Memoirs of a Love Story

Ice Cream kisses and Best Friends Wishes

I could not believe my luck, why did he have to come back and ruin everything; I could not even ring Drew and tell him because he did not exactly know about my fling with a celebrity. I think personally the thought his girlfriend was somewhat idolized by a celebrity would make him think he is a stud. Besides, he had been stuck in Melbourne because apparently planes cannot fly in snowstorms. Therefore, instead of spending a hot night with her boyfriend, I did what any respectable girl would do, curl up in bed, watch the notebook and eat a tub of ice cream.
When the notebook finally finished, and I finished crying I decided I would grab a drink. I went to the cupboard and pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniels, unscrewing it and downing half of the full bottle in a minute. I felt the bronzed liquid burn down my throat, but it did its job. I heard a knock at the door and answered it.

“Czaree?” I said happily, she looked at me and hugged me tightly, “Girl I have missed you tons,” I continued.

“I’ve missed you too, we didn’t get to talk much back at the studio, and you kind of just left. So I rang your mother, god blesses her, and she gave me your address,” she said explaining obviously, how she found my address.

“Are you alone?” I asked, and she nodded silently.

“You know, everyone hates Catalina,” she blurted out after we sat on my couch.

“Everyone except Ryan obviously,” I said in monotone, flicking through the television channels.

“Yeah, but don’t worry about Ryan,” she said, “He can be an idiot sometimes!”

I laughed, oh boy he could be an idiot. He was an idiot for thinking I would take him back when he is engaged to a well rather hot Latin woman. He is an idiot if he thinks I do not miss the way things where before, before I was attacked by teenies and paparazzi. At least when I am doing radio people know my voice, and do not chase after me when they see me in the street.

“Come back to the states with me please,” Czaree, pleaded and I shook my head.

“Girl I can’t afford to move; besides I have a new life here now. I have a boyfriend, a job, a car,” I stated trying to think of more reasons not to go. I did love America and always wanted to go back, but I would never have the money when I wanted to go.

“Well me and Brendan where talking and well, we want you to come live with us,” she said which made me laugh.

“The last thing I want to do is live in a house with an engaged couple who have sex hormones flying around everywhere!” I said trying not to laugh.

“Well it wouldn’t exactly be our house, because well we kind of bought the house next to ours, and we need someone to fill it,” she said looking at me hopefully.

“Can’t you get one of the guys to do it?” I asked, trying to avoid saying yes.

“Yeah they will be there with you,” she said.

“What about a job Czaree? I cannot just hit you and Brenny up for cash when I need it!” I exclaimed.

“All taken care of, we talked to Pete, and he needs someone to manage the guys, so with your extensive knowledge of music and money we suggested you!”

“Czaree!” I exclaimed, “girl you know I am the last person you go to for money advise, I am so disorganized it’s not funny, and my music knowledge goes as far as metal and as low as pop/rock.”

“So what is it a yes or no?”

“Yes okay,” I said jumping up and down and hugging her.

“Thank God you said yes, I was going to have to get your mother to convince you!”

“Why would my mother convince me to move to America when she is totally against it?”

“Well my lovely, she organized the flights and stuff for me, and was over the moon when she heard I was getting married and you are going to be maid of honor!”

“Yeah that’s right bitch I better be! Besides I will be the hottest maid of honor to grace the tabloid magazines!” I said laughing
