Ruler of Worlds
World One: Paradise
I was shaken awake by the littler girl.
"It's time to leave," The older man ordered. "You better find the door."
"I already know where to go."
"What-how?" He crossed his arms.
"My dreams told me," I stated.
"Alright I've had enough of your shit! You're fucking crazy," He snapped, pulling his fist back about to hit me. I flinched and when I didn't feel the blow I looked up just in time to see the boy who hadn't spoke holding the mans fist with his left hand and punching him with the other.
"We follow her," He said.
"Thank you," I whispered to him.
I turned to the left and had walked off the road. The pregnant woman screamed, probably thinking I was going to fall or vanish. I didn't. I kept walking and they followed. It looked like we were floating on air. We walked for about ten minutes in silence before seeing a light. I went the opposite direction of it.
"Where are you going? The lights that way!" The girl my age yelled.
"The dream told me not to go towards the light. The light is death."
"Okay this girl is full of shit. I've had enough of her. Why are we following-" The man talked funny because his nose was broken.
"Shut the fuck up!" The teenage boy screamed shocking us all. "Just shut the fuck up and do what she says. She hasn't been wrong yet has she?"
"Yes she has. She said the world was going to end. Not that there was a comet coming to the earth." The girl my age said trying to be smart.
"I think something is going on here. More than we can see. I think it's destiny. The comet came down right in front of her, right? She came inside but didn't stay there. She came back out and tried getting people to come in. I don't know about you guys but I felt like I had to come, like something was pulling me. And now she's having dreams telling her where to go. What if the door to Earth disappeared because the world ended? What if we're supposed to be here?" The boy said.
I... I felt it to," The little girl stuttered at the same time I said, "Yes, that makes sense.
Everyone else looked around and didn't say anything.
"You're both crazy," The man said but followed us anyway.
I was starting to worry there wasn't really another door and that I was crazy but then the pregnant women squealed.
"Look, another door!"
I ran to it and flung it open quickly stepping inside, everyone right at my heels. I gasped. It wasn't our Earth, that was for certain. It was beautiful. There were tall trees, the color of flame. The trunks were orange, the branches yellow, and the leaves red. The grass we walked on was red as blood, the sky was red and the light shining the sky was pure white. There were orange colored bushes covered in fruit, mostly strawberries which were my favorite. There were also pink and purple flowers and a flowing, clean bright blue river
"This place is beautiful..." I spoke. Walking over to one of the bushes I plucked off a few strawberries and cupped my hand into the river, dunking the strawberries in it to clean them. After I took a bite everyone else did the same as me then we sat in a circle.
"I think we should introduce ourselves. We don't really know each other and we're all in this so I think we should at least know each others names." I suggested.
The little girl piped up first. "I'm Mecca. I guess I'll tell you how old I am to. I just turned thirteen," She smiled.
The girl my age spoke next. "I'm Cadacornia. I'm sixteen."
"I'm Ambrosia, I'm twenty three." The pregnant women said.
The older man scowled, "My name is Jacen. I'm thirty eight."
Next the boy before myself. "I'm Kayshid. I'm seventeen."
"And I'm Maddox. I'm sixteen."
"Yeah we know who you are," Jacen snapped, "You've been causing problems for us for the past week.
"Sorry I didn't know I was causing people trouble.," I lowered my head.
"Leave her alone. She knew something was going to happen and she was just trying to warn everyone," Ambrosia said in my defense.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"You're welcome honey."
Standing up I wipped off my butt. "I'm going to look around and see what else is here." Kayshid stood up also.
"I'll come to." We wandered around and found nothing. Literally. There were no birds chirping in the trees, no bugs on the ground, no animals chasing after each other. Nothing. And it was creepy. As we walked over to the rest of the group I overheard Ambrosia.
"It's quiet... too quiet," She whispered.
"Yes it is," I said startling them, "There's no bugs, no animals, no other people. How can there be trees and flowers and a river without anything to use them?"
"I'm starting to get creeped out," Cadacornia agreed.
"It's starting to get dark. I'll look for a door and we can leave in the morning," I suggested.
"Yeah." They agreed.
