Nick

We drove around for a while just to kill time before I took Christie home.
Phil wanted to make sure she was alright to be around her parents.
She shouldn't have been drinking.
She was only seventeen at the time.
While we were driving and I was trying to block out the sound of Christie dry heaving
I saw a girl and she was crying as she
mindlessly wandered the streets.
I thought about stopping and asking if she was okay,
but Phil wanted me to keep going.
Christie had to been home by three.
But I stopped anyways.
I wanted to know that she was alright.
Slowing to a stop, I rolled down the widow.
"Are you alright?"
She stopped walking and looked at me with blank eyes.
She looked so pretty
and so scared.
She shivered, sighed, and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
I looked at her for maybe five seconds before nodding.
"Okay then. Goodnight."
She stood there for a minute looking lost, and then she waved goodbye.
I rolled up the window, started the car and looked to the backseat.
Christie threw up again, missing the overflowing bucket.
At least it wasn't my car.
Phil looked at his girlfriend, and then at me.
He sighed.
"We need a new bucket."
