“Ville.”

Ville groaned, burying his face further into the pillow and tightening his arm around Soya who slept next to him.

“Ville.”

“Hmm?”

“Ville, wake up.”

Ville frowned when he felt hand on his back pushing him, turning his head, he saw Aida staring at him in frustration. “What’s up?”

“My alarm went off.”

“All right?” Ville answered, still filled with sleep.

“I have to go to school.”

Ville blinked, “Right, right.”

“You have to help me get ready!” Aida cried, though her voice was still low enough so she wouldn’t wake anyone else up in the room.

Ville groaned as he unwrapped his arm from around Soya and sat up, running a hand through his hair as he looked back at her sleeping form, only to frown when he found Rosalind and Jyrki in the bed with them. Shaking his head, he got out bed and followed Aida out of the bedroom and into the guest room.

“Do I need to help you shower?” Ville asked, rubbing his face tiredly, only to catch Aida’s glare. “What?”

“I’m eight, not four, I can shower by myself, plus I took a shower last night.”

“Sorry.” Ville said, opening the closet where Aida’s school uniform hung. “Then as an eight year old, think you can mange putting on your uniform?”

“I just need help with the zipper.” Aida said pulling the pajama shirt over her head as Ville handed her the white button down shirt with the rounded collar. From what Ville remembered when he went to school, he hadn’t worn uniforms, as most Finnish schools didn’t require them. Though from what he remembered from picking Soya up from school when they’d been younger, she had gone to a private school, which Aida was now attending, and uniforms were mandatory.

He laid the plaid dress out on the bed for her as he went searching in her bag for the thick, black knee length tights she usually wore with her uniform. Once found, he turned around to see her pulling on the dress. He zipped up the back of Aida’s dress, accepting the pink pajama bottoms she handed him, before gesturing for her to put on the socks as he kneeled down on the ground to look under the bed, searching for her black and white Mary Jane shoes.

“Do I have to go to school?” Aida asked pulling the sock on over her knee.

“I think Soya is pretty set on getting you back to school today.” Ville said, pulling out one of the shoes. “Start putting it on, I’ll buckle it for you in a minute.”

“But it’s mid way through the week.”

“Then all the better, you only have three days before the weekend.” Ville teased pulling out the other shoe and placing it on the bed, before sitting cross legged in front of her.

“What are you going to do today?”

Ville shrugged. “I don’t know, I’m not the one that has to go to school.” He smirked, making sure the shoes were buckled evenly. “Do I need to feed you too?”

“That would be nice.” Aida smiled swinging her feet.

Ville sighed. “How about you go grab your backpack and all your stuff, while I go put on a shirt and call a cab; I’ll buy you some breakfast before you have to go to school.”

“Fine.” Aida muttered hopping off the bed and heading towards the living room. Ville shook his head, going back into the bedroom and grabbing a shirt from the floor, making sure it was his own, before slipping the plain black shirt over his head. Sitting on the edge of the bed next to Soya, he slipped his feet into his Converse before leaning down and kissing the side of her neck.

“Mmm?”

“I’ll be right back.” He whispered.

“Going?” She muttered, her eyes still closed, causing him to chuckle.

“To take Aida to school.” He answered back quietly.

“All right.” She whispered, pulling the covers over her head, putting an end to their conversation. Ville chuckled lowly, getting off the bed and grabbing his grey hoodie before leaving the room, closing the door behind him.

“Ready?” he asked, seeing Aida shoulder the pink backpack. Aida nodded and grabbed the Hello Kitty umbrella by the door as well. “You have all your homework in there too?”

“Yep, Soya made me pack it up after I finished it all yesterday.”

“All right then; off we go.” Ville said pulling out his cell phone and calling a cab to take him and Aida to her school. He closed the door behind them, making sure it was locked, telling the woman on the other end where they were as he followed Aida down the steps.

“We’ll wait here for the cab,” he said gesturing towards the bench near Soya’s apartment building.

“Okay.” Aida said, sitting on the bench next to Ville.

“So,” Ville said frowning at the little girl. “Why’d you wake me up?”

Aida tilted her head at him. “Huh?”

“Why didn’t you wake Soya up to help you get ready, she’s usually the one that helps you, isn’t she?”

Aida shrugged, looking down at the pavement. “I don’t know; you were closer.”

