Chapter 10 A picture can mean more than anything:
Waking up, with Alex’s forehead pressed against mine, was a dream come true. Though the dream ended within seconds, when the flash of a camera woke me up. Casper stood at the end of the bed, with the widest grin and a camera; I glared evilly at him, and rested on my elbows. He took another picture, with me looking like a crazy maniac.
“Casper go away, we’re trying to sleep here” I whispered tiredly. I felt Alex arms snake around my waist, and his head on my shoulder, I blushed wildly, and looked at him, his eyes were still closed. Only half an inch away, so little, but at the same time so terribly far.
“Ignore him, and come back to sleep with me?” he yawned. My heart had officially died at the cute-ness. I think my cheeks went far beyond the color of a tomato.
“Oki” I whispered. Casper flashed another picture, but I didn’t care. I let Alex pull me down again, and let him hug me into his chest, every part of my frontal body touched his warm skin, why was he always so hot? Why was I always so cold?
“Casper go away, don’t ruin this” Alex mumbled. He pulled me up closer, if it even were possible.
“As you wish, sleeping beauty” Casper snapped another picture, and left the room.
“Alex” I looked at him wearily.
“Yes” he whispered.
“I don’t ever want to wake up next anyone but you, you know that, right?” I blushed at what I had just said.
Alex opened his eyes, and looked at me. “Yes, I know” His eyes shimmered; I couldn’t stop looking into them.
“Feel my heart” I whispered, and placed a hand on his chest, I could feel his heart race as much as mine. Alex was a little hesitant, so I helped him; I took my free hand, and took his hand and placed it over my heart. I could feel the change in Alex’s heart rhythm, it went faster, I blushed, because I knew why it went faster.
“Your heart is racing” Alex whispered.
“It’s because I like you”
A flash of light, and a scream later, Casper was seen jumping out of the room.

“I think we better get up, and throw him out into the snow” I smiled at Alex.
“Yeah let’s do that” Alex grinned.
We quickly jumped out of bed, laughing and smiling. I looked at Alex, who knew what I was think-ing; he threw me some clothes, which I quickly put on.
We played catch Sonea while she runs around and screams like a maniac. The game was over quickly though, because Alex caught me just as I had reached the staircase. Alex laughed triumphantly as he lifted me up.
“You know you should really stop doing that” I smiled. “You could break you back” I teased.
“Ha!” he let out, I think he was as high on happiness as I was. “You are just like a feather” he actu-ally tossed my up in the air, and caught me, his one arm under my back, and the other one under my knees.
I screamed in surprise and wrabbed my arms around him. Alex just laughed again, looking at him, I couldn’t help but smile, he was happier than I had ever seen him.
A flash of light made us aware of Casper’s presence; Casper was at the bottom, with Margret and Will. I smiled mischievously at Alex; he smiled back letting me know he understood the plan. He set me down, and we both walked normally down the stairs.
“Did you sleep well?” Margret asked.
“Brilliantly” I laughed, Alex nodded.
“Do you want some breakfast?” Will asked.
“In a couple of minutes” Alex smiled. “We have something to do first” I mumbled.
With that Alex grabbed the camera from Casper’s hands, and gave it to Margret.
I grabbed Casper’s arm, and Alex took the other. Understanding what this was Casper started strug-gling, but that didn’t help much.
“Open the door dad!” Alex laughed. Will did so, and we forced Casper outside.
“Don’t do it” Casper pleaded. “My shoes are expensive!”
“You shouldn’t have taken those pictures!” Alex panted as we tossed Casper into the snow. We used our hands as shovels and filled Casper with snow, when we decided the job was done, Alex ran inside to get the camera.

“Wow this is good!” I gasped. The others laughed at me, which made me blush a little. We sat around the dining table, and ate breakfast.
“That’s good to hear” Augustus said satisfied.
“So Sonea…mind telling us what you were doing in the forest last night?” Will smiled politely at me. Alex froze with a spoon halfway into his mouth.
“You did what?!” he coughed, and almost choked on his breakfast.
“I don’t know what you are talking about” I looked at my fried eggs.
“You know when you called me, and said you couldn’t move and you were in the forest”
“Oh that time” I looked at my food; I could feel Alex staring like a maniac at me.
