My name is Monroe Key.
I was born in Broadway, New York.
It's pretty glamorous here, but I'm not into all this "fashion comes first" and "if you live in New York, you're cool".
I was born without a scream or grunt from my mother.
The doctors were amazed.
I did not cry, I did not smile.
The doctors were even more amazed.
One doctor got so excited, he claimed I must be a "Second Jesus."
This is why they are saying I was gifted at birth.
My mother got rather annoyed, we're not Christian or Catholic.
She also wanted me to be raised up normally, as an ordinary child, with an ordinary life.
This never happened.
As soon as my mother brought me home, I was taken to my cot.
I was left alone for an hour.
When my mother came back, she screamed.
I had somehow turned into a robin.
I got upset when she screamed, and I turned back into a child.
My mother thought she was imagining.
Trust me, she wasn't.
I am Monroe Key. I am a shapeshifter.
I do not know how to control my powers.
