Prologue

Alice Lanark sat in English, fully engrossed in her novel, The Magic Toyshop by Angela Carter, It was her Personal Study this year and was very determined to get a high pass. She was so focused on making the notes she didn’t notice her teacher walk up to her desk, giving her a very rare chance. She was offered to take part in a cross exchange between her school and a school in America. Also known as Pen Pals.
Alice agreed immediately.
Alex Gaskarth was sitting in the exact same position. And he agreed as well.
She was to write the first letter.
