Charmed

He was galloping through the woods. His body was flattened against the horse’s bushy mane, gently brushing its smooth brown hide. His head down low, eyes fixed up ahead at his target. The wind whipped his hair back and the taste of earth and forest was blown into his open mouth.
He saw a flash of silver as his prey turned sharply and disappeared. He speed up, slowly steering the horse towards his right. It turned with a fluid motion and then….
Nothing. It was gone. The wind stopped blowing as he slowed down, and the horse halted. The forest was quiet again. He was alone.
