Holding Me Tight, Wherever You Go

I walked in the front door with tears streaming down my face. I walked right past my parents who wore confused faces and up to my room. I opened the door and saw Tyler laying on my bed waiting for me to get there I'm assuming.

As soon as I opened the door he sat up and walked over to me.

"God, Madds I'm so sorry," he said. He looked so sad, guilty, and depressed. I let a sob break out from my body and he immediately wrapped his arms around me.

"I never wanted to hurt you or see you cry," he said as I buried my face in his neck. "I can't believe I was so mean to you and pushed you away. I was just so angry at the game and disappointed in myself and I took it out on you. I'm so sorry baby," he kept apologizing.

It took me a little to calm down and then I looked up at him with a tear stained face. He rested his forehead against mine. "I'm so sorry, I-I love you," he whispered. I almost didn't hear him. My eyes widened.

"Shit, you heard that?" he began, "I know it's too soon, but I can't help how I feel about you but I know for a fact that I love you Madison Rose. It is completely fine if you don't feel the same way, I don't wan to pressure you into saying--"

"I love you too," I smiled up at him.

"Really?"

"Yes, really," I smiled. He leaned down and kissed me softly but romantically.

CARRIE'S POV

I was sitting in the living room reading, waiting for Matt and Maddie to come home when I heard a knock. I walked over wondering who it could possibly be. When I opened the door I saw Tyler standing there in a white t shirt and jeans, just freshly showered but his face held a sad expression.

"Tyler, are you okay?" I asked him ushering him in.

"Carrie, I made a big mistake tonight. I hurt Maddie. I didn't mean to, I was just so upset about losing and I pushed her away. Please, just let me wait for her and apologize. I know it's selfish but I won't be able to sleep tonight until I make things right with her," he explained.

"Ok, just go on up to her room, you know where it is," I told him.

Not too long after, Matt and a crying Maddie walked in the door. Maddie didn't even acknowledge me, just walked straight up stairs.

"I am going to kill him," Matt said going up after Maddie.

"Wait!" I said just before he opened Maddie's bedroom door. I heard the voice of Tyler and looked over to see my husband's expression.

"He is here?"

"Yes, just let them fix their problems on their own," I told him.

He insisted on staying to make sure he didn't say anything to hurt her. I stayed with him to make sure he controlled himself. As soon as I heard him declare his love for my daughter I smiled and looked over at Matt.

"I don't think you need to worry, let's go to bed," I said grabbing his hand. He still had an unsure expression. "Matt, you trust her, now let her go, she is fine," he obliged and we walked off to our bedroom.

MADDIE'S POV

I grabbed Tyler's hand and walked over to my bed laying down and pulling him next to me. He wrapped his arm around me as I curled into his side with my arm around his stomach.

"What happened tonight?" I asked him.

"I don't even know. I was so angry at myself. I lost the team's chance at winning that game. We were all playing so well and possibly could have beat one of the best teams but I threw it away for all the guys." he told me.

"Ty, as you said you guys were amazing out there. I have never watched you guys play that well. You held your own and that's all that matters. You should be proud that you all played that well,"

"I know and now I realize that. I just wish I realized it before I hurt you. I thought I lost you,"

"You could never lose me," I told him.

We fell into a comfortable silence. I laid with my head on his shoulder and our eyes closed but not asleep.

"Hey Madds, would you come to my Uncle's wedding with me?" he asked.

"When is it?" I asked.

"Next weekend, we are staying the night at the hotel. Luke is going and I'm assuming he will bring Taylor," he informed me.

"Ok, I would definitely like to go. I will have to check with my parents first,"

"Alright, that's fine."

We once again fell into a comfortable silence. Just before I was about to drift off to sleep I felt Tyler move out from under me.

"I gotta get going babe," he told me leaning over me with a hand on each side of me. "I love you," he smile.

"I love you too," I smiled back rubbing my eyes, fighting to keep them open. He leaned down and kissed me.

"Night," He said before shutting off my light and walking out of my house.