Ville raised an eyebrow. “That’s why you woke me up at seven thirty in the morning, because I was closer?”

Aida sighed, looking back at Ville. “I heard Soya crying last night.”

Ville blinked. “Oh.”

Aida shrugged. “It’s her turn to be sad, right?”

Ville nodded slowly, not sure how else he could respond other then, “Right.”

“I just didn’t want to bother her if she was still sad.”

Ville sighed, leaning down to kiss the young girl’s head. “This isn’t something you should be worried about, Aida; Soya wants you to bother her. It’s what little sisters are for, all right?”

Aida nodded. “All right.”

“You’re much too wise for your age, you know that?”

Aida giggled. “That’s what Soya tells me.”

Ville chuckled as he saw the cab turn the corner, “Come on, let’s get you fed and off to school.”

“Can we go to a restaurant?” Aida asked with wide eyes as she climbed into the cab.

Ville shook his head with a laugh as he ducked into the cab himself, telling the driver the name of the school. “I think today you’re going to have to deal with a muffin and a hot chocolate from a café.”

“Fine.” Aida sighed.

Ville chuckled as he leaned his head back against the cab seat and closed his eyes, “Maybe tomorrow, if we all wake up early enough, we’ll go out for breakfast.”

“Really?!”

“I said maybe.” He said, opening one eye to look at her. “It’s all up to Soya.”

“I can deal with that.”

Ville laughed. “Good.”

Fifteen minutes later, they were exiting the cab; Ville told the cab driver to wait as they walked down a block from Aida’s school to a small café. As he’d promised, he got Aida a small hot chocolate and a chocolate chip muffin, figuring he wasn’t the one that would have to deal with the aftermath of her sugar intake; he got a coffee for himself as well.

“Are you going to pick me up after school?” Aida asked picking at her muffin as they sat on the steps that led up to her school.

“If you want. Soya and I can come pick you up.” Ville nodded.

“Are we going to go back to your house?”

Ville laughed. “You really like the tower, don’t you?”

Aida nodded with a grin. “It’s so cool in there!”

“I think we can stay at my place.” Ville nodded. “I don’t see why we can’t.” Ville watched as cars started to pull up, dropping more children off. “Are you going to be okay?”

Aida nodded. “I’ll be okay.”

“All right,” Ville said, standing up, taking Aida’s empty cup and trash. “Have a good day then.”

“Thank you Ville.” Aida smiled, getting up and turning, heading up the steps before turning back around with a frown.

“What’s wrong?” Ville asked.

“You didn’t pack me a lunch.”

Ville laughed. “I didn’t know I was supposed to!”

Aida stuck out her hand with a grin, causing Ville to roll his eyes before pulling out his wallet and handing Aida some notes. “Is that good?” he asked teasingly.

Aida looked at them, before shaking her head. “Five more.”

Ville sighed, giving in and handing her five more Euros. “Your private school has an expensive meal plan.”

“Only the best for a Toivonen.” Aida said, sticking out her tongue at him before running up the steps.

Ville turned, throwing away their trash before getting back into the cab and directing the driver back to Soya’s apartment.

He didn’t mind being woken up early to get Aida ready, he actually kind of liked being rudely awakened by the eight year old and being pushed around by her. He had to admit that he did worry about her going to school that day, wondering if maybe it was too soon and too fresh in everyone’s mind. He thought about how Aida was like a little carbon copy of Soya, how Soya hated pitying looks, and wondered if Aida would come home upset due to those looks.

He paid the driver once they were outside of Soya’s building, got out of the cab and made his way up the steps to the apartment. Walking in, he pulled off his hoodie, throwing it on the couch, and was about to make his way back to the bedroom when he heard clanging in the kitchen.

“Morning.” He greeted, watching as Soya poured mugs of coffee.

“Morning.” Soya smiled.

“Morning sunshine.”

Ville turned and saw Rosalind and Jyrki sitting at the counter. “Morning. Explain to me how you both ended up in bed with us.”

“When you say it like that, you make it sound dirty.” Rosalind teased, thanking Soya as she accepted the coffee mug.

Jyrki smirked, accepting his coffee as well, before speaking. “After you brought Soya back in, Linde and Mige left, but Rosalind and I wanted to stay, we were going to stay on the couch, but Rosalind assured me it would be fine if we slept on the bed since there was enough room.”

