In the small town of Midlothian, there is a deep rich history there that only some people know about. What once was a town of 1,083 is now going into a much larger town full of new fasces and places to see. Adain is new in school and she just can't seem to make friends and her mother isn't helping her either. Then everything changes when a dark storm comes to the small town and changes her life forever.

Adain first day at school. Sees to boy and the notice her looking at them. She climbs up into her tree top trying to find a clue to the necklace. Falls out of the tree and then sees something written on a ladder step.
