Scream Me a Dream

Chapter 101: A Day All Our Own

“It’s become unhealthy.” Soya teased as they walked off the elevator, Ville’s arms wrapped around her waist, hugging her tightly to his chest as he walked them forward.

“It’s your own fault.” He teased back, kissing the side of her neck as they reached their friends who were waiting for them

“What’s your fault?” Rosalind teased.

“Ville’s developed a very unhealthy fetish with my shoes.” Soya teased, tilting her head back to look at her fiancé.

Rosalind looked at Ville with a raised eyebrow. “Really Ville?”

“It’s not a fetish.” Ville laughed, “I just happen to enjoy Soya’s obsession with shoes.”

“And lace.” Soya muttered, low enough for Ville to hear and smirk at her.

“Love the shirt Soya.” Jyrki laughed.

Soya looked down at herself; she’s dressed in a pair of dark low rise skinny jeans and a black Misfits shirt, along with a pair of suede lace up ankle booties, that Ville had very much appreciated when she’d been lacing them up. She’d gathered her hair, half up and half down, before placing a grey beanie on top to keep the stray strands from getting into her face.

“We were watching Rock of Love reruns and she decided to settle on this one, after discovering she hadn’t packed her Poison shirt.” Ville said with a laugh.

“You have a Poison shirt?” Bam asked looking at Soya.

“Several.” Soya admitted with a small smile. “Josef and Rosalind have both added to my collection of Glam rock tees.”

“That Cinderella band tee was a tough one to find.” Rosalind said sticking out her tongue. “So Jyrki, Bam and I talked.”

“More like she talked.” Bam muttered.

“And we made a plan for today.” Rosalind continued ignoring Bam.

“Actually Ville and I al-” Soya started, only for Rosalind to lift her hand to stop Soya.

“We thought since I pulled you away yesterday, you and Ville could enjoy the sights today. I know you’ve been to Berlin a few times with the company but never get to look around.”

“True.” Soya said slowly, she’s been confined to the rehearsal studios, the theater and then her hotel room where she slept off the twelve to fourteen hour rehearsals.

“We thought…” Jyrki said. “That we could get together later tonight for dinner.”

“I was going to drag these two shopping.” Rosalind said thrusting her thumb over at Jyrki and Bam.

Soya bit her lip as she looked up at Ville. “Does that sound okay?”

Ville nodded slowly before looking down at Soya, having talked about that exact plan as they’d been getting ready. Only with one minor change, he looked at Rosalind. “Soya actually wanted to meet up with you before dinner; she said something about some shoes she wanted to buy.”

“The heels?” Rosalind asked with a smile.

“They were too cute to pass up.” Soya said with her own smile. “Plus with Ville’s new obsession with my shoes, I think he’ll like them too.”

“It’s not an obsession.” Ville said with a sigh, only for her to tilt her head up and kiss his chin.

“Definitely an obsession.” She said, before turning back to Rosalind. “Want to meet around four back here? Let the boys get together before going back to the shoe store.”

“That’s fine with me.” Rosalind said with a nod, before patting Jyrki’s chest and turning, obviously happy with the plan and done with the conversation. “Come on Jyrki, you promised me some shopping and I want to get Impi some new clothes.”

Jyrki shook his head, gesturing for Bam to follow him. “Of course it’s for Impi.”

“Have fun.” Bam said frowning at them. “I guess.” He gave a little salute before following Jyrki out of the lobby.

“Well that was easy.” Soya said looking up at Ville.

“Amazing that Rosalind was able to be flexible like that.”

“She knows when to let go.” Soya said unwinding his arms from around her waist. “Now you got the time you wanted with me, where are you taking me?”

Ville smiled at her. “Where do you want to go? I’ve been here before, a couple of times actually.” He laughed. “So I’ve seen some of the sights. I’m fine with wherever you want to go.”

“Would you hate it if we went to Museum Island?” she asked, biting her lip as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Not at all.” Ville said shaking his head. “Let’s grab a cab and we’ll go.”

Soya nodded, as she unwrapped her arms from his neck and let him lead her out of the lobby. Though Ville had been tense when they’d left the room, prepared to argue his case if necessary, the minute they got in the cab he’d relaxed, telling the driver where to go before pulling her closer.

