Seize The Day

Seize The Day (Part 56)

It's been a few weeks since the guys have been here and I miss them.

There's no point in lying.

I'm not the only one affected by their absence though.

Emily took it pretty hard the first week.

She just wanted Zacky with her.

I understand.

It's hard for Emily to be with someone and not be with them.

I've been helping her through it though.

I've been trying to keep her as busy at the bar with a little help from Mac.

It helped in the beginning until I remembered that's where she met Zacky.

I was currently dragging Emily to my apartment with a bag full of carrots.

Some people ate junk food, we ate carrots.

The second we got on my apartment level I saw a figure leaning against my door.

I stopped Emily and sort of moved her behind me.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked angrily.

I don't like random people waiting on my doorstep.

"Now is that any way to talk to your bestest buddy in the world?" Came Zacky's mocking voice.

There was literally a second of silence before Emily jumped up and down like a chipmunk on speed.

"ZACKY!!" She yelled, her voice full of happiness.

She sprinted to Zacky who pushed himself off the wall and caught Emily with his open arms.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist.

I saw him squeeze her tightly and his face seemed to relax.

"I missed you, baby." Zacky murmured.

"I missed you too." She whispered.

"Nice to know I was missed too." I said in a sarcastic and loud voice.

Zacky let out a laugh and Emily turned and looked at me with an embarassed face.

"I'm sorry, Cee. I couldn't help it." Emily said.

"I'm just kidding Emmybear. I know you missed him." I said with a smile as I walked up to them.

"Took you long enough, Vengeance." I said with a smirk.

"Nice to see you too, Cee." Zacky said, putting his arm around me in an embrace without putting Emily down.

I unlocked my door and walked inside, waiting for the two love birds to walk in too.

"You by yourself, Zacky?" I asked.

"Yeah, I snuck away before the guys could stop me." He said with a laugh.

"You guys take a seat and I'll make us all something to eat." I said.

Zacky sat down on the couch with Emily still on his lap.

I watched her wrap her arms tighter around Zacky's neck and snuggled into his chest.

I heard them softly whispering to each other and I smiled as they caught up.

I kept it simple and made Mac N' Cheese.

"It's ready you guys." I called. Zacky got up and he pulled Emily up by the hand, keeping her by his side.

They sat down side by side and we laughed and joked over dinner.

When we were done we sat on the couches and watched Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

That movie is fucking hilarious and we couldn't stop laughing.

It was about two in the morning when we all decided to go to bed.

Zacky and Emily chose to stay at my place so him and her could stay together.

I set them up on the pull out couch and made sure they had enough blankets.

I went to bed but I couldn't sleep.

I was sooo happy for Emily.

I haven't seen her this happy in a while.

I couldn't help but feel the cold sting of jealousy.

I used to have that and now I don't.

I was shocked out my thoughts when my phone started ringing.

I quickly answered it before the noise could wake Emily and Zacky.

"Hello?" I whispered harshly, wondering who was calling me at this hour.

"Hey." I heard Brian's deep voice over the phone.

My eyes widened in shock.

"Brian?" I asked.

"The one and only." He said in a cocky voice.

"Haha. How did you get my number?" I asked skeptically.

"Val." He said.

I should have known.

Surprisingly I wasn't mad like I usually would have been.

I was more relieved.

"Hey. What are you doing up so late?" I asked with a laugh.

"I can't sleep. What about you? Isn't it past your bed time, little missy?" Brian asked.

I could tell he was smirking.

"Very funny. No, can't sleep either." I grumbled.

"That makes two of us." He chuckled.

"That it does. Are you missing anything?" I asked.

"Umm, no. Am I?" He asked, completely confused.

"Are you sure you're not missing anything? Maybe a toothbrush, your gel or maybe your best friend?" I asked sarcastically.

"Oh! You're talking about Zacky!" Brian practically yelled.

"Congratulations ladies and gentleman! He does have a brain." I said.

I laughed into the silence.

"Aren't you just a comedian." Brian said lowly.

"I do try. Do you think I have any chance of making it in stand up comedy?" I ask.

"Oh yeah. You'll be real famous." He said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Thanks so much for the vote of confidence. I'll make sure and put you in my speech if I ever win an award." I said with a laugh.

He let out a laugh and I quieted down so I could hear the deep, rich sound of it.

It was beautiful.

"Why are you so quiet all of a sudden?" Brian asked.

"No reason." I said.

"I can never figure out what you're thinking when you do that." Brian said in a low voice.

"When I do what?" I asked, curious as to what he was talking about.

"When you say stuff like that. You use that indifferent voice and I can't tell if you're lying or not." Brian said.

"Well, you could always asks me, you know." I pointed out.

"That's true. But how would I know if you're telling me the truth?" He asked, curiously.

"You don't. There in lies the mystery." I said with a smile.

"Indeed. Well let's talk some more. Let's see if I can pick your brain for any more information." He said.

I let out a laugh.

"Good luck with that." I said, laughing again.

"I like a challenge." Brian said, cockily.

You have no idea what you're getting yourself into I said to myself.
