Prologue
“It wasn’t just a virus…it was an infestation. They crowded us, backed us into a corner and when we were weak enough they took us down. One by one, until there were only a few left. Until the only ones left were those who had to fight for their lives.” The girl laughed, placing her face in her hands before looking back up to her new found group.
“I lost everything. I had a baby before this, you know. His name was Sam…and now he’s gone. I killed my own fucking son.” The man sitting next to her, who seemed to be trying to act tough hesitantly put a hand on the woman’s back.
“It’s never going to end, is it?” A quiet voice asked desperation quite evident in their tone. The man comforting the woman frowned before standing up.
“We’ll fight until it does.”