They’d gone to Museum Island as she’d wanted, visiting two of the five museums that were there, the Bode Museum with its sculptures and paintings as well as the Alte Nationalgalerie, with its building inspired by the Grecian temples and enjoyed the paintings housed there.

From Museum Island, Ville took her to Botanisher Garten, the Botanical Gardens, knowing that she’d enjoy walking around the paths and seeing the different types of plants Berlin housed. They spent most of their time in the gardens, Ville’s arm wrapped around her shoulders, or their hands clasped as they took their time walking around. They shared kisses in the Orchid house, and he watched as she fell in love with the vivid orange, yellow and brown colors of the plants as they readied for winter.

Once they left the Gardens, she’d wanted to walk around Kurfürstendamm, the long street of Berlin that not only housed cafes and restaurants but a bunch of little boutiques, including the shoe store she wanted to go to.

He’d been prepared to take her, when he’d received a text from Jyrki telling him that they were already there, and figured they might as well meet up with their friends anyway, since Soya would probably have a better time shopping with Rosalind then with him, not that she would admit it.

“Have fun?” Jyrki asked as they walked up to him and Bam.

“Lots.” Soya nodded, looking around. “Where’s Rose?”

“She’s at the shoe store, said you’d know which one and to meet her there.” Jyrki said.

Soya nodded, looking up at Ville. “You’ll be fine?”

“Perfect.” Ville nodded, kissing the top of her head. “Go on, get your shoes.”

“You’ll love them.” She teased, kissing his cheek.

Ville rolled his eyes. “Go.”

Soya laughed, starting to turn, only for Ville to grab her hand and pull her back to him with a smirk, leaning down her kissed her lips, resting his forehead against hers. “I saw a lingerie shop,” he said lowly for only Soya to hear. “I wouldn’t mind if you got more lace either.”

Soya laughed pushing him away. “We’ll see.” Rolling her eyes she waved goodbye to Jyrki and Bam, placed on last kiss on Ville’s cheek before turning to walk towards the store she knew Rosalind was at.

Sure enough she reached the shoe store they’d seen the day before, Rosalind was trying on a pair of sandals, looking up as Soya sat down next to her.

“Have fun with your man?” Rosalind teased.

Soya nodded with a grin. “Lots, thanks.”

“For what?” Rosalind asked, slipping the sandal off her foot, before slipping her light blue flat back on.

“For giving me that time with him, I know it goes against your better nature.” Soya grinned.

Rosalind looked at her friend, the silly little smile Soya had been wearing since that morning when she’d exited the elevator, the way both she and Ville had kept each other close when they reached them, closer the usual, Rosalind corrected as they both were always very conscious of the other.

Rosalind smiled at Soya, her friend had definitely had sex the night before, but Rosalind knew better then to ask outright, knowing Soya would clam up the minute she was asked. Instead she would let Soya tell her in her own way.

“You and Ville left early last night.” Rosalind said carefully.

“Mmm, we stayed about an hour before it got too crowded.”

Rosalind gave a quite laugh. “It was a concert, of course it got crowded.”

Soya gave a little quiet laugh. “I know.”

Rosalind grinned at her. “The rest of your night was good then?”

Soya bit her lip, as she thought about the night before, as well at that morning in the shower, she gave Rosalind a quick nod feeling her cheeks heat. “Perfect.”

Rosalind laughed, kissing her friends cheek. “That’s all I wanted to know.” Rosalind admitted, letting the subject drop. “Now let’s get you your heels.”

“We might have to hit up one more store before meeting up with the boys.” Soya said, that silly little grin appearing once again.

XxxxxxX

They’d been sitting at a large table at one of the restaurants slash pubs that Jyrki had insisted they go to since it was one he and Rosalind both frequented when they visited Berlin together. Bam and Jyrki nursed cold beers, while Vile stuck with Coke, tuning in and out of the conversation that was going on around him.

They hadn’t talked about that morning, though when Bam had briefly left the table to use the restroom, Jyrki had asked him quite simply if he’d had a good night. Ville had given a short nod and let the subject drop. Jyrki hadn’t brought it up again, and Ville hadn’t wanted him too. His sex life with Soya was private and something he wouldn’t go around sharing with friends, no matter how close to them he was.

