-Your Sins Are Approaching, So Lock The Door-
-13- Let Your Light Shine Down
We arrived in West Chester early the next morning. Bryant woke me up with his ass in my face, and i lit my lighter, burning him.
"Just goes to show, never stick your ass in a person's face, especially mine," i said, watching him throw cold water on it. I started to giggle. I need to learn how to laugh. We were outside a hotel, and i went up to the front of the bus, looking for Nick. He was standing outside with the door open, talking to some guy. I pulled his hoodie closer to me, taking in the smell of his warm cologne and cigarette smoke.
I stepped outside and came up behind him, resting my hand lightly on his lower back. He turned and smiled, his perfectly pierced lips curled at the corners. He put his arm around me and pulled me closer. The guy flashed a toothy smile at me. He looked familiar, i just couldn't put my finger on who he was.
"This is Jericho, her and her brother came along. Him and Nicky are pretty good friends," Nick said.
"Is she your girlfriend?"
Nick frowned. "No."
"Oh...well, when you guys check in, you should come to my suite. Shannon and Tomo will be there, so we can hang before and after the show," he said smiling. He gave Nick the room number and floor, and we followed the guy until we reached the front desk. Mike turned to us.
"Room 413, 6th floor. Was that Jared?"
"Yeah, he wants us to come to their room when we're done unpacking."
"Wait a minute, wait. That was Jared Leto," i asked, excited. I knew i recognized him.
"The one and only. we're opening for 30 Seconds To Mars. It's our first big gig," Mike said. His face lit up.
We exited the elevator and went to our room. It was big, and wasn't set up like a normal one. There was a love seat and 2 beds, and a little kitchen area. The bathroom had a really big garden tub, but it looked as if it was like a little jacuzzi. There were 2 sinks, and a toilet seperate from the actual bathroom.
"This is what they like to call a half-suite," Steve said, laughing a bit. We put our bags into the closet and walked back out into the hallway. We walked up the one flight of stairs that was left and made our way down a really long, cool hall. Nick stopped at a room. Room 524. He knocked hard. It felt like we were standing there for hours before someone answered. It was a tall guy, who had eyes liek Jared's, but a bigger build, and taller. "Come in, guys."
We entered. The suite was huge. A spiral staircase wrapped around a neon lighted tank-looking thing was to the right, and a whole living room with a fireplace was to the left. Little fake plants were everywhere, and the windows were as tall as the cathedral ceilings. My amazement was interrupted by Bry's vibrating cell phone. I pulled it out and stood by the door while Jared passed out beers for everyone. It was a text.
'I know you're in Penn., but come back to Savannah whenever you can, i need you here'. I felt so bad for not being there for Brittney's funeral, and it killed me inside to hear him say that. I was always there for him, but now that i'm not... I told him i'd be there before he knew it., and shoved the phone back in my pocket just in time for Jared to hand me a bottle.
I sat down next to Nick and had him pop the cap off for me. He put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me closer. Jared eyed me as he sat down on the couch across from us with Mike and Nicky. Steve and the tall guy stood and talked in the kitchen. Everyone around me was making conversation. Nick looked down at me.
"Are you okay?" he asked. I nodded yes and smiled, and he kissed me lightly. Jared's eyes were blazing. I stood up and excused myself and went into the bathroom. I looked in the mirror. Why was he staring at me? I never thought he'd be a weirdo, but maybe he was just staring in space. I heard a knock on the door. "It's open," i said, thinking it was Nick. The door opened, and Jared stood there. I have to be honest, he was clearly adorable. His eyes were a blue-green and wide, and his lips were perfectly carved.
"Hey, Nick said you weren't coming to the show tonight."
"Oh, well, i was going to skip out on this gig, something happened recently, and i just don't feel up to it." He stepped in and sat his beer on the counter, and he leaned against the wall, his arm above his head. He was gorgeous. I tried to shake the thoughts of him from my head and try to think about how cool it was that i was actually meeting THE Jared Leto.
"Well, how's about you come, and i'll take you out."
"Well, um, you don't need to, i'll come, if you want me to," i said. I felt so stupid, stuttering like an idiot.
"No, really, i'm going out tonight anyway, might as well bring a pretty girl along. Would Nick be okay with it?"
"Um, yeah, sure, i don't think i had anything to do tonight, anyway, besides the show."
"Alrighty, then it's a plan."
His eyes burned into mine. Our faces were close, and his hand brushed some of my hair behind my ear. He picked up his beer and left the room. I collapsed onto the countertop. What the hell is wrong with me? It was as if i couldn't say no. I left the bathroom and took my place back into Nicks' arms. I felt like i was cheating, even though we weren't a thing. Yet, anyway. I talked with everyone, we laughed and killed time before the show, but the whole time, i could feel his eyes on me, and i felt like everyone just...knew.
