Restart My Heart

But I know I saw a light in you

'You are useless'

"Shut up," I cursed accidently outloud

"Pardon Levi?" that oh-so-sweet voice called. The second I saw Stephen's angelic, adorably worried face, my heart melted and all my anger magically washed away

"Nothing, nevermind," I smiled innocently, completely lost in his almond shape chocolate brown eyes. They looked good enough to eat. He looked good enough to eat

He didn't look convinced but thank fully dropped it, fiddling with the hem of his over-sized gym T

'No matter what you do'

Curse that danged Alex! His words have been trampling all over my mind all day, leaving muddy tracks. It was finally P.E, my most anticipated class of the day but I still couldn't focus.
We were sitting, in our gym shorts, on the bleachers outside waiting for the new teacher.

A breezy wind blew lightly, causing me to slightly shiver in my short black gym shorts and purple tank

"I would give you something but all I have is my shirt," Stephen said thoughtfully, indicating with his index his T and basketball shorts

C'mon Levi, I thought to myself , you finally get your alone time with Stephen but all you think about is Alex!?! The jerk that broke your heart!

I smiled sweetly at him, my breath completley taken away, "How about a hug?". He smiled and pulled me into a large bear hug. To him, it was just another friendly hug but for me? A golden chance.

I rested my head on his shoulder and whispered in Stephen's ear, "Let's ditch,"

He looked at me for a moment like he was studying my face then smiled,"If that's what you want," I couldn't help but notice his eyes sparkling with amusement. If the most I could do right now was amuse him, that was honestly enough for me.

We slipped off the bleachers inconspiculously, careful not to be noticed by any pestering students

"Where to?" he asked, leaning against a pole from the back of the bleachers

I thought for a moment. The sun showered down its warm rays, making me--chessily-- warm and fuzzy.

"Race you to the woods!" I suddenly cried and started sprinting, getting a head start. The woods were a bunch of trees behind the field, off school property; a perfect place to ditch because the teachers never check.

"Hey, that's not fair," he yelled not moving

"Last one there owes the other a cookie!" I yelled without slowing down.

"Levi, your going down!" I heard Stephen call from behind

I turned back and saw that he really was catching up. Wow, is that boy fast!

I stuck out my tongue playfully and turned back around, running and laughing

"Hey, you two!" I heard a teacher call.

I looked back to Stephen and he had a 'oh-shit-we're-so-dead' face.

"Run!" I screamed and ran even faster.

Once I landed on shady grass, I slowed down and suddenly felt strong arms grab my waist and pull me to the ground. I fell on top of Stephen, squealing as I tried to catch my breathe while giggling like a deranged child.

We both laughed and laughed and somehow, our face met, our breathing caught at the same steady pace

His face was inches apart from mine

I held my breath as I stared longingly into those delicious twinkling eyes afraid to look away

This was the ultimate test. If he liked me then he would kiss me. And if he just sees me as a friend? Pull away and act like nothing happened.

I blinked, waiting patiently.

Stephen shifted his head and kissed my cheek.

I layed there, stunned as Stephen pulled himself up, leaning against the old oak tree and patting the grass beside him,

I got up and sat beside him, not knowing what else to do. What did it mean? A kiss on the cheek?

I rested my spinning head on his shoulder and closed my eyes, quieting my stupid thoughts and just listened to birds chirping, tree leaves rustling and Stephen's steady breathing.

I breathed in the same pace as Stephen's, trying to take in how perfect this moment was. At that moment, I really didn't care whether he liked me as just a friend or more. All I cared was being able to spend an amazing alone time with the one I love. It was breathlessly perfect

So perfect; like magic.

"Hey, Stephen?" I opened my eyes and tilted my head to face him

"Hmm?" he hummed, opening one eye

"Magic," I blurted. He opened his other eye, raising a confused eyebrow. I tried to cover it up by asking casually "Do you believe in magic?"

Knowing other guys my age, I was half expecting Stephen was going to laugh, tease me and then attempt to make out.

I should know.

"Well..." he trailed on, tapping his chin thoughtfuly like he was considering a good answer so he wouldn't hurt my feelings.

I shook my head, "Nevermind, that was a dumb question."

"Depends on what kind," he finally said, ignoring me. You gotta love him

"Then, what kind?" I added, praying to dear Lord he couldn't hear my heart pounding or somehow read my thoughts

He smiled, "Love,"

Can this boy read minds?

"Um.. Levi?" he asked, obviously noticing I had just frozen.

I jumped right into his chest and wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Woah, there," Stephen chuckled

I looked up from my position, which was probably really sexual, with my but sticking out. His smiled shined down on me, thankfully not noticing how awkward my position was. I couldn't help but smile and lift my neck up to peak him carefully on the cheek

There can definetley not be a more perfect guy in this world.

"That's so cheesy!" I giggled

He looked at me for a second then chuckled along with me, "I guess so."

"Love," I smiled to myself

"Did you say anything, Levs?" Stephen asked me with his considerate brown eyes.

"Nothing, Stephy," I grinned

"Stephy?" he quirked an eyebrow a small teasing smile playing on this lips

"Yes, Stephy! Since you called me Levs," I cooed

"Levs, Stephy. Stephy, Levs," he chanted to himself

"Stop it, it's weird," I giggled

"Stephy is not weird. Maybe Levs but not Stephy," he faked anger

"No way! Levs is way better then Stephy! Stephy sounds like a hookers name!" I joked

He looked offended

"A hot hooker," I smiled innocently, bating my eyelashes

"Well, Levs sounds like a prostitutes name, but an ugly one,"

"Hey, I tried being nice!"

Stephen opened his mouth but just before he said anything the school bell rang

"Lets go, Levs," he said getting up, offering a hand to me

We walked side by side out the woods onto the field. Then, he swung his arm over my shoulder

I smiled up at him as we walked back to reality

"You know Stephen, you owe me a cookie,"