Rosalind rolled her eyes. “Yes, blame it all on me; you didn’t want to sleep on the couch either.”

“I didn’t say I didn’t.” Jyrki hedged. “Soya has a very comfortable bed.”

“Yes, that’s why we sleep on it.” Ville muttered, smiling lightly at Soya as she handed him a coffee mug. “By the way, Aida took all my cash from me, so if we go out today I need to stop and get some; I barely had enough to pay the driver back.”

Soya frowned at him. “Why did Aida take your cash?”

Ville shrugged. “Forgot to pack her a lunch, I had to give her lunch money.”

Rosalind laughed, covering her mouth quickly as Soya stared at him. “You gave Aida lunch money?”

“Doesn’t Aida go to a private school?” Rosalind asked with a large grin.

“She does.” Ville nodded. “Why?”

“I don’t know how it works here.” Rosalind started, “But at Impi’s kindergarten, lunch is included in the tuition.”

Soya bit her lip to hide her smile. “As it is here, Aida gets free lunch and very rarely do we pack it. How much did you give her?”

“Twenty.” Ville said slowly. “Then, why the hell did I give her money?”

Jyrki laughed. “Isn’t there a candy shop near that school?”

Soya nodded. “And Aida has a giant sweet tooth; you are most definitely dealing with that sugar high.” Soya laughed, leaning against the counter and grinning at her boyfriend.

Rosalind laughed. “You got hustled by an eight year old.”

Ville rolled his eyes, he might have gotten hustled by an eight year old, but it had definitely been worth it to see that eight year old smile. “What are you two up to today?”

“Promised Lyn a shopping trip.” Jyrki said with a wince. “We’re going to Itäkeskus.”

“Poor bastard.” Ville muttered against his coffee mug, as he thought about the indoor shopping center in the district of Itäkeskus was which contained nearly 240 stores and over 30 restaurants.

“I want to go!” Soya said looking at Ville. “Can we go?”

“Poor bastard.” Jyrki teased.

Ville sighed, he had accompanied Jyrki and Rosalind during one of Rosalind’s shopping whims and the girl could quite literally spend the entire day shopping; he could only imagine how much worse it would be when Soya went with her. “It’s going to make you happy if we go, won’t it?”

“Very happy.” Soya nodded.

Ville nodded slowly. “Fine, but I promised Aida we would pick her up, so we can’t stay all day, they can.” He said nodding over to Jyrki and Rosalind, “But we can’t.”

“Then it’s set!” Rosalind grinned. “Jyrki and I will leave now then, get ready and meet you there, say ten?”

“Perfect.” Soya nodded.

“Then why don’t you two go together, have fun shopping,” Jyrki suggested. “While Ville and I stay home?”

“Because you promised to take me.” Rosalind said looking at her boyfriend.

Jyrki groaned. “Lyn,”

Ville laughed. “It’s really no use; we’ve been roped in.”

Jyrki sighed getting up from the stool. “Fine, we’ll go. We’ll meet you at ten.”

“We’ll see you then.” Soya said with a smile, watching as they walked out of her dining room, and heard the front door close behind them. She turned to Ville who was still sipping his coffee. “Do you want to go?”

Ville shrugged. “If you want to, that’s fine.” Ville laughed at himself. “We both know that we’re content staying in for the day, but if you want to go shopping that’s fine by me. I should probably pick up an air mattress for Aida anyway.”

“Why?” Soya asked.

“I was thinking we could stay at my place tonight, but I still don’t have any place for Aida to sleep other than the couch.”

“So sweet.” She said pinching his cheek, moving around him to put her empty mug in the sink.

“Hey.” Ville said quietly, putting his mug down and taking her hand, bringing her to stand in front of him. “How are you doing?”

“I’m fine.”

“Soya,” Ville sighed.

“I am.” She nodded. “I’m sad; I can’t argue that I’m sad Ville, and I can’t argue that I’m still upset, but I’m fine; I’m not holding anything in anymore, I’m all cried out.”

Ville nodded, she’d cried herself to sleep the night before, he’d held her out on the balcony until she’d tired herself out and he had a feeling that Soya had cried six days worth of pent up tears the night before. She had let everything go, so if she said she was fine, he had to believe it.

“I don’t want to hold on to it,” She whispered, playing with the collar of his shirt. “I don’t want to be angry about this anymore Ville, I just…don’t. So I’m taking Aida’s approach to things.”