The next morning I woke up and went downstairs to the kitchen where my parents were drinking coffee.

"Morning," I said.

"Good morning sweetheart," my mom said.

"I have a question,"

"Okay,"

"Tyler invited me to go to his uncle's wedding. We would be staying the night but Luke and Taylor will be there as well," I told them.

"Will parent's be there?"

"Yes, his dad,"

"Are you really ready to forgive him so soon?" my dad questioned.

"Dad, he made a mistake it's fine. He won't do it again and he knows what he did was wrong." I told him.

"Matt, it's fine. Let them be," my mom told him which I gave her a thankful smile. "When is the wedding?"

"Next weekend, we would be leaving Friday after school, since it's an off week for football," I told them.

"Ok, you can go, but I expect you to check in with me multiple times," she told.

"Of course,"

"You're really going to let her go that easy?" my dad asked.

"Yup, I trust her," Mom smiled.

Friday during gym Taylor, Tyler, Luke and I passed around a soccer ball. We were talking about our plans for this afternoon.

"So, right after school we will meet at Luke's car," Tyler said. "It will take us about three hours to get there and will make it just in time for the reception."

"Thank god our hair looks good today since we won't have time to get ready," Taylor said.

"Oh! and we will change in the hotel bathroom right before we walk in," he added.

"Are you sure your uncle won't be upset we're late?" I asked.

"No, he is really cool,"

"Alright, sounds good," I said as the bell rang. We all got up and changed. When I walked out of the locker room Tyler was waiting there to grab my hand and go to my locker.

"So, I am going to skip the end of 13th and go visit my dad so I can get out there in time," I told him.

"Alright, I have a question," he said as we leaned against my locker after I put my books away.

"Okay,"

"How do you feel about us sharing a bed? If you are uncomfortable it's totally fine, we can figure something out. You and Taylor can share one and Luke and I will figure something out, and--" I silenced him with a kiss.

"Ty, it's fine, I will share a bed with you I don't care," I chuckled at how flustered he got and nervous to ask me.

"Ok then," he smiled. We turned and started walking to our next class.

"Hey Dad," I said walking into his office towards the end of 13th.

"Hi Sweetheart," he responded, "What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to come say bye since I wouldn't have anytime, we are leaving directly from school,"

"Have fun and be careful," he said.

"You know I always am,"

"Very true, love you,"

"Love you too, Daddy," I said. Right as I gave him a kiss on the cheek the bell rang. I walked out of his office and straight to Luke's car. Soon everyone was by the car.

"Hey, did you get to see your dad?" Ty asked.

"Yup!"

"Ok, good," he responded as he held my hand walking around to the other side of the car.

Once we were there he leaned down and gave me a kiss before getting in the drivers seat and I got in the seat behind him. He was driving since he knew where to go.

About a half hour in the boys were having some conversation about football and I decided to put in my iPod because Taylor was already asleep. I turned on Colbie Caillat, my favorite singer and soon fell into a much needed nap.

I felt a breeze and someone shake my arm lightly.

"Babe, wake up," I heard, "We're here," I recognized Tyler's voice.

I fluttered my eyes open and looked up at him. He grabbed my iPod and turned it off for me.

"Always listening to Colbie," he smiled leaning down and giving me a soft kiss.

"Of course," I responded.

I got out of the car and grabbed his hand as the four of us walked into the lobby bathroom to change very quick.

"Love the dress," Taylor commented.

"I love yours too! Where'd you get it?"

"Couldn't tell ya," she laughed.

"Come on let's go," I said as we walked out into the lobby to see the boys in their shirts and ties. "You guys look handsome,"

"And you look absolutely beautiful," Tyler said as he came over and kissed me.

"If we weren't a new couple and still in the puppy love stage like you guys, I would so be making fun of you right now," Taylor said.

"Yeah dude, your so whipped," Luke said.

"Babe, I wouldn't be talking," Taylor responded.

"I am so not whipped!"

"Oh really--"

"Come on guys let's head in," Tyler said laughing at their stupid fight. We walked in and headed over to the table which I assumed was where his father sat.

