I Need You

one.

He sighed. He hadn’t meant for it to turn out like it had, it just…did. Swinging his legs over the side of the bed, he sat up. He let out another long breath, running his hands through his hair. Jack was his best friend; he’d understand why he did it, right? They’d still be friends after all of this, wouldn’t they? Alex hoped they’d still be on speaking terms, but in reality, he knew Jack would never forgive him. He pulled his phone out of his pocket. Quickly, he began pressing buttons, typing a new text message.

Are you OK?

That was stupid, he knew Jack wasn’t okay, else they’d be sat together, laughing and joking.

We need to talk. Meet me at the park?

No. Jack wouldn’t want to speak, and if he did, he’d just shout.

Making a loud, angry noise at the back of his throat, Alex threw his phone across the room. He leant backwards so he was lying down, rubbing his eyes. He removed his hands as tears began to form. Alex never cried, never. But the thought of never speaking to Jack again was too much for him. He needed Jack, his best friend.
