I Like the Way You Wear Those Faded Blue Jeans

I ran behind Steve as he spun around facing the big black things. I was shaking really hard but I could still see what Steve was doing he put his arms out to stop me from getting hurt. Next thing I knew Steve was being picked up off the ground and the smaller one was grabbing me. Donna and Brian came back around the corner with the van laughing silly. Uncle J put down Steve who was laughing and G put me down. Everyone was laughing except me. I tried to laugh along but no one really noticed.

We packed up in record time. The whole time Steve complained about all the hours of footage we had to go through. Once we where packed up I climbed in the van and we headed back to the hotel. The drive was quite. I was a little upset at what happened I figured that if I went back and went to sleep that when I got up in the morning I would be happy. We got back to the hotel and I wondered to my room. I changed to my pajamas and crawled into bed. But I couldn’t sleep. I got up and decided I wanted to talk to someone. I decided my best choice was Donna. I pulled on my slippers and started to walk to Donna’s room. On my way down Grant walked past me.

“Hay Bunny Girl” Grant said referring to my pajamas
“Hey G” I smiled
“Where are you going” He asked
“To talk to Donna” I said
“She’s asleep” Grant said
“Oh Okay” I said
“How about you talk to me” Grant said
“Nah it was nothing important anyway” I put on a fake smiled
“Okay then” Grant said walking off to his room

I stood in the hall for a few minutes before walking to another room. I knocked on the door and waited for an answer.

“Whose there” the voice called
“It’s me” I called through the door
“Hey Zora” Steve said opening the door
“Hi Steve” I smiled
“What brings you here” He asked
“I can’t sleep” I said
“Well come in” Steve smiled

I walked into his room which mirrored mine. I sat down in the chair in the corner while he took a seat on his bed.

“Steve I can’t get tonight out of my head” I said
“What about to night” Steve asked
“Well the fact that I got embarrassed on TV then Uncle J decided to prank us and he knows I don’t like pranks” I said trying to hold back tears
“Embarrassed how?” Steve asked
“When we where in the owners house and you said we should build our friendship first” I said
“Well we should” Steve said
“Can I make one thing clear if we did get serious then we broke up there won’t be a friendship afterwards” I said
“You’re right I’m sorry” Steve said
“Apology accepted” I smiled
“Now what about pranks you don’t like them” Steve said
“I never have I had to stop my self from crying on camera” I said
“So you don’t like them full stop” Steve said

“Come on are we going to get her or not” John said
“Yeah give me five” Jason said
“What’s taking so long” Zora called
“Uncle J will have the power back on soon” John called
“So what am I doing” Jason said
“Your going to go in there and put the video in the VCR then tell her to tell you when the power is back on” John said
“Okay got it” Jason said
“Hay Zora I’m going to put this Video in and can you tell me when the power comes on” Jason asked softly
“Yes Uncle J” Zora said
“Okay go down and turn the switch in the power box” John said
“Okay” Jason said

Jason walked down and flipped the power switch.

“The powers on” Zora called
“Okay” Jason called
“So what are you watching” John said walking in
“Hercules” Zora said
“Oh wow” John said

“We sat and watched the movie for a few seconds before I realized they had fixed the Video” I said “After a few minutes the kids movie flicked to some horror movie then a face jumped up on the screen, I screamed and jumped on to Johns lap by the time uncle J got to the room, John was laughing his head off and I was balling my eyes out” I said
“I’m sorry to hear that but I promise I would never do that to you” Steve said
“I know you wouldn’t” I smiled
“Come here” Steve said

I got up and walked over to him. Steve stood up and pulled me into hug. I just stood there in his arms. I knew Steve cared about me. Steve let me go and looked at me.

“I wasn’t exactly truthful earlier” Steve said sitting on the bed
“What do you mean” I asked sitting next to him
“When I said I liked you well more it’s more like I love you” Steve said
“You know how I feel” I smiled
“But we can’t get serious because one of us would have to leave TAPS” Steve said
“Remember what I told you” I said
“Well yeah” Steve said
“It’s okay with Uncle J as long as we tell him when we make it serious” I smiled
“Well maybe we could make it serious right now” Steve smiled
“Really” I smiled
“Really” Steve smiled

Steve leaned forward I did the same. Our lips connected in a soft simple kiss. When we broke apart I smiled and stood up.

“Where are you going” Steve asked
“Follow” I said

Steve got up and followed me. He picked up the key for his room and took my hand in his. When we walked out into the hall he got the idea.

“Do we have to do this now” Steve asked
“Yes” I said
“Come on there most likely asleep” Steve said
“When I was heading to your room Grant was heading to Uncle J’s” I said
“Maybe he left already” Steve said
“I’ll wake him up” I grinned
“Your evil” Steve said
“You love me” I smiled
“Too true” Steve nodded

We reached Uncle J’s room and I knocked on the door 3 times (our secret knock). Grant opened the door.

“Hay you two what’s up” Grant smiled
“We need to talk” I said Grant looked down at mine and Steve’s hands
“Okay come in” Grant said

Steve and I walked into the room where Uncle J was sitting on his bed. That when I noticed there where two big beds. So that’s why Grant says you can find me in Jay’s room.

“Uncle Jay, Grant, Steve and I have something to tell you” I said
“What’s up Zora” Uncle J asked
“Steve and I have become serious” I said

I could feel Steve beside tense like a statue almost like he was waiting to get yelled at by Jason. Grant just stood there with his arms crossed and Uncle J looked like he was trying to find something to say.

“I knew this was bound to happen but it’s a little soon don’t ya think” Uncle J said
“Well we both know we have the same feelings and all so why not” I said
“Well as long as it doesn’t affect TAPS in anyway it’s fine” Grant said
“It won’t I promise” I smiled
“Well you two best go you have to go all through that evidence tomorrow plus Brians brought another case to our attention” Uncle J said
“Good old Brian” I said as Steve and I left the room

Steve and I walked back down the hall to his room.

“So maybe we should go to bed” Steve said
“Can I stay with you” I asked
“I guess” Steve smiled

Steve opened the door to his room and I ran in and jumped on his bed. I sat on Steve’s bed and waited for him to be done with what ever he was doing. Steve came out of the bathroom and walked over to the bed. His pant’s where in his hand so he threw them to the ground before pulling of his shirt. Steve climbed under the covers while I just sat and looked at him.

“Are you going to hop into bed or are you going to just sit and look at me all night” Steve smiled
“Oh right sorry” I said as I climbed under the covers
“I hope you don’t mind I like sleeping away from the door” Steve said
“Nah that’s okay I like to be close to the door” I smiled
“Your like a little child do you know that” Steve smiled
“I have been told that by Grant but aren’t we all kids at heart” I said
“Yeah pretty much” Steve agreed

I laid down and face the door. A few minutes later I felt Steve’s arm wrap around my waist pulling we close against him. Our frames matching perfectly, I soon feel asleep in Steve’s arms. Steve, my Steve and no one else’s.