“Well” I began looking around the table. “My parents aren’t exactly used to change” everyone at the table looked at me weirdly, except for Alex, who still stared crazily at me.
“My dad believes that two years, is too much of an age difference between lovers” I explained. “So you can imagine what happened when he met Alex, who also is a teacher” I fidgeted with my fork.
“I’m not like my dad and I never will be” I just felt like they should know. “So when my mom and dad had dragged me home, he halfway made me an offer, well I chose to see it as an offer” I started feeling tears in my eyes again, and didn’t look up, I didn’t want to face them right now.
“Th- what offer?” Alex asked. I slowly looked up at him; he was a little take aback by the tears.
“He said he wouldn’t allow this” I paused and took Alex’s hand, and smiled. “As long as I lived under his roof, and I was his daughter” Alex’s eyes widened, and I heard Margret and Casper gasp.
“So I went to my room, packed what meant the most to me, and I jumped out of my window” I fin-ished.
“Sonea…I’m so sorry” Alex whispered.
“No it’s okay” I petted his hand. “I landed on a bush” I laughed, but I quickly realized I was the only one. “This has been the best morning in my life, waking up with you, and being in this house, I can be myself, and that’s worth everything to me”
“Don’t say that, it’s your family”
“But my family doesn’t like me anymore; I will say what I want” I paused. “That reminds me, Will have you seen my bag pack?” I looked at Will.
“It’s over there, on the couch” he pointed, I looked at the others, they looked like they were in shock.
“Is that all you packed?” Alex asked breathlessly.
“Actually I only packed one thing” I smiled.
“And that one thing is?” he asked breathlessly.
“You can go over and have a look” I teased.
“Okay…but please promise me it isn’t an Orlando Bloom poster” he laughed.
“Not exactly” Alex left the room, and I was left at the table, with everyone starting at me.
“Your dad has called” Will said politely.
“Yeah I expected that much, I’ll call him later” there was a long pause, where no one said anything. “C-can I stay here for a while?” it came out of me so bluntly, I was actually taken back myself.
Margret suddenly stood up. “Of course you can honey, you are already a part of the family” she ran over and hugged me, Will smiled at me, and Casper took another picture.
“Wow thanks…I appreciate that” I couldn’t help but laugh, which made the others laugh a little too.
Everything went quiet, when Alex came walking slowly into the room, the picture in his hand.
“Th-this is what you picked?” Alex croaked.
I blushed wildly.
“Alex don’t bring it in here!” I panicked, I don’t know why, but I didn’t want everyone looking at it.
“But of all things, you picked this?!” he looked at me, I gave a weak smile.
“I can’t help it, I l-” I stopped, and looked at all the faces turned towards me. I blushed even more. Before I could look around me, Alex was hugging me so tightly I almost couldn’t breathe, and eve-ryone at the table was looking at my picture. Margret had her hands folded, and Will had his arm around her.
I think of all couples, the one I look the most up to, is Margret and William. Their love is so strong, you can feel it, when they look at each other, it’s like they are saying I love you. I would like to have such a relationship one day, maybe when all of this was over, Alex and I could settle down and be a normal couple?

“Sorry kids, I’m going out, I have some business to attend to” I smiled, Casper, Alex and Sonea were sitting in the tea room.
“Its okay mom, see you later” Alex called, of course he was very busy, his thoughts and actions cen-tered on Sonea, it was good to see him like this, he had been lonely far too long. I walked to the door, where I met William; I kissed him on the lips.
“I’m going to Sonea’s house dear”
“Yes I know, but be nice on them, it would be nice, if they would just accept us and especially Alex” he said, he kissed my cheek, I smiled warmly to him, and he did the same to me. I felt Sonea’s eyes on us, I turned and smiled at her, she smiled back. I had really come to like Sonea, she was far better than Jennifer, Sonea really loved Alex, and I hadn’t seen Alex so happy.
I waved to William and Sonea, she had moved over to the window, and she now stood with Alex and waved at me. It really was a nice feeling, to know that she had just come to us, but she was al-ready willing to see us as family.
