Gabe Saporta has been a struggling alcoholic for years. He always had issues with being sociable and was always depressed. He never had a girlfriend throughout all his teenage years and now that he was 23, it was a still too hard for him to sober up and actually be a pleasant, approachable person.

Leila Farris, on the other hand, was a drop dead gorgeous girl. She had the looks of a super model and never really acknowledged it. She was always very humble and always put everyone else's feelings and needs before her own. The only thing not so beautiful about her was that she was very very very... VERY shy.
