The Ponyess Farm

A Bus Load:

Since I had no job, I had taken a chance, following on a trip to a barn, not too far from my home. This did seem like the best chance of a job I ever had. I had caught the bus as it passed my home, it stop every now and then, picking up more people, people out of work.

Incidentally, the bus soon filled up, and turned towards a dirt road leading into the forest. Time slipped, but I sat in silence, waiting for us to arrive. This bus was marked “Out of work”. That's why I'm on the bus.

Now we're all heading for the woods, into the forest. Before I knew it, the forest cleared up, and a farm building came into view. Our bus promptly slowed down, stopping just before the main building.

I could see people rising from their seats. No hurry, I thought. We'd all see the barn, no point stressing. I waited for the others to exit the bus, then I slowly walked out. From there I reclaimed my place in the crowd.
