I Like the Way You Wear Those Faded Blue Jeans

“I’m Zora” I said
“Zora No, I named you Lora” the lady shook her head
“I’m Zora” I said again
“No I named you Lora you were my daughter and they look you from me” She cried

I looked at Steve with pleading eyes. He just shook his head. I didn’t want to her around I wanted her gone. Here sits a lady who claims to be my mother when for all I know she could be insane.

“I want my father” I said looking at Steve
“His on his way” Steve said
“How long” I asked
“Say 10 minutes at the most” Steve said
“I’ll be in my room” I said walking off

How I knew was my room was I’ll never know. I guess because it’s my house I know were things are. I walked into my room and sat on the end of the bed. There was a soft meow behind me. I turned and there curdled up was fuzzy butt. I picked her up and ran my hands through her silky soft fur. The door opened and Steve walked in. He walked over and sat beside me. I looked up at him feeling that something was wrong. He moved closer to me. I couldn’t help but lean up our lips touched in a soft kiss. Ever thing came back to me and I pulled away from Steve.

“You lied to me” I said
“What do you mean?” Steve asked
“You told me you were with Amy that’s a lie your with me and Jay and G do know because we went and told them not long after we got together” I said
“What else do you remember?” Steve asked
“Everything” I said

Just then there was a knock at the door. I took Steve’s hand in mine and walked to the front door. I opened the door and smiled.

“G or should I call you dad” I asked
“Dad will do fine” G smiled
“I remember everything” I grinned
“You do” Dad beamed
“I do” I said
“So what did Steve call me over for” G asked
“There is a lady here who says she is my mom” I said
“Where is she?” Grant asked

We all walked into the lounge room were the lady still sat.

“Georgia” Dad said
“Grant” she smiled
“Wow waits your Zora’s mother” Dad said
“Yes” Georgia said
“So that resulted in this” Dad said
“I guess so” Georgia giggled
“I don’t understand” I said
“Well she is your mother” Dad said
“No she isn’t my mother died in a car crash” I said
“Nope Georgia and I use to date back in high school, then she just left school I never talked to her or even seen her again until now” Dad said
“I fell pregnant with you and so I left school, when you were 2 I put you to bed and your uncle kidnapped you I never saw you again I tried to get you back but no matter what I did I wasn’t aloud near you” Georgia said “Your uncle, auntie and cousin died in the crash you survived”
“So you’re my parent’s” I said letting it all sink in
“Yes” Dad said
“Wow” I said
“A lot to take in I know but at least you have some form of family right” Grant said
“Right” I smiled

I hugged Grant before hugging Georgia. I was so happy I had parents I wasn’t alone anymore. Just then an idea popped into my head.

“When can I go on a case” I asked
“Once you have all clear from the doctor” Dad said
“Fine can we have a party” I asked
“Why” Steve asked
“Well because I just got my memory back and I found my parents” I said
“That sounds fair” Dad said
“Yay Party” I yelled “We need to organise a date say this Saturday”

I wondered off saying thing while everyone laughed at me.

*Grant’s P.O.V*

“Jay said she doesn’t like her birthday so each year she tries to forget it” I said
“And that’s important why” Steve asked
“Because Saturday is her birthday” I said
“So she is trying to through a party that will make everyone forget her birthday” Steve said
“Exactly but I’m thinking surprise party” I said
“So we can invite all her friends over and surprise her” Georgia said
“Yes but this will only work if Steve takes her somewhere while we set up” I said
“And how long will that take” Steve asked
“About an hour if I get Kris and Amy to make the cake before hand plus they can place out the food, Jay and I can work on decorations, Tango can work on organising the presents and help the girls” I said
“And what am I suppose to do with her” Steve asked
“And what am I suppose to do” Georgia asked
“Georgia you just need to show up, Steve takes her shopping for something” I said
“Georgia if we leave you here with her will you be okay” Steve asked
“Yeah I’ll be fine I’d like to get to know my daughter again” Georgia smiled
“Okay Grant and I are going to go call a meeting to talk with the others” Steve said looking at me
“We’ll be back later” I said
“Grant one question how have you been?” Georgia asked
“I’m great happily married with 3 boys” I smiled
“Happily married with 7 children” Georgia giggled
“I guess that means Zora is the eldest of 11 children” I smiled
“Guess so” Georgia smiled
“Tell you what this party is family as well” I said
“The bigger the better” Georgia agreed

Steve and I walked out of the house hoping that everyone was alive when we got back. We climbed into Steve’s car because mine is tiny. As Steve drove I called everyone and let them know to meet us at the office. Steve and I were the first to arrive. Letting our self’s in we waited in an awkward silence. Jay was the next to arrive followed by a bickering Tango and Amy while Kris tried to ignore them.

“So what’s this meeting about” Jay asked
“Well I have an idea” I said
“And idea for what” Jay asked
“A surprise party of Zora for her birthday” I said
“So when is that party” Jay asked
“Saturday” I said why Jay has to be the questing one I don’t know
“And what are the plans?” Tango asked
“Kris, Amy you two need to make a cake the day before so Friday you have my permission to have the day off” I said looking at Jay “On the day Kris and Amy will deal with the food, Tango will place the presents and then help with food, Jay and I will deal with the decorations, Steve is going to take Zora out for an hour” I said
“Will it just be us at the party” Kris asked
“No bring along your partners and Jay you can bring the kids along I’ll be bringing mine and plus I’m inviting the other TAPS members like Britt, KJ, other Kris, Bruce, Carl and Keith, Robb, Barry, Ashley, Dustin, Joe, Brandy, Paul and Scott” I said
“I’ll ask my dad” Tango said
“Okay everyone’s free to go minus Steve” I said
“Okay see everyone tomorrow” Jay said
“See ya” Kris said
“Bye” Amy said
“I’ll call dad and get back to you” Tango said

As soon as they left I began making calls while Steve wondered around lost.