James had driven the car out, and Otto my most trusted bodyguard was here with me. Well you can‘t call Otto our bodyguard, as much as you can call him family. He spend last Christmas at our house, he also has his own room. Otto had been there in every good moment of my life, and certainly also the bad.
Otto was there to congratulate me, after I won my first Emmy, and he was there to do his job, when I was nearly assassinated. Yes it has been a crazy life, but it is far from over.
Of course I have been there for Otto too, I was there as the first person, when his mother died in a car crash, and when his ex girlfriend broke up with him, I was certainly there to set him up on a date, and he’s still with the beautiful Lynette.

“James make a turn to the right here” I said in a soft voice.
“Where are we going m’am” Otto said.
“Oh Otto we’re going on a secret mission today, you know how I enjoy them” I petted his hand.
“That sounds good, so what is my part in this?”
“Well your part is like your job, to keep me safe, see I don’t know, what these people are capable of”
“Who are they?”
“You know, my dear little Alex has found a girl, you saw her yesterday, her name is Sonea, and we are paying her family a little visit” I fixed my hair, and stretched out my black dress. I changed shoes, to my shining high heels; I put in my black sunglasses, and prepared for a runway walk, when the car stopped.
“Put your sunglasses on dear” I nodded to Otto, who was eager to get out of the car, and put on his sunglasses on, and get some action. While we had been in town, there hadn’t been much to do for Otto; no one knew that we were here. But that was all a part of our life, we had to keep quiet at some moments, but at other times we had to shout out to the world.
Otto opened the door for me, and I stretched out my leg first, then I crawled out. See I had to do this, because I knew they were watching, everyone watches when I arrive, Sonea’s family probably wasn’t used to limo’s parking in front of their house either.
Their neighbors hadn’t expected that either, because they were also looking out their windows. Otto held out an arm for me to take, but I couldn’t do that, if was going to use my runway walk. I would just have to be careful, not to fall or slip on the icy road. I took two carful steps watching the road, I then snapped my head up and started the walk, it was important to not look other places than straight ahead. Otto came quickly behind me, he was used to this. I had to walk in the front with fast steps, so I would signal power and influence, while when he walked behind me, he signaled muscle and obedience.
Right now Otto’s job was to look frightening, and that I must say he pulled of very nicely. We got to the door, and Otto knocked hardly on it three times. It was good we had some preparation time in the car, so I could inform him, of how we played out this mission.
The door was opened quickly, and a young man, a little younger than Alex answered the door.
“Good day” I said sweetly. I took of my sunglasses, and stretched out my hand. “My name is Marg-ret”
“Holy f-” the young man stopped. “Hi I’m Jeff”
“Ah very nice, Sonea’s eldest brother I assume?”
“Yes madam” Jeff straightened.
“Good then I am at the right house, can I speak with your parents?” I asked now more seriously.
“Yes of course, I’ll just go get them, come inside” with that Jeff was gone, I smiled at Otto, this was going better than planned. Otto and I moved inside, there was a couch, but we didn’t sit down, that would imply that this was a nice chatty visit. I put on my sunglasses again.
The mother was here before the farther. Jeff didn’t come back, I guessed he wasn’t allowed.
When they both stood before Otto and I, I took of my sunglasses, and stretched out a hand. “Hello my name is Margret Truman, I’m Alex’s mother”
“Hello I’m Theresa; I’m a very big fan of yours!” “I’m Jeremy”
When the introductions were in place, we sat down with some tea.
“Oh how rude, this is Otto” I said lightly as I noticed they kept staring at him, I was tempted to smile, when Otto didn’t move a muscle.
Theresa and Jeremy sat opposite and seemed intimidated, but that was all a part of the plan.
“Now I think we can just be honest, and get it out in the open” I folded my hands in my lap. “Your daughter and my son, has come to like each other quite a bit” Jeremy made a noise at that, but I ig-nored him. “And I wish that we could just be adult and friendly about this, but you don’t seem to think that as a good idea, so I’ve come here to talk about it”
“Your perverted son tricked my daughter into liking him!” Jeremy spat.
“I will let you know, that my son held his distance, hurting himself, but doing it for your daughters sake, but she wouldn’t allow that” I said firmly.
