laughed nervously. “I’m not exactly calming down.”
She stared at me lovingly for a second. “Helping you stress down then.”
“What if Darin and Leah hears us?” I asked and held back a moan as she started lifting her top over her head; I was quick to help her.
“I don’t care; I heard them loud and clear last night.” She frowned a little bit.
“Besides, I need you; to get my mind over at something else.”

I couldn’t help but grin at her before I pulled her body down over mine and captured her mouth with mine in a unbreakable kiss.

Look forward to the next chapter! I'll start writing it right away, but it'll take sometime to write it though; I need to be creative.
I thought this chapter would be really short but it is 1 577 words ! I think I wrote my longest chapter ever yesterday till my 'Broken Promises'story. It was over 3 000 words !

Blah, I hate Spotify! I jump in my seat every time the advertisement is : P

I'm studying for an Geography test today, and I love Geography and thought it was easy right until I realized the world is bigger than Europe... I have known that of course, I'm not dumb, but I never really studied Asia, Africa, America and that kind of stuff :P
Do you struggle with Geography? :)

I'll update when I get five new comments !
