I'll Never Let Them Hurt You

Flashbacks

I ran through all the possibilities the officer could ask in my head, but they were all the same questions that I had already answered. What more could there be?

"We would like to know if this criminal, Douglas Nison, carries any sort of weapon, as he is refusing to tell us." The officer finally spoke.

That hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt my mind going blank and I began to lose balance. I fell into the officer's worried arms, breathing heavily.

"Miss Chloe? Are you alright?" He threw all sorts of questions at me.

His voice was slowly fading more and more away untill all I could see and hear were flashbacks of my horrific past. I could see Doug pulling a shiny object from his back pocket, lowing it to my face as I cowered in the corner of the tightly packed room. I gasped. It was a gun.

He slowly pulled the trigger and everything seemed to be going in slow motion. I could see the bullet powering towards me, slicing through the atmosphere, spinning at god knows how fast. The bullet was inches away from my face, but as soon as it made contact, the scene changed.

Now I was running through the gloomy and terrifying woods late at night. My arms pumped furiously as my legs were beginning to lose power. I continued to look over my shoulder, searching for any signs of movement.

I collapsed to the ground, the soil staining my already blood-stained jeans. I clutched my stomach as I began to feel a stabbing pain. I felt sweat and blood trickle down the side of my cheek as I prayed for someone to rescue me before he found me.

I heard a rustle of a tree and I spun around, my fists clenching at the leaves on the ground to keep me calm. I shakily rose to my feet and backed away from the noise.

The rustling got louder and louder and a figure emerged from the shadows. I eyed the silhouette, determined to figure out who or what it was. The figure stepped forward, his face shone in the moonlight.

I gasped, fear overwhelming me. I turned around to run but I was met with a tree. I looked around, my eyes as wide as an owl. I had no where to run, no where to hide. It's like all the trees have somehow moved and surrounded me and him.

I attempted to squease through the branches, screaming for help. But no one could hear me. This forest had nobody in it. It was practically deserted.

I closed my eyes and felt myself being span around and rammed up against a tree. A silent tear ran down my cheek and he wiped it away.

"Don't cry, sugar." He spoke, bringing a sharp knife to his lips, licking across the blade. "It'll all be over soon."

He ran the knife down my cheek somewhat gently, but the searing pain was almost too much for me to bear. I sobbed, begging him to stop.

He pushed me further against the tree, his chest compressed against my own. He laughed, finding my fear clearly amusing. He licked across the blade once again, my blood being wiped clean off.

"Oh, Chloe, when will you learn?" Doug howled with laughter again.

"Chloe? Chloe!"

I opened my eyes, starring up at the officer. I shook my head, geting rid of all those disgusting memories and freed myself from the man's grasp.

I sprinted towards my boyfriend, and screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Jimmy! He's got a gun!"
