The Realm of Shadows

Smooth Train

Aida could not believe her luck; she had spoken to Prince Shadows only a
mere two days ago and he had kept his promise. The prince came not to her to
ease his physical desires nor did he have her held a servant girl. Prince Shadows
had simply visited to ensure she was comfortable and to discuss her leaving
arrangements.

The prince had been upset when Aida refused to name her attackers. Okay
upset was an understatement; Prince Shadows went fucking nuts. Aida shuddered
in rememberance.

She had been around only minor shadow beings before and to see an angry
shadow was nothing of concern. But to see a powerful shadow, a royal shadow,
angry made Aida curse her dead parents need to live in a realm ruled by paranormal
creatures. Especially since they were merely human.

The future king had asked her for the names three times; upon receiving
the third refusal, Prince Shadows growled deep within his chest. The sound had startled
Aida but what had followed terrified her. The powerfully built prince began throwing stuff
about the room while his powers went uncontrolled. Perhaps because of the intensity
of his rage, Prince Shadows' form started to darken. A shadow. Prince Shadows was
becoming a literal shadow.

Only the most powerful shadow beings could perform such a feat and only
with much concentration. The prince had definately not been focusing on his powers
which were also lighting up the room like a fucking mage( Hint:One of the realms
will be a mage's) before dimming the lights then going dark. He had been to busy
ripping everything he could get his hands on all the while cursing loudly.

The room had remained in chaos for a long while before Prince Shadows had
stormed out of the room taking all forms of light with him.

Aida could not be sure of Shadows reasoning for losing control. All
shadow creatures were a bit tempermental but none were pushed by such
a small event. The only conclusion to form was the only logic Aida could
muster: the prince was use to getting his way and threw a tantrum when it did
not happen.

"Train" 3 Doors Down

The thoughts wandering through Aida's mind were interupted by a
soft knocking. Nervously; Aida granted the person entrance to the room.

A familar male servant came into the room; the servant must
have been one of the royal family's higher servants as he was nearly
always by Prince Shadows side.

"His majesty has sent me to inquire if you are ready to
take your leave of us, miss." The servant spoke softly.

Aida sighed. She did not know what she expected the
prince had not been to see her since his tantrum. In some corner
of her mind, Aida supposed she wanted the prince to come and
sweep her off her feet like the story she had heard as a girl.

She could remember sitting outside of a window
listening to a mother tell her daughter the story of a prince who
had met a woman being forced to be a servant. The prince had
fallen in love with the woman at first glance but nearly lost his love
when she disappeared from the ball they met at. The man had
been upset until finding the woman's slipper and deciding to
track her down.

In some ways, Aida was grateful for such a happy story
in others it hurt her. She wanted nothing more than to have someone
love her for who she was and Aida had stupidly thought she had seen
a spark in the future king's eyes when he looked at her.

"I am ready." Aida nodded. She had no where to go, no one
to take her in but Aida knew no matter how kind Prince Shadows was
asking any more of him was beyond what she deserved.

Aida followed the servant down the corridors without a look to
the room that had been her home for the last 5 nights. This was it.
The closest thing to home she would ever know. Aida swallowed
harshly. She would have to pass through the village to get anywhere
within the realm, if she went North her fate would be worst as the enemies
of her realm resided there.

Why had she not told Prince Shadows the names? Aida knew
deep in her heart she could not tell the prince the names and not feel
guilty. Her attackers had been taking of her body for many years until
recently when her parents had died freeing Aida from the experiences
of nightmares.
