You're Not Alone.

*Third Person POV*

Every relationship goes through struggles, every love starts with a little concern and a spark of companionship. Every kiss begins with a touch, and every life begins with death.

As Matt held Marie tight in his arms, close to his chest, feeling her body move in sync with his as he breathed, he realized that even though he never thought he could love someone as much as Corinne, he had found someone to prove him wrong. He would take a bullet for Marie, he'd take a hit for her, he'd take his life if it meant keeping her safe now. But just one short year ago, when he was helping his band look for the perfect opening band, he never thought he'd find that person as the five foot eight, blonde haired, loud mouthed frontwoman of a small unheard of band from the East coast. But now he knew it was her, Marie Pristen. He knew she was the one he wanted to spend that forever and always with. That 'till death do us part was meant for each of them.

One year ago to the day, Marie was sitting alone on a stage, taking orders from her sickminded manager. Her heart couldn't have possible imagined being happy again. She was dwelling on Eric's suicide, and she just couldn't bring her heart to believe she'd even find love again. And of course she never conjured up an inkling that it'd be with her favorite singer in the world. Marie was just that short, loud, abnoxious, blonde girl that every had heard of. She never thought that she'd fall for M. Shadows, or he'd actually talk to her, never mind love her.

Marie looked down at her hand as Matt's engulfed it, holding her close to him. She could feel the metal on her left hand brush against his, creating a soft clink noise that was more than beautiful to her, and even though she couldn't feel it, Matt felt it too. That connection that couldn't be created in a science lab with negative and positive ions. It was stronger than anything he'd felt before.

He felt protective of the girl in his arms, he wanted to keep her safe no matter what. His hands ran up and down her arm, feeling each small raised line with each movement of his fingers. If he'd been the cause of so much pain in her life, he wondered how she could let him put a smile on her face. But he wanted to see that smile for the rest of his life, and now he would.

Marie looked up at Matt, his eyes meeting her's as soon as he noticed she'd moved. "Isn't it gorgeous?" She asked, her hand moving to gesture to the sunset.

Matt nodded and kissed the top of her head "Just like you."

Marie's face burnt red hot as she blushed "I love you, Matt."

"I love you too, Marie." He whispered as he watched her silently spinning the wedding band on her left ring finger. It was official, and neither one regretted anything that had happened. Other than Matt, he regretted ever hurting her. But Marie didn't. She said it helped them grow, and Matt could only nod and agree, but he still felt bad about it.

As they watched the sun set, they fixed their eyes on two different spots in the sky. Marie was looking up for the same reasons as Matt.

"I think they'd be happy." He whispered "That we're happy.."

"Yeah.." Marie whispered as she sunk into Matt's chest, snuggling her body against his in the warm sand "I think they're just happy we're not alone."

"Yeah." Matt nodded, "I can almost hear her." He whispered quietly.

Marie looked up at him with a confused expression "Did I just marry a looney toon?" She giggled, her smile contageous and causing Matt to smile.

"Possibly." He nodded and kissed her forehead "Probably. But don't worry. You're not alone." He smiled. Marie looked up at him in confusion "I married one too."

She laughed and gently pushed his chest, pinning him down in the sand as she kissed his chee "I love you." She whispered.

"I love you too." He whispered back "I'll never stop, as long as I'm breathing."

Marie smiled and laid down on his chest, Matt rested his arms in the curve of her back and moved them so they were in a more comfortable position. Marie's head rested on his arm, her body next to his but tucked up close.

"You're so warm." She laughed and moved her shoulders in the sand, forming it to her so she was more comfortable.

"You're weird."

"You love it." Marie smiled up at the night sky as it became darker "I like the nighttime."

"Me too." Matt whispered "It's so.."

"Nighttime-ish." Marie laughed as did Matt, his body rumbling against her's.

Marie closed her eyes, finally for the first time in the past six years, being content and happy with where she was. She was married; had the best group of friends ever; head of her own restaraunt, which was staffed by the girls and her old bandmates; and she had a bright future.

Matt snaked one of his arms over and rested it on her hip, feeling that it was finally ok to admit he was in love again. That feeling of guilt was gone. He had a wife that loved him, and he loved her so much he almost thought it wasn't possible; the band was winding down but still functioning; they converted the old group house into a studio, but left all the bedrooms the exact same, especially Corinne's.

But Marie and Matt knew that moving on was good, beacuse as long as they had eachother it was true, neither one would ever be alone.
