The Life I Never Knew I Had

The Life I Never Knew I Had Chapter 17

My dress was hanging on the back of my bath room door.
My heels are thrown in a corner.
I stared at my ceiling. Smiling, replaying what happened a while ago.
Did I fall for the wrong brother?
Apart of me says no and the other is confused.
There was something with Ryan that I didn’t feel with Elliott.
I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair and played with my ends.
Elliott knocked on my door and walked in.
“Hello Princess,” he smiled.
“Hey,” I said forcing a smile on my face.
I started to feel a little bad now. I kissed his brother and liked it.
Oh gosh, Shelby. She would flip if she found out.
I’m horrible.
Elliott lied next to me. “Did you have fun?”
“Yeah, more fun than I thought I would have,”
He grinned and kissed me.
It wasn’t the same anymore.
His kiss wasn’t Ryan’s.
I pulled away and smiled.
Elliott pulled me closer to him and kissed my forehead.
“Good night,” he whispered turning off the light.
“Night,”
“I love you,” he whispered drifting off to sleep.
“You too,” I muttered, lying.
****
I woke up and changed into my work out gear.
Things were back to normal.
I should expect no mercy from Ryan or Lance, but maybe our little kiss would change things.
It was raining outside, so I make sure to dress for the weather.
I headed down stairs to the dining room and sat at the empty table.
A plate of pancakes and eggs were waiting for me.
I eat them quickly and walk to the front door, where the guys would be waiting.
Lance was there, he was stretching.
“I would stretch if I were you. This won’t be fun for you,” he warned.
“Thanks,” I said getting scared.
I started to stretch and tried to calm my nerves.
“Ready?” Ryan asked walking passed me. He took off his shirt, as well did Lance. “You won’t need that,” he said pointing to my shirt.
“But it’s raining,”
“We’re doing a 10K,”
“What?” I asked shocked and scared.
“We’re behind. Shirt off and out side,” he said strictly.
I did what he said and followed Lance outside in the rain.
Lance started to jog and reluctantly followed.
I knew it was only going to get harder.
The rain and the wind weren’t helping me at all.
I pushed through it and tried not to cry.
****
There was no walking, breaks, or stopping.
I ran a full six point something miles and lived.
We walked into the meeting hall and stretched again.
Ryan handed me a real sword. It weighed more and didn’t have a grip.
“No mercy,” he warned.
I nodded and took a deep breath.
I heard Lance behind me and I quickly turned around and blocked him.
I fought with Lance for a while then Ryan joined in.
Two against one is never fun.
They knocked my sword out of my hands and I stared at them wide eyed.
I quickly dodged them and picked it up.
I managed to ‘kill’ Lance moments later.
Now it was my and Ryan.
I knocked the sword out of his hand and he kicked mine out of my hands.
Which hurt a lot.
I glared at him and began to through kicks and punches at him.
Our fight lasted for a while.
“Lance, you can go help Shelby,” Ryan said as I got off the floor.
Ryan charged at me and I kicked him in the stomach.
He doubled over and tackled me to the ground.
We rolled around trying to pin each other to the ground.
He kicked me over, sending me into the air. I hit my head on the wall.
I muttered a curse word or two and got up.
I kicked and punched at him.
He threw me against the wall and pinned me there.
Our breathing filled the room and his warm breath tickled my face.
He filled the empty space between us pressing our foreheads together.
I raised my head to kiss him.
He deepened it quickly then slowly pulled away.
I smiled a little before realizing what just happened.
I pushed him away. “We need to talk,”
“When?” he asked.
“Soon,” I said walking away.
“Jenny!” he called after me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me to him.
“What?”
“I’m sorry, for being a jerk a while ago. It’s just, not fair. Why did Elliott get you?”
“Because, we have an arranged marriage,”
“But, I have feels for you that I never felt before”
I smiled and kissed him. “We’ll talk soon,”
“Okay,” he said letting me go.
I headed up stairs and took a nice long shower. I asked the maids to make me an ice bath as I eat lunch.
Elliott joined me and we talked a little.
I left for my ice bath and he went to help his father with something.
I gave him a kiss and hugged him.
I ran as fast as my sore legs would take me to my bathroom.
I stripped and climbed into the tub.
The ice gave me Goosebumps but helped soothe my sore muscles.
After a good while in the ice I switched to hot water and added bobbles.
I turned on my radio and lit a few scented candles.
I relaxed in the tube, once again, and closed my eyes.
I heard someone in my room, not thinking much of it, until they opened my bathroom door.
I jumped and turned around.
Ryan walked in. “Hey,” he smiled.
“Dude! You scared me,”
“Sorry,” he said closing the door. He sat on the toilet seat and smiled at me. “Ready to talk?”
“Sure,” I said sinking lower in the water.
“What do we do? It’s obvious that we’re into each other,” he said.
“I know,” I sighed running my hand through my hair.
“I think we should ignore our feels for each other. I can’t lie to Elliott or Shelby,”
Ryan sighed. “I can’t hind anymore,”
I smiled a little. “Your gonna have to,”
“Jennifer, can I try to work something out?”
“No! It will break Elliott’s heart along with Shelby. Don’t do anything stupid. Please,”
Ryan sighed and there was a knock on the door.
Ryan hid in the cabinet and Elliott walked in.
“Hey,” he smiled.
“Hi,”
“What to go for a walk or something?”
“Sounds great,”
Elliott kissed me and left the bathroom.
I sighed as Ryan came out of the cabinet.
“Please,”
He nodded his head and left the room.
I drained the tub and got out.
I dried off and got dressed for my little date with Elliott.

(Ryan’s Point Of View)

“Hey,” Shelby said walking into my room.
I smiled at her and patted the spot next to me.
She sat down and took my hand. “My parents want to have dinner with you tonight. My father already spoke with yours. Our dinner is tomorrow,”
I smiled. “Sounds like fun, I’m good with parents,”
“Are you sure?”
I nodded my head. “Don’t worry,” I said moving her to my lap.
She sighed and rested against me. “Okay, I just really like you and I want my parents to too,”
I kissed her. “They will, I promise. Would you care for a game of chess?”
“Sure,” she smiled.
We left my room and headed to the living room, where the game was.

(Jennifer’s Point Of View)

Shelby was in my room talking with me as I did school work.
I did more talking than work.
“Dude, it feels like forever since we talked,” she said.
“I know, I can’t wait till I’m done school,”
“Same, then I can have you all to myself,”
I laughed. “Yeah,”
“So, Doctor Jenny, what are working on?”
“My end of the year project,”
“Why so early?”
I shrugged. “I don’t like cramming,”
“Smart girl,”
We giggled and the front door opened and Elliott and Ryan walked in.
“Would anyone care for a game of Sorry?”
Shelby and I grinned and I closed my laptop for the rest of the night.
*****
“Ladies,” Damien said smiling.
Shelby and I looked up at the dinner table at him.
“I would like to announce that tomorrow you will be planning your weddings,”
Shelby smiled and Ryan took her hand and Elliott and I copied them.
I should be happy, but why am I so sad?
