Nothing Else Matters

There he sat alone in the forest. The cool night air kissing the skin on his arms. Though the weather outside was crispy and cool his blood boiled with anger and shame. Why couldn't he tell her how he felt? Why did he act so stupid? Why did he think he could ever be with someone like her? He asked himself these questions over and over again his brain running through scenarios like a computer. He layed down in the bed of soft grass and thought and thought as the sky grew darker and the stars brighter. He thought for hours before his eyes closed slowly letting him slip quickly and mercifully into slumber
It was the next day when Adam felt a softly graze on his cheeck he swatted his hand at the sensation and tried to go back to sleep. Again the soft senstion graced both his cheecks this time. Adam opened his eyes quickly with a bit of annoyance only to find his face inches away from Eves. His face changed almost immeditally he was embarassed and happy and lost all at once. His face took up a blank stare while Eve looked at him with her understanding eyes.

"Hi....I just wanted to know if you wanted to watch me sing in the school talent show....I would like to see you there....but its ok if you can't...I have to go now but I hope to see you there" she said getting up quickly dropping her hands from his cheecks turning to rush away then making a 180 turn
"7.00 sharp. Dress nice" she added then hurried away a red blush covering her face.

His voice choked from him by the suddeness of the situation he was unable to ansear her though he had much to say. She was gone long before he had worked up the courage to even say a word and even then it would only be heard by the tree's so he remained quite, But suddenly he remembered something that made him jump in excitement look around frantically.He had nothing nice to wear to the event! His t shirt was torn and wrinkled. His long pants were baggy and torn as well. The shorts? Forget it.
So Adam turned on his heels and started towards town completely unsure of what was lieing ahead of him on his road to adventure. He got to town and immeditaly was a bit shocked by how open it was. Not at all like the forest with the canopy of leaves abouve him. He aimlessly walked on the stone path through the streets till he came across a man cutting the grass on his lawn.
"Do you know where I could get some new clothes?" He asked the man slowly and politely as he could.
The man looked at him surprised to see such a dirty man in their town where everyone was clean and tidy
"Well son I could give you some of my old clothing. They look just like new and they are preety nice looking if I do say so myself " he said giving a chuckle at the last part
"Only one thing son before I give the clothing to you. You have to finish mowing my lawn I have company coming over....." he said to Adam trailing off a bit before turning and going inside leaving Adam to finish the job. It took a good part of a hour but when the job was done it looked damn good. Just as he finished he saw a car pull up and a women in a short skirt got out. The man from before almost ran outside to meet her and when they meet they kissed rather heavily right in front of Adam. The strange thing to Adam was that the man had a gold ring but the girl didn't. He pondered that all the way back to his forest carrying his new clothes before finally coming to the conclusion
"Those people are just plain strange"