Jyrki had called Rosalind a half an hour ago, telling her where they were and that they were waiting for her and Soya to order. Rosalind had assured that they were almost done, and Soya was just deciding on some final purchases. He wondered what purchase took a half an hour to decide on.

“Ville.”

Ville blinked looking up at Bam who was staring at him. “What?”

“I asked what you were planning for your birthday.” Bam laughed, “It’s coming up.”

Ville nodded. “It is, I’m not really sure though. I haven’t given it much thought.”

“Nothing you want to do?” Jyrki asked. “Has Soya mentioned anything?”

Ville shook his head. “No, she hasn’t, my birthday lands on a Monday this year, so we’ll probably go out to an early dinner, so Aida can get to bed early enough for school the next day. I don’t really want anything big.”

“Are you staying in Helsinki for Christmas?” Bam asked.

“Probably, though I should probably start thinking on what to do for Soya’s birthday, since it lands on the same day. Why?”

“Jussi and I were thinking of doing something at Bäkkäri a few days before Christmas. I wanted to know if you were staying in town so you could come.” Bam admitted.

“I think we might, we haven’t really talked about it, but I think Soya wants to spend Christmas with my family. Especially with her father gone and her mother being…well her mother.” He ran a hand through his hair. “I don’t even know if we’ll still have Aida.”

“How long has she been with you guys now?” Jyrki asked, thinking of Soya’s little sister.

“When did Jonah pass?” Ville asked with a sigh, “I have no idea when Elizabeth is going to decided to be a mother again, so plans are kind of in the air at the moment at least for now. I think we’ll stay in town though.” Ville said looking back at Bam. “Since Soya’s been in Helsinki, she really hasn’t wanted to leave, I think Rosalind pretty much nagged Soya to death just for us to come out here and leave her little sister back in Hels, which took me giving Soya another pep talk all together.”

“She didn’t want to leave Aida?” Jyrki asked taking a drag of his beer.

“She didn’t want Aida to think we were just dumping her somewhere, but we talked to her this morning and she’s having fun with my parents so Soya’s more okay with it now.”

Bam stared at his friend in near shock, about to say something only to be interrupted when a blur of turquoise and bright pink took a seat next to Jyrki and took a drag of Jyrki’s beer.

“Starving.” Rosalind admitted, kissing Jyrki’s cheek. “Did you order?”

“We’ve been waiting for you guys.” Jyrki told her.

Ville was about to ask where Soya was, only to feel Soya’s light touch rub his back lightly. He turned to see Soya sit next to him and lean forward to kiss him softly.

“Hey.” She said against his lips.

“Hey back.” He said, eyeing the multiple bags at her feet. “I thought you were just getting shoes.”

“I found some purses.” Soya admitted, resting her forehead against his chest, feeling his laughter rumble against her.

“To add to the three boxes of purses you already have in your closet and the one you have in mine?”

“Yes?” Soya asked with a quiet laugh.

“Addict.” He teased, kissing the top of her head. “You look tired.”

“I am.” Soya sighed, closing her eyes. “I’m not really hungry either; I just want to go back to the hotel and rest. Maybe take a warm bath.”

Ville nodded slowly. “Sore?” he asked quietly ignoring the hum of conversation around them, forgetting that they were at a table with friends.

“A little.” She said, though he felt the smile curve on her lips against his chest. “Worth it though.”

Ville laughed. “Most definitely, want me to call us a cab?”

Soya shook her head against his chest, biting her lip to keep the moan in when his fingers started trailing up and down her spine. “You stay, have dinner, come back the hotel when you’re ready.”

“Are you sure?”

Soya lifted her head and nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure, I’m just going to relax for little while. I’ll probably be on the couch watching TV when you come in.”

“All right.” Ville nodded, “I’ll walk you out then.”

“You had sex!”

Ville blinked, and turned to Bam with a frown, only for Soya to sigh. “And that’s my cue to leave.” Soya said gathering her bags and kissing his cheek. “I’ll see you later all right?”

“Wait, Soya.” Ville said, only to call out to her back, sighing he turned back to Bam with a glare.

