Happenings.

In between.

The next day, I walked through the door at school and jumped. Or tried to.

"Hey." Jared had wrapped his arms around my neck.

"Hi."

"Fags," someone muttered.

Jared lazily reached his hand toward his pocket. All became silent.
"Cowards," he whispered in my ear.

"And do they ever come up with a new insult?"

"Nah, why should they, when they can just use this one over and over?" He smiled at me. I shivered slightly.

"Cold?"

"No."

"You sure? I have a spare jacket."

"Yeah, I'm sure."