“Our daughter was raised to do nothing like that”
“See there’s a difference between the two of us Jeremy” I gave him my stone glare head on; he actu-ally sunk in his chair. “I raised my son, to follow his heart, and maybe Sonea despite what you raised her to be, follows her heart too”
“She only follows her recklessness, I think she’s trying to get away from your son, she’s trying to escape his power. And I think you should think about how well that parenting of yours has been, if your son now goes after young students” Jeremy crossed his arms.
“As far as I know, it was you she fled from last night, and speaking of Sonea, do you even know where she is, at the moment?” I waited for a while, where Jeremy of course couldn’t answer. “Don’t you think you should think about your own parenting, before you blame others for your fails” I said in a mockingly sweet tone.
Jeremy stood up at that.
“I will not have you come to my home and insult me!”
I stood up slowly. “I will not have you threatening my son, and only because he loves your daugh-ter!” my eyes scorched Jeremy to the vey bone, and he knew it, that was why he backed one step back.
“I will make sure that kid of yours, will end up in prison, if it’s the last thing I do” Jeremy hissed.
“I would think greatly about who you make your enemy, because William and I will use everything we have against you, in making sure that Alex and Sonea can stay happy, seeing as I’m the only one who whishes that for her”
“Don’t you dare” Jeremy pointed at me.
Otto cracked his knuckles, which made every sound die down. Now it was Theresa that broke the silence.
“Is he really in love with her?”
“My boy came home last night, he barely got inside the door before he broke down” I looked at The-resa. “He didn’t cry because he was scared of you” I glanced at Jeremy. “Or prison, he cried because he thought he wouldn’t see Sonea again” I sat back down. “I swear to you, William and I, we were scared, we had never seen anything like it” I took a sip of my tea. “We had to carry him up the stairs, just to get him to his own bed” Theresa looked shocked at me.
“No mother ever whishes to see her child in that condition” she folded her hands tightly together. “When I saw Sonea jump out of her window, I knew she was in love, she has never acted like this, I knew we had gone too far. She then just ran away, we were up all night searching for her, then we got a strange text from her phone, saying that she was okay” Theresa’s voice was low.
“The text was from me” I said sweetly to her. “Sonea called Alex’s phone, crying for help, in the middle of the night, William answered, because Alex was unable to” I took another sip. “She had run into the forest, she had fallen down the slope and hit her head. When William drove out to get her, she was stuck with her leg in a root” Theresa let out a gasp. “Don’t worry, she’s okay right now, but she’s shaken up, and she doesn’t want to go home” Jeremy shot up again at that.
“You can’t steal my daughter-” Otto got up quickly, and Jeremy quickly lost his violent tone.
“She came to us crying and begging for a place to stay, I wasn’t going to let her freeze to death be-cause of your narrow-mindedness, and as she said, you gave her an option. You said so yourself, you wouldn’t allow her to be happy, and stay under you roof at the same time, so she made her choice, deal with it” Jeremy looked lost for words.
“I would really think about what you are getting into here, maybe you should just accept them and then maybe she would like to come back? But I will not deny her roof over her head, and happiness in her heart, as long as she need’s it” I looked at Theresa. “And don’t worry Theresa, I will watch over her, though Alex will never let harm come to her, remember he saved her from Mick, and risked his own life at that too, they ended up in the hospital together, I’m sure you remember”
I stood up, put on my sunglasses, and went for the door.
“It was nice meeting you two, and you Jeff, and I’m guessing you are Aiden” I nodded towards the two boys hiding at the door. Otto opened the door, and motioned for me to go first. I turned to Jeremy and Theresa.
“Think about who you are up against, he really loves her, please don’t ruin that” I turned my heel, and runway walked to the limo.

“James we are going home, I don’t want to spend another moment away from my family, you should come too Otto, we’ll have some nice old fashioned tea, and some chocolate chip cookies”
“Oh you know I can’t say no to that, especially not when it’s Augustus’s making” Otto laughed.
“I know, I can’t say no to that either, and then you can really meet Sonea, I tell you, she is wonder-ful!”
“She must be, to capture Alex’s heart like this, she must really be special”
“Oh she is, you just wait and see” I chuckled.