“I don’t like you.” Rosalind announced, glaring at Bam herself. “You’ve crossed that line you were tiptoeing, and I’ve decided not to like you.” She looked back at Ville, her gaze softening. “I’ll go make sure Soya’s okay.” Then turned to her boyfriend. “Keep the asshole away from me.” She grabbed her purse and left the restaurant before Soya left.

“Do you not know when to keep your mouth shut?”? Ville asked in disbelief.

Bam stared at Ville shocked at having his friend’s anger directed at him. “What?”

“Jyrki and even Rosalind, who tends to be one of the worst people in the world to get a clue, knew to keep their mouths shut, how is it that you didn’t pick up on it?”

“Pick up on what?!” Bam asked, feeling his own anger rise. “You act as if this is the first time you guys have fucked.”

“Bam, shut up.” Jyrki said, gripping his friends arm, keeping his eyes on Ville who was staring at Bam in disbelief.

“There was a reason we left Helsinki this week Bam.” Ville said with more calm then he felt. “There was a reason why I didn’t tell anyone except for my parents and my little sister as to where we were staying.”

Jyrki blinked at Ville calling Aida his little sister, he’d never heard Ville call her that before, he either referred to her by name or Soya’s little sister, never his. Jyrki really wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

“The fact that you called my mother to find out where we were should have been the first clue Bam.” Ville ran a hand through his hair. “All I fucking wanted was one fucking day with my fian-” he shook his head catching himself. “With my girlfriend. One. Fucking. Day. Why is that so fucking hard to accomplish?”

“If I’d known you were going to be such a fucking bastard about this I wouldn’t have come up here.” Bam said with a glare.

“No one asked you too!” Ville said his voice a bit louder. He rubbed his face in agitation before getting up. “I can’t stay here.”

“Ville at least have dinner.” Jyrki said calmly.

Ville shook his head. “I just…I’m too fucking pissed for this shit.” He muttered, pulling out his wallet and dropping a few Euros on the table to cover his drink.

“I never took you for a guy to put a girl before your friends.”

“Fuck off Bam.” Ville muttered walking away from the table.

Bam turned to Jyrki. “What the hell is wrong with him?”

Jyrki blew out a breath before answering Bam’s questions with a question of his own. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

“Nothing!”

“I thought you and Soya had a truce.”

“We do!” Bam said quickly.

“Then why the hell would you do that to her?”

“Do what?!” Bam asked in genuine confusion.

“Announce to the restaurant they had sex.” Jyrki said quietly.

Bam frowned. “So? It was a general statement, I made an observation, they’ve obviously had sex since the last time I saw them, and I was right. It’s not like it was their first time.”

Jyrki sighed. “It was.”

“What?” Bam asked blinking.

“It was, last night was their first time together.”

“Oh come on.” Bam scoffed.

“I’m serious.” Jyrki said. “Ville and Soya haven’t had sex before last night. Rosalind and I figured that that’s why the left early last night.”

“Well how the fuck was I suppose to know?” Bam asked. “I’m not a mind reader.”

“But you do know what topics of conversation are socially acceptable and obviously announcing to the table and half the restaurant that your friends had sex isn’t one of them.” Jyrki shook his head. “Come on Bam, you knew that was going to piss him off.”

“He’s so fucking sensitive when it comes to Soya.” Bam muttered.

“But you know he is.” Jyrki said with a sigh. “You know that his relationship with Soya is different, she’s not just some girl Bam.”

Bam frowned at him, only for Jyrki to realize a few things all at once; Bam hadn’t noticed that Ville had called Aida his little sister, he also hadn’t caught Ville slip when he’d nearly called Soya his fiancé, which explained the pretty little ring Soya wore on her ring finger for the past two day, when she usually changed her ring every day. Jyrki also realized that Bam didn’t live in Helsinki with them, so of course Bam hadn’t noticed just how serious Ville was about Soya and vice versa.

Jyrki sighed, “Look, I get that the last time you saw them they were just reconnecting Bam, but you have to see just in the couple of hours you’ve seen them how serious they are about each other.”

Bam shrugged. “Sure, but-“

“No buts.” Jyrki said cutting his friend off. “Ville isn’t your drinking buddy anymore Bam, he hasn’t been for a while.”

“I know that.” Bam muttered.

