The Great Awakening

On December 31, 2009, professional snowboarder Kevin Pearce falls during a practice run for the Olympics. The head trauma is so bad that he’s put into an induced coma. When he wakes up he begins having memory lapses and has to relearn how to walk.

Mia Fulton has been Kevin’s best friend since the wonder years. Since before he was famous and people knew who he was outside of their hometown of Norwich, Vermont. She can’t ever remember a time when she wasn’t glued to Kevin’s side, feeling awkward as everyone stared her down, wondering who she was and why she was with him.

Kevin was Mia’s backbone. They went beyond best friends, but when Kevin gets hurt she begins losing herself. It’s a struggle for him to remember who she is most of the time; she’s no longer holds the leading role in his life and she can’t stand seeing him in such a state. Even through her personal battles she never leaves his side; she makes sure he knows she’s there with him all the time and he has someone to rely on.

Mia is giving up everything to help Kevin, but who’s going to be there to help her?
