Mechanical Joy
A Near Fatal Incident:
I had been walking in the forest, then I had seen, what I thought I saw. What I thought, could not be on this side of the country? Only what I saw, clearly had been moving through the forest. A centaur.
The scene obviously had startled me, disturbed the sense of self, and the sense of reality. For a while, I had thought I must have been dreaming.
Maybe I should have been looking out for myself better. Something went wrong, and I lost my footings, creating a land slide. Not all that much, just enough for me to get myself buried to my chest. In the process, I had broken my spine, and several bones in my legs, including the hip bone.
Like this, I could certainly have died, at the very spot. Maybe just as well, I lost consciousness, after a few minutes, or that's how long I think it was. I know I lost blood, and quite a lot of it.
What happened next, is entirely out of my control, since I'm unconscious. Furthermore, I have no recollection of it. Next thing I knew, I'm at the hospital.