“He’s nearly 34, he’s found what may very well be the love of his life, and he’s settling down Bam.”

“You don’t know that.”

“I do!” Jyrki laughed. “He considers Soya’s little sister his own, he takes care of her, he lectures her, he…fathers her. He won’t admit it, but he dreads Soya’s mother coming back for Aida, just as much if not more than Soya does. He's building a life with Soya, Bam, there’s no changing his mind on that. You can’t tell me that I don’t know what I’m talking about when I see them nearly every week.”

Jyrki watched Bam as he played with his beer bottle, “Why are you so against Soya?”

“I’m not,” Bam said quickly. “I’m really not, I guess I just didn’t expect her to change him so much.”

Jyrki gave a disbelieving laugh, “You think Soya is the one changing him?” Jyrki shook his head. “Bam, if Soya’s changing him, she’s changing him for the better. She gets him out of his tower, Bam, that in and of itself is an amazing thing.” Jyrki shook his head, thinking about their gathering a few days ago. “He’s letting more than one person in his tower too. We all got together back there a few days ago and all it took was a ‘please’ from Jussi and a kiss from Soya to make it happen.”

Bam nodded, knowing that while Ville didn’t mind having people in his home, he considered his home a private place, a place for him to sleep and live his life, as well as a place for him to work. He rarely liked people coming up to his door and knocking unless it was a close friend, and even then Ville wasn’t too fond of too many people traipsing all over his tower.

“How many people were there?”

Jyrki thought about it, before answering. “Linde and Toni along with Olivia, then Mige, Vedrana, Isolde, Jussi and myself, then Ville, Soya and Aida. Gas was suppose to come too with Natali and his daughter but they couldn’t make it, same goes for Jesse, so it was suppose to be nearly 15, but ended up being 11.”

Jyrki shrugged. “She does him good Bam. I’m not saying she’s a miracle worker as Soya enjoys her privacy just as much as Ville. I get that you don’t like that one of your closest friends is changing, but he’s growing up Bam, I mean, it’s about time don’t you think?”

Bam blinked. “And you?”

“What about me?”

“Are you thinking about settling down with your chick?”

Jyrki chuckled. “Bam, I’ve been trying to get the woman to marry me for almost six years and it hasn’t happened yet. I’m not the same Helsinki Vampire that puked in the middle of an LA suburban neighborhood because I drank too much Jäger.” Jyrki laughed. “I’ve grown up myself.” He patted Bam’s shoulder. “Maybe it’s time you start doing it yourself.”

XxxxxxX

Ville tried hard not to slam the hotel door behind him, especially when he saw Soya lying on the couch, curled up in one of his shirts as she watched TV.

“Hey.” She said, before frowning at him. “You didn’t have dinner.”

“You didn’t take a bath.” He said back, motioning her to lift her head. She lifted her head letting him sit down, before laying her head on his leg, feeling Ville’s arm drop to rest at her side, his fingers absently making circles on the outside of her bare thighs.

Soya bit her lip, before turning onto her back to look up at him, taking his hand to rest it on her stomach, playing with his fingers. “You’re upset.” She said finally.

Ville looked away from the TV to look at her. “Why do you say that?”

“Because the look you shot Bam would have killed him had it been possible.” Soya teased, reaching up to smooth out his frown lines. “I don’t like it when you frown.”

“I’ll try not to frown then.” He teased, feeling himself calm a bit more.

“I’m not upset Ville.” Soya admitted, only to roll her eyes when he frowned at her. “Will you stop frowning!” she laughed, smoothing her fingers over his forehead, “Your face is going to stick like that.”

“Why aren’t you upset?”

“How was Bam supposed to know we hadn’t had sex before last night?” Soya said with a shrug dropping her fingers as his features smoothed on their own. “He hasn’t seen us since May and I’m not sure when the last time you talked to him was, I mean I’m sure saying we’ve had sex isn’t the stupidest thing to come out of his mouth.”

“True.” Ville muttered.

“I’m not upset about it, I’m annoyed, sure, mostly because whether or not we’ve slept together isn’t anyone’s business but our own, but I’m not upset by the comment. I don’t see why you are, I mean, it’s true, we had sex, no use denying it like we do our engagement.”