“Oh?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I’m happy.” Soya nodded, looking at him. “Today I’m happy, and I want to be happy.”

Ville smiled. “No one should deny you that, love.” He leaned down and kissed her softly. “We should probably go shower, start getting ready for today.”

“Showering together never ends well for us; really, anything in that bathroom never ends well for us.” Soya teased.

Ville chuckled, “You wanted to be happy right?” Ville asked, walking her backwards out of the kitchen, towards the bathroom.

“I do.” Soya laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck, allowing him to lead her.

“Then we’ll be happy in the bathroom.” Ville teased, running his hands down her back and underneath her sleep shirt, which was his ‘Hanoi Rocks’ shirt, pushing it up, causing her to let go of his neck and allow him to pull the shirt up over her head. He ran his hands down her sides, a groan escaping her lips when his palms brushed the sides of her bare breasts.

“Eyes up here.” Soya whispered, when his eyes stayed trained on her chest.

Ville chuckled, leaning down to kiss her neck as he felt her own fingers span his waist, pushing up his shirt. “Turn on the water.”

Soya nodded softly pulling away lightly, her bottom lip captured between her teeth as she turned and opened the stall door, turning on the hot water. She reached up, pulling her hair out of the loose bun she’d placed it in, tossing the bands on the floor before turning and watching as Ville stripped off his shirt.

“Thank you for taking Aida to school.” Soya said softly, watching as he unsnapped his jeans. “You could have woken me up and I would have taken her.”

Ville shrugged, not quite wanting to tell Soya the reason why Aida had woke him up and not her, as he didn’t want her to worry. “I didn’t mind.”

“You’ve taken to her haven’t you?”

“Why does it feel wrong to talk about your sister as we’re undressing to take a shower?” Ville teased, watching as she pushed down her flannel bottoms. “And yes, I have.” He admitted, looking at the lace boy shorts she wore.

“I’m glad; she’s taken to you too.” Soya said, biting her lip as they stared at each other. Each had one more barrier of clothes left, and it was up to them to decide who would make that first move to take it off. Soya bit her lip as she felt the steam of the water start to fill the bathroom, before giving a small smirk, hooking her thumbs on either side of her boy shorts and pushing them down to the floor. Stepping out of them, she raised an eyebrow in Ville’s direction before turning and getting into the shower.

Ville shook his head, his own smirk forming as he pushed his boxers down opening the door to the shower and following her in.

“You have no idea how proud I am of you.” He whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist.

“Why?” she laughed, her arms coming around to wrap around his neck as her back pressed against his chest.

“Five months ago, had I even suggested we take a shower together you would have fought me on it, now look at you, taking off your underwear in front of me.”

“And look, no blush.” She teased.

“Bet I can make you blush.” Ville teased back, his fingers running up and down the tattoo on her ribs. “I’ve been thinking of getting another.”

“Another what?” Soya murmured her eyes closed as her head rested against his chest.

“A tattoo.” He chuckled, his fingers going around to the other side of her ribs. “Right here.” He whispered circling the area right underneath her left breast.

“Of?” She asked her voice low as her back arched.

“You.” Ville whispered, kissing the side of her neck, nipping lightly.

Soya chuckled lowly her eyes opening as she turned in his arms, moving them around so Ville was under the stream of water, enjoying the view of his hair plastering around his face. “Not of me.”

“No?” he asked his lips quirking up.

“No.” she said shaking her head with her own smile.

Ville leaned down, capturing her lips with his, feeling her hands tighten around his neck as she kept him in place. “My body.”

“My face.” Soya argued against his lips with a laugh.

“Who said I was getting your face?” Ville asked, pulling away with a grin.

“You’re not getting me on your body Ville.” Soya laughed, letting go of his neck to reach around him for the wash cloth.

“Really?” he asked raising his eyebrow amused.

Soya nodded. “Really.”

“What if I told you I didn’t want your face on me, but I wanted you on me?”

“I’d say you better rephrase that.” She teased, grabbing her body wash and squirting it into the wash cloth. “Ville, are you asking me for permission or are you telling me you’re going to get it?”

Ville thought about it, watching entranced as she ran the wash cloth over her arm, across her shoulder and started to work the suds over her chest, feeling all his blood leave his head and rush down.

