Sick Minds

Gus barely recognised the girl who answered the door. She was far too thin to be considered healthy, and her eyes were flat and dull, the lids drooping over them, obscuring her soul from view. The skin that hung over her cheeks was sallow and thin and scarred slightly along one side. His attention was drawn to her full lips as she licked them nervously; they looked out of place on her sunken face.

She hadn't been expecting anyone, that was clear. She was wearing an old stained t-shirt and a pair of leggings that had a large hole along one seam.

But somewhere inside this gaunt, half dead figure lay the girl he once knew.
