Parallel Worlds

“Christina!”
Christina mumbled and cursed in her sleep as a hand shook her shoulder violently.
“Christina! Wake up you stupid ginger!” Christina opened her eyes gently to find a younger brown haired girl sitting on the bed next to her smiling wildly
“Duckie, I swear to god if you don’t get off this bed right now and let me sleep I’ll-”
“Fine then” Duckie sighed getting off the bed, “not my problem if you want to stay in bed and sleep instead of being sociable and going to this Elliot Minor concert” Christina’s eyes shot back open “what? Elliot Minor concert? When!?” Duckie smiled and dived back on the bed next to Christina
“There’s an Elliot Minor concert tonight, Ed invited you and Becca along, but of course the rest of us are coming as well” Duckie looked at the time on her phone “and seeing as though its 4:00 now you better get your arse out this bed and start getting ready” Christina looked from Duckie to her watch “shit it is! I must’ve been asleep a while” Christina sat up feeling surprisingly more refreshed and less groggy than the day before. Duckie dived back up
“Oh well, I’ll let you get ready then” and with that she darted back out the room. Christina smirked at Duckie’s hyperness and got up out of her bed to get changed.

After getting changed into a pair of red skinny jeans and an Elliot Minor t-shirt and putting on her makeup, Christina emerged from her room to see the usual havoc occurring around the house. The house in which Christina lived in and shared consisted of a big group of friends, all Elliot Minor fans, which had met across the social networking site called Twitter. They all pitched together to buy this house to live together and, admittedly, it was the best thing they could have ever done; everyone in the house were very close to each other and all shared the same interests so there were very rarely any arguments.

Christina padded down the stairs into the kitchen where her best friend Sarah and a very bubbly Harley were making food for the rest of the household. In the centre of the big kitchen sat a huge table where most of the household could be found sitting around chatting and waiting for food to be made. Christina went over to the fridge and picked out a can of Relentless energy drink before finding a seat at the table in between Becca and Duckie. Seconds later Duckie sat a plate in front of Christina, nearly knocking her energy drink over making Christina gasp
“Eat!”
“I’m not hungry though,” Christina said pushing the plate out of the way and bringing her energy drink closer to her
“Christina, you haven’t eaten properly in months, now you’re home there’s no excuse, now do what Duckie says” Becca said with a stern hint to her voice
“I’m not hungry though!” Christina repeated, “… and don’t growl at me you bloody great bear!” Christina said laughing; Becca hit her arm and scowled before giving in and laughing with her
“I’ll steal your energy drink if you don’t eat” Duckie said smiling evilly, Christina’s eyes widened and she clutched her can tighter
“You wouldn’t dare!”
“Ohh but I would” Duckie said sliding her hand closer to Christina’s drink
“I wouldn’t risk that if I were you, she’ll probably bite your hand off Duckie” Sarah said laughing as she set more plates of food on the table, Duckie sighed and folded her arms as she sat back in her seat. Christina sighed
“Well anyway I’m not eating if you’re not Duckie”
“Yeah but I never eat!” Duckie giggled
“Well then, I’m not eating” Christina said with a smug smile on her face
“Fine” Duckie sighed in defeat; Christina smiled back at her.

When it was time to go everyone picked up their bags and jackets and piled out the house and began to walk down the street to the venue. Thankfully the house that they’d settled on was only a 5 minute walk to the York venue so it was easy to get there.
The mass of friends got to the venue and after a while the doors opened and they were let inside. Once inside the big group split up, some of the older friends heading to the bar, others finding a nice comfortable spot at the side and the hardcore members of the household elbowing their way to the front. As Christina was still feeling a bit unstable having only been out of hospital for a few days, she found a safe spot at the side of the crowd with Becca and Sarah, which was surprisingly quite near the front, the majority of people gathering in the middle.

The crowd cheered loudly as the support act finished and made their way off the stage, ready for Elliot Minor to make their way onto the stage soon after. Christina stared into space, it dawned on her that perhaps not eating beforehand was a bad idea, the pain in her stomach was coming back and it was coming back twice as bad. She grabbed onto Becca’s arm as the room started to spin, Becca and Sarah turned to Christina
“erm… Christina? You ok?” Christina blinked harshly as her eyesight started to falter, she shook her head, her knees going week. She felt one of her friends catch her as her legs buckled underneath her, her body falling into darkness…

“Go get her a drink of water, she might just be dehydrated” Christina heard a faint voice say. It felt as though she was lying across a sofa, the person who had just spoken seemed to be right next to her, hanging over her. Their voice was low and soft, clearly the voice of a male. Her eyes flickered open slowly to meet those same pair of chocolate brown eyes that she’d woken to the last time that she’d blacked out.
“Hey” Ed smiled, moving Christina’s hair gently out of her face, “you’ve been out a while” Christina looked at him funny
“W-what time is it?” Ed looked at his watch
“11pm” he smiled, Christina’s eyes widened
“What!? I was out for the whole concert!?” she said sitting up
“I’m afraid so” Ed said laughing softly as he gently stroked the side of Christina’s face, Christina could feel her whole body melting under his touch. Christina jumped as the door to the backstage area where her and Ed were flew open and Becca came stumbling in with a plastic cup of water in her hand, spilling some of it on the floor and down her top, Alex followed in behind her giggling. Becca cursed and wiped her top before going over to Ed and handing him the cup of water who handed it to Christina to take a small sip from it. Christina looked around the room
“Where’s Sarah gone?” she said confusingly
“Ohh she went to tell everyone just to go home and that we’d catch up with them in a bit once you’d woken up, it’d would have been a bit awkward carrying you home” Becca said giggling, “other than that the last time I saw her she was talking to Dan” Christina and Becca smirked at each other, both on the same wavelength, they knew Sarah took a fancy to Dan. Christina shifted on the sofa so Ed could sit next to her as Becca sat on the opposite sofa with Alex. Soon after Sarah came through the door closely followed by Dan who sat down with the rest and chatted away with everyone. Ed put his arm around Christina and whispered in her ear “sorry I didn’t say bye to you at the hospital, I didn’t want to wake you up” Christina shivered a little at the sound of Ed’s voice in her ear, she smiled at him
“It’s ok, I forgive you” Ed smiled back and kissed her head gently, Sarah looked over at Christina and burst out laughing at the happy expression on her face, Dan looked at Sarah with a funny expression “what’s so funny?”
“Nothing, nothing” Sarah said as she smiled at Christina. The sound of “Shiver” filled the room as Becca’s phone went off, she picked it up and read the message she’d just received, “everyone’s wondering where we are… did you text everyone Sarah?” Becca said looking at Sarah, Sarah flushed slightly “well… not entirely no… I kind of got… distracted” Dan smirked and put his arm around her waist, Becca raised an eyebrow
“… Right ok… Well anyway we better head back” She got up then paused and turned back to Alex “… but we might need a bit of help bringing Christina back, her legs will be a bit weak after fainting… you could help us bring her back” Becca smiled sweetly at Alex, Alex smirked back “if you want us to come back with you we will” he giggled, “I’ll go get Ali and Teddy then we’ll go” Becca smiled wildly and dived on Alex and hugged him “yeyyyy!”
