The Love of My Life Isn't Human?
Intrigued
"What the hell was that?" I shouted walking into my room with my hand on my hip. No one responded so I looked around. Darius was holding Nicholas down on my bed, twisting his arm back with one hand and holding him down with his other hand. Addie and Desiree looked surprised while Daphne looked like she was trying to hold in laughter.
"What are you doing? Let him go!" I shouted and ran to help Nicholas.
"Hey, he started fighting with me. I just ended it," Darius laughed.
"Sure he did. Come with me," I snapped and pulled him by his arm. I brought him down where our parents were and let him go.
"He attacked my boyfriend," I said and crossed my arms.
"I'm pretty sure Nicholas started it. He always gets into fights," My father explained looking embarrassed.
"Either way he hurt him!" I screamed. I did not like this boy at all and he was in my home hurting my boyfriend.
Darius' father chuckled and said, "Oh my boy. Do you like this girl?" He didn't answer. He pretended he didn't hear it and walked out of my house.
"Where are you going! Get back here," His father screamed. Happy in his embarrassment or whatever he was feeling I followed him outside.
"What's your problem?" At first he didn't answer.
"Well?"
"I don't feel like getting in trouble with my father," He said and pulled out a cigarette.
"It didn't seem like you were going to get in trouble.... that's gross," I said about his cigarette.
He ignored my comment about that and snapped, "You don't know him. He'll joke around in public. When we're home is when I get it."
"Sorry..."
"Whatever," He walked off.
I sat by the gates of my house thinking. The way Darius was acting made it seem like him getting in trouble caused more than just him getting yelled at. Maybe his father hit him? He seemed like a strong man, but yet again so did Darius. He beat up Nicholas and no one here ever has. And if he does get in trouble it's my fault...
"Remy? What are you doing," Nicholas asked with Addie, Remy, and Daphne behind him. Why was she still with them?
"Oh nothing." I noticed a red mark on his face and grew angry. Why was I feeling sorry for Darius? He hurt Nick, everything was his fault!
"Daphne's pretty cool! Can she hang out with us more often," Asked Addie.
"Sure whatever. I don't care," I tried not to protest. She was Darius' sister after all.
"Good, I'm glad you like her sweetie. Because the Janowskis are going to be around a lot. Mr. Janowski is actually going to be my business partner. Hopefully you and Darius can become friends."
I groaned and Nicholas didn't look pleased. Daphne did.

Soaking up the sun was one of my favorite things to do. With the heat rays shining down on my skin I felt invincible. It just felt so good. Wanting to be alone I was lounging on the beach, laying on a towel, and was sipping a lemonade. My bikini was perfectly comfortable on my body and I had music, coming from my iPod ,blasting in my ears. I was perfectly relaxed. That was until a face appeared smirking in front of me. I could feel his presence there even before I opened my eyes.
"Having fun," He asked.
"I was. Until you came here."
"Ouch," He laughed taking my head phones out of my ears and putting them in his.
"Man, this could cause someone to go deaf."
Fuming I tried not to yell. Staying calm was probably best. For all I knew he could tell my dad I was being rude to get revenge on me telling on him.
"So did you get in big trouble earlier?"
He didn't answer for a moment. "No. I just got spoken to." I believed him until I saw a mark on his arm and face. I stared him down.
"Anyway I'd like to get back to tanning now. Give me back my iPod," I ordered. To my disappointment he just stood there looking through my songs.
I stared at him, hoping I'd seem intimidating and he'd give it back. But I ended up staring at him in an adoring way; I could tell I was. He seemed to not notice as he walked away with my iPod. I didn't even say anything about him stealing it.
