~*~5 months after that~*~

I sat in the audience with Bill’s family and friends, smiling and clapping as he received the certificate that stated he was now fluent in ASL.

It only took him 8 months to complete, astonishing everyone.

Standing I walk slowly as everyone else ran to congratulate him, giving him an assortment of hugs, kisses and high fives. I wait until he noticed me, giving him my on hug before stepping back, ”Congratulations, Bill. You’re once again a speaking citizen of this world.”

He smiled, ”It does feel good to be able to have a full conversation. I just wish I could sing again.”

I smile, a thought forming in my mind, ”You can still sing, Bill.

He frowned, ”How?”