A man stood up who had a buzz cut with bright blue eyes that stood out.

"Hey dad," Tyler said giving his father a hug. "This is my girlfriend Maddie," He wrapped his arm around me.

"It's nice to meet you sir," I said shaking his hand.

"You as well," he answered before greeting both Luke and Taylor.

Before long we were sitting at the table and the boys were already engaged in a football conversation.

"Get used to it," Taylor said, "Everything with Mike is about football,"

"Tyler mentioned that,"

A while later after everyone had eaten, people started to get up and dance. Ty's dad went off somewhere and we sat there and talked. I saw the bride walking towards us out of the corner of my eye. She came right over and gave Ty a hug.

"Michelle, this is my girlfriend Maddie,"

"Maddie! It's so nice to meet you!" she said pulling me into a hug, "Thank you so much for coming,"

"Thank you for having me and congratulations!"

We sat and talked for a few minutes and she was a really nice lady. Eventually she had to walk off to see the other people who came to share her special day with her.

"Tyler!" Lucy came running up and jumping up into Ty's arms.

"Luce!" he responded hugging her.

"Hi Maddie," she looked at me with a shy smile. I was surprised she remembered me.

"Hey Lucy, I love your dress!" I told her.

"Thanks!" she said her smile getting wider, "I was the flower girl!"

"Really that's awesome!"

"Yeah, I got to walk down the aisle, and throw flowers, and everything!" she got all excited.

"That's so cool!"

"I know!" she said before turning to Ty," Ty, will you come dance with me?"

He looked up at me as if asking for my permission which was not necessary at all, he was going to dance with his little sister for goodness sake!

"Maddie, you can come to," Lucy pulled on my hand. "Lukey! Taylor! Come on!" she yelled to them as well.

We all got up and followed Lucy over to the dance floor. We danced for the rest of the night to songs from Flo Rida to Journey and Queen. It was the last slow dance of the night and Ty whispered something to Lucy and she smiled and nodded and he walked over to me.

"Dance with me?" he asked. I smiled and nodded.

He wrapped his arms around my waist as mine went around his neck.

"Thank you for coming to night," he said.

"Of course! I had a lot of fun," I said. He just kept looking at me with a smile on his face. "What?"

"I'm just so in love with you but I don't even understand it. I have known you for what a little over a month but I couldn't picture my life with you. I think about you all the time: In class, on the field, in the car, before I go to bed, when I wake up, in my dreams. You are just always in my mind. Your eyes, your hair, your smile. I just love you so much," he explained his feeling to me.

"Well your in luck cause I'm crazy about you too and I'm gonna admit your all I think about as well," I smiled.

He leaned down and kissed me softly which began to grow more passionate. We stopped dancing and he brought his hands up to my face as he deepened the kiss. We continued to kiss as the song switched. Soon we separated to get some air and he rested his forehead against mine, both of our eyes closed.

We stayed there until we heard the DJ tell us the night was over and the adults could go to the bar which would be open until 3. Tyler and I walked over to Taylor and Luke.

"You ready to go to the room?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah, man," Luke said.

"Hey dad, we are heading up to the room," he told his dad.

"Alright, here is your key. I'm gonna take Lucy up as well," his dad said looking down at a sleeping Lucy in his lap, "Remember the breakfast buffet is at 9 tomorrow,"

"Ok sounds good, night," he said.

"Good night kids," his father said to us.

Tyler and I walked out holding hands with Taylor and Luke right behind us holding hands as well. We walked out to the car to get our bags.

Once we got to the room we brushed our teeth and changed to get ready. I crashed onto the bed as soon as I was ready and my eyes began to drift closed immediately. I wasn't paying attention to anything going on around me I was so tired. I noticed the lights turn off and the TV turn on. I saw Tyler stand in front of me and lift me up and under the covers. He walked around to the other side and I felt him lay next to me. I snuggled my back into his chest and his arm wrapped around me and he kissed the side of my head.

"night baby, I love you," he said before we both fell asleep.
