I walked out of my apartment into the cold crisp New York air. I was the promotions manager for a record company and I had to be there extra early.
I had just gotten off the phone with my boyfriend Kennedy Brock,yes Kennedy Brock of the band "The Maine".
My how i loved that boy,I don't know why he chose me though,he took a risk and so far it's been worth it.

I like the way I can't keep my focus,
I watch you talk you didn't notice
I hear the words but all I can think is we should be together

I remember the first time I met him.
His band was playing a show at a local bar for someones 21st birthday,kind of cheesy right?
I was just looking at him while he talked,and he didn't seem to notice.

A few minutes later I glanced up and saw him looking at me,he smiled and I automatically smiled back.
He made me feel happy,and I hadn't even met this boy.
He then began to walk over to me
'Hi, I'm Kennedy"
"Katie, It's nice to meet you"
'Well Katie,would you care to sit down and talk?"
"Mmm sure,I'd like that"
We talked for HOURS on end,then we realized how late it was and we both got up to leave.
"I had a really nice time tonight,Katie. I'm glad I met you"
"Thanks Kennedy,I did too."
He then traded numbers with me,and quickly kissed my cheek before rushing off.
If I didn't have butterflies before I surely did now.

We continued to hang out for the next few weeks,then he asked me out.
I said yes,though I'm not sure why.
I had just gotten out of a pretty bad relationship,but Kennedy took a chance and stuck through it with me.

I had time to think it oh-over and all I can say is come closer,

Kennedy and I began to grow closer and closer.
I was falling for that boy and i was falling really hard and really fast.

We had plenty of struggles and some people didn't think we could make it.
We always proved them wrong and ended up pulling through.
Sometimes it took longer then other times,but we hung on to each other.

I arrived to work and got to my floor only to be greeted on the lips by none other then Kennedy.
"Hey handsome,what are you doing here in New York?!"
"Well,Katie,I have something very important to ask you"
"Mmhmm,go on"

He then proceeded to get down on one knee and pull something out of his pocket.
"Katie Isabelle Jenkins,I know when I first met you three years ago we had a rocky start and we fought alot,and there were times when I thought we wouldn't make it,but we did.
I took a chance you and it was the best decision I've ever made and I love you with all my heart.
So Katie, will you marry me?"

My eyes began to tear up and before I knew it I felt fresh tracks of tears falling down my face.
I couldn't speak all I could do was nod,yes.
Kennedy then slid the ring on my finger then stood up,embraced my face in his hands and kissed me.
It was then I knew,this was going to be incredible from here on out.

I had fallen and he took a chance and jumped and now look where it's got us (:
