Tell Me When it's Time

I'm Crying For Me

I put a bowl of soup into the microwave when the doorbell rang. In just one of Jimmy's shirts and a pair of shorty shorts, I met my father, who had just answered the door. Two men in army uniforms stood at the door.
"Is this the Armstrong residence?" one asked.
"Yes this is," Billie answered.
"This is for you," the other said, handing me an envelope.
I pulled out a letter which revealed a silver cross necklace. I held it in my hands as I read the letter. I couldn't even finish it before I broke down crying. Billie held me as I sobbed into his shirt.
"I am sincerely sorry for your loss," the one said.
"Wait," Billie said."Jimmy's dead?"
I felt Billie's hold around me tighten. My grip tightened aroung Jimmy's necklace.
"Thank you," Billie said as I heard the door close. Billie's lips planted a soft kiss on my cheek before he hugged me closer. "I'm so sorry, honey."
My arms tightly wrapped around his neck as more tears escaped my eyes and soaked his shoulder. We stood like that, for what seemed like, forever. Billie's hand took Jimmy's necklace from my grip.
I was about to say something, but he put Jimmy's necklace around my neck. He then hugged me closer by the waist ans softly kissed my cheek.
"I am so sorry, Lillie," Billie whispered in my ear.
I moved back a little so I could look at him. His sparkling green eyes stared at me with sorrow and love. Billie cradled my face in his hands, but then moved down to my waist as my right hand stroked against his angel face. The space between us closed against us as his lips finally met mine.
"Billie, you know I'll never be able to love you as much as I do Jimmy to this day, right?" I interupted.
His deeply gorgeous eyes looked a little hurt, but understanding.
"I know, but I just can't help but feel these feelings about you," Billie replied. "Forever and always."
Billie hugged me closer as I began to cry again.
"Oh my God, what the hell happened?" Joey asked, hugging my waist from behind.
"Joey, Jimmy's dead," I replied, more tears finding their way out to soak Billie's shirt even more.
Soon, my brother wasn't hugging me anymore. I opened my tearful eyes and looked into Billie's. He took his thumb and whiped a tear that escaped.
"I care for you so much," Billie said. "I care so much more than anything on this Earth. It kills me to see you hurt like this."
All I could do was stare into his comforting eyes. They showed me his love. and I just wanted to feel it. I felt so alone without Jimmy, and now that I would never be able to feel his strong arms protect me when I was sleeping, I could barely breath. The pain was starting to settle in. I would never be able to hold Jimmy ever again.
"Don't cry for him, sweetheart, he's in a better place," Billie tried to comfort.
"Billie, I'm not crying for Jimmy," I stated.
"Then who are you crying for?"
"I'm crying for me."
Billie's lips gently pressed against mine for a kiss.