“Ville!”

“What?” he asked looking up at her, grinning when he saw the blood filling her cheeks. “Told you I would make you blush.”

“Yes, well, thank you for the standing ovation.” She said with a roll of her eyes.

Ville laughed, placing his hands on her hips, and bringing her closer, a groan escaping her lips when their hips made contact. “You are very welcome, love.”

“You didn’t answer my question.” She whispered, her fingers tiptoeing across his chest, tracing the Heartagram around his nipple. “Are you asking or telling?”

“What would you say if I said I was telling you?”

“You can’t answer my question with a question of your own Ville.”

“I just did.”

Soya sighed, looking down at her fingers on his chest. “I would say that it’s your body.”

Ville blinked, looking down at her gaze averted. “I thought you would be happy about it.” He whispered.

“It’s not that I’m not happy about it, Ville.” Soya admitted, before sighing and taking his left hand off her hip and showing him his ring finger with the faded burn marks on it.

“Oh, Soya.” Ville breathed, as she dropped his hand.

“I don’t want you to come to a point in your life where you regret it.”

“You mean a point in my life where we are no longer together.” Ville corrected her.

“I never said that.” She said, looking up at him.

“But you insinuated it.” Ville pointed out calmly.

“I don’t…want to think about a time where we’re not together, that’s not how a relationship is supposed to function, right? Seeing a time where we aren’t together, rather than looking forward to the time we are.”

“Right.” Ville said slowly.

“But didn’t you think you’d be with Jonna forever? Isn’t that why you got the ‘J’ tattooed?”

Ville rested his forehead against hers, talking about ex-fiancé while sporting an erection because he’d watched his present girlfriend soaping up was not what he thought would be happening when he’d suggested they shower together.

“Yes,” he finally admitted lowly, closing his eyes, wondering where Soya was taking the conversation.

“I just…”

“Keep going,” he whispered, “Get it all out.”

“It’s just…a part of me, a very, very small part of me,” she assured, “Is insecure about this. It’s the part of me that hears my mother’s voice telling me that I don’t deserve this.”

Ville hugged her closer, kissing her forehead and moving down to the side of her neck, peppering her with small kisses. “Believe me when I say you deserve this Soya, we both do.”

“It’s not that I don’t want you to get it,” She whispered, lowering her fingers to trace the empty space on his body. “I’m flattered and so honored that you would want me permanently on your body, Ville.”

“We’ll wait.” He told her.

“If you want to get it…” she started.

“I can wait.” He assured her, reaching behind him to turn off the water. “How much time do you think we have before we have to meet Jyrki and Rosalind?”

“I don’t know, maybe about an hour.” She said looking at him confused. “Why?”

“Because I want to get all those insecurities out of your head,” he whispered, opening the door to the shower, helping her out carefully so she wouldn’t slip, grabbing a towel from the rod and wrapping it around her body, before grabbing the other for himself. “And I’m positive it’s going to take more than an hour.”

Soya laughed as she watched him dry his chest, before wrapping the towel around his hips. “I’m sure Rosalind and Jyrki will understand if we’re late.” She teased, placing a hand on his chest and pushing him back towards the bedroom.

“Well if you want to get the tongue lashing from Rosalind, then I’m all for being late.” He laughed as he sat on the edge of the bed, and pulled her down on top of him, so she straddled his waist.

“I would much rather get a tongue lashing from you.” Soya said wiggling her eyebrows.

Ville burst out laughing. “Look at you being outwardly forward, I’m very proud of you.” He teased, grasping her chin lightly, tilting her face down so he could kiss her. His back hit the mattress, her arms on either side of the bed holding her up as they kissed. His hands found the back of her thighs and started to run up the smooth skin when he heard a knock on the door.

Soya pulled away and frowned at him. “We did tell them we were meeting them there right?”

“We did.” Ville nodded.

Soya sighed. “Stupid Rosalind.”

“At least she’s knocking.” Ville teased. “I’ll go tell her to fuck off.”

“Please.” Soya grinned, getting off him and sitting on the bed as he left the room.

Ville winced when he heard the sharp knocking on the door come again. Rolling his eyes he unlocked the door. “Rosalind, fuck off, we told you we’d meet-” Ville trailed off when he came eye to eye with an accusing grey glare instead of the brown he was expecting.