Ville stared at her for a minute, before running his fingers through her hair, pulling the strands carefully out from behind her head. “I’m not upset by what was said.” He said slowly. “I’m upset that I can’t even get one day.”

Soya laughed. “You’re pouting!”

“Soya.” Ville groaned.

“Oh shush.” She laughed. “We’ve had sex, we’re alone now, so what if our friends are nosy Ville, we should be use to it by now.”

“But-”

“Ville, our goal for this trip was to ultimately just spend time together, without our friends either knocking or calling every five minutes, without fear of starting something and my little sister walking in on us.” She laughed “Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t plan to answer my phone unless it’s your parents or Aida, and I don’t see anyone in this room but us.”

“But-”

“Rosalind isn’t going to come knocking to drag me out, since I made her swear she wouldn’t knock unless it was a valid emergency and neither will Jyrki. Why are you so upset about something that you knew would end up happening?”

“What do you mean?” Ville asked, watching her as she spoke, his fingers still running through her hair, while she played with his hand that lay on her stomach.

“We knew coming here with Jyrki and Rosalind we’d have to spend time with them, you know going to Barcelona, we’re going to be spending time with Rosalind and her family along with Imps. We came here knowing that Ville.”

“I know.”

“Then why are you upset!?” Soya asked with a laugh. “You had me all to yourself last night, and even with one minor interruption you had me to yourself all this morning and this afternoon, and oh…what is this?” she asked, sitting up to look around their room. “Well, look at that, we’re alone now.”

Ville rolled his eyes. “You can stop now; you’ve made your point.”

Soya laughed, shifting so she sat in his lap, kissing him gently, moving her lips slowly against his, before pulling back. “I understand where you’re coming from Ville, I know it’s frustrating, our friends suck sometimes. I mean, really really suck sometimes.”

“They do.” Ville sighed.

“And, you have to know that some days I don’t want to share you either, not even with my sister.”

Ville laughed. “Really?”

“Oh, I get insanely jealous when you give her all your attention.” Soya laughed. “I like that I get your undivided attention for the rest of the week, just like you’ll get mine. Sure I’ll have to share you with Impi as the girl adores you.” Soya grinned, “But right now, we’re alone, in a hotel room, in Berlin, with shopping bags full of heels that I know you’ll love and lace underwear you have yet to see.”

“All right, I’m not mad anymore.”

“That’s what I thought.” Soya laughed, shifting off of him. “The bags are in the bedroom, go get them and I might just be inclined to model some of the underwear for you.”

“And best fiancé of the year award definitely goes to you.” Ville said getting off the couch to get the shopping bags.

“Of the year?!” Soya asked with a laugh. “I don’t model underwear for just anyone you know!”

XxxxxxX

Bam ran a hand over his face as he stepped off the elevator and walked towards Ville’s room, Jyrki’s words echoing in his head, along with Ville’s angry words telling him to fuck off.

He’d fucked up, he thought walking down the hall slowly. He’d known even back in May that Ville’s relationship with Soya was different, and they hadn’t even officially been together. Hell he’d been one f the people vying to get them together, but Jyrki had been right in some aspects, but he’d been wrong in others.

It wasn’t that Bam hated seeing Ville, grow up and settle down with someone Ville so obviously loved and with something who so obviously loved him back. Hell he was happy that one of his best friends was so sickingly in love.

What Bam hated was that his best friend seemed to be forgetting about him. They hadn’t seen each other since May, and hadn’t talked to each other since…Bam blinked as he thought back, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d actually talked to Ville on the phone. It had to have been before August though, he thought, when he and Ville usually caught up with each other at least once every two weeks.

He was about to knock on the hotel room door, only for the sound of Soya’s laugh to make him pause.

“Go put it on.” He heard Ville say.

“So demanding.”

“Wait!” Ville laughed. “You have any shoes to match them?”

“Seriously?”

“Yeah, did you get any shoes to match it?”

“I don’t match my shoes to my underwear Ville!”
Soya laughed.

“Of course you do! I know you have some red shoes in here somewhere.”

Bam heard Ville laugh, before backing away from the door and walking back down the hall, stuffing his hands on his wallet. His apology could wait, no use pissing off Ville more when the man was so happy.
